Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 370: Chapter 206: Wake Up Stranger_3

Alka nodded to indicate understanding.

After all, the leader of his former team might not necessarily be dead; who knew the specifics?

”Thank you for your understanding. However, I can tell you about the apostate’s treasure. While I don’t know its specific name, it was once a treasure controlled by the Church. It’s said to offer a powerful enhancement for creating Spell Constructs.”

Upon hearing about the treasure, Alka’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Spell Constructs... He immediately thought of the undead monsters he encountered on the island yesterday and the constructs that supplement their limbs. The connection between the two seemed quite significant. Could it be that the treasure is causing this effect?

”Do you know the main attack method of this apostate?”

The man before him awkwardly shook his head at this easy question.

He explained, ”The day I clashed with the apostates was the first time I’d ever seen them, so I’m not very familiar with their attack methods. Especially the leading Saint; I was already near death before he even made a move. On the ship, my position was merely that of a mechanic, part of the logistics unit.”

Hearing this, Alka nodded.

A mechanic... what kind of profession is this? Is it unique to the Ocean of Enlightenment?

”What is a mechanic?”

Upon hearing Alka’s question, the man immediately understood that the person before him was likely from another sea region. Although he had suspected this previously, it was now almost certain. After all, the mechanic profession was well-known in his own sea region, considered quite common.

With this in mind, he said, ”It’s a profession that involves constructing intricate artifacts. It can be seen as a branch or an advanced progression of an Artifact Forger. Compared to an Artifact Forger, it requires learning more extensive and profound knowledge, as well as more precise craftsmanship.”

Hearing this, Alka nodded. Though it differed slightly from what he had imagined, it wasn’t far off.

It seems that in the Ocean of Enlightenment, constructs and similar technologies are quite advanced.

”If I were to come to the island you mentioned to rescue you, do you have any advice?”

”Um... I’m unaware of the situation outside. It’s certainly unsafe, so be careful.”

Alka nodded to indicate understanding.

”After all this talk, I still don’t know your name. What is it?”

”’Simon, Simon Pupulan,’ Simon quickly replied.”

Alka nodded, then extended his hand, shook Simon’s, and said, ”’Alright Simon, I hope you’re fortunate enough—fortunate enough that I might have the chance to rescue you.’”

Then Alka, right in front of him, went to the deck and flew towards the sky until he disappeared. He left very decisively, not giving Simon any chance to speak.

”’This unknown gentleman asks some strange questions,’ Simon muttered to himself.”

All the questions Alka had just asked didn’t seem particularly crucial. So, why had he awakened Simon in his dream? What did he want to find out? Or, as he said, was it merely curiosity after seeing a human’s Dream Realm appear elsewhere?

Nevertheless, from Alka’s previous responses and questions, Simon could glean that the unknown gentleman had thoughts of saving him. The questions all revolved around his current predicament.

That was enough.

It finally eased his tense heart; he had been on the verge of being driven mad by his external circumstances. Regardless of whether that gentleman rescued him or not, just being awakened in the Dream Realm by him would make this the best day Simon had experienced in years.

With this in mind, he sat directly on the floor, leaning against the nearby wall. Here he could see the surroundings. It was no longer dark, although the hunger was still palpable.

But it was enough.

At least he could move now.

He just lay there for a while.

He looked at the blue sky and suddenly frowned.

Then came the question: How can I get out? How can I awaken? Though, this state isn’t too bad.

「...」

Alka had returned to his own Dream Realm.

I wonder, if Simon realizes he can’t leave the Dream Realm, will he think I did it on purpose? Anyway, I’ll let him endure it for now.

He had deliberately not told Simon how to awaken, nor had he helped him do so. Alka had already proven this with Lucilia and Chadite. Waking alone is quite challenging, particularly when Simon’s soul and mental state were extremely poor. Combined with his immobilized state in the outside world, there would be no one there to physically rouse him. Although, with Simon’s strength and willpower, he might eventually awaken on his own after some time. But there would inevitably be a considerable period in between, and the time required for that was what Alka wanted. That interval would be enough for Alka and his team to act and thoroughly explore the island. This way, regardless of whether Simon was a friend or foe, he wouldn’t easily disturb their exploration. This was just a small precaution Alka had taken.

After a brief rest, Alka woke up directly.

At this time, the sky was just beginning to lighten; there was still a while before dawn.

After Alka had a simple wash, he went straight to his table and took out the map. Looking at the points of light on it, he reached out and tapped one.

He now needed to conduct a final information check. After last night’s interactions, more information should appear. This expanded information would greatly aid their exploration today and also help reveal if that person had lied.

With this in mind, Alka swept his hand across the map, first tapping on the most important golden point of light.

Come on, show me whose treasure remains there.
