Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Fang Zheng once saw a video online uploaded by someone titled ”Three Types of Players’ Perspectives on Horror Games.” In the eyes of the first type of players, horror games are just pure horror games, filled with constant screaming, running, and desperate deaths.

In the eyes of the second type of players, horror games are parkour games, treating those creatures as obstacles that can be bypassed even with closed eyes.

In the eyes of the third type of players, horror games are...

”Boom!!”

The dilapidated truck used as a barrier was blown to pieces, and the Deep Divers hiding behind it screamed and ran, flames burning all over their bodies, rolling on the ground in agony. Fang Zheng emerged from the other side of the exploding truck, walking out of the blazing flames like a devil from Purgatory, with the silver-white spear in his right hand flickering with weak fiery Radiance.

That’s right, in the eyes of the third type of players, horror games are still horror games, the only difference being the exchange of offense and defense.

”Gu-ga... Gu-ga...”

The Deep Divers in the distance made unpleasant, indistinct sounds, resembling a mix of frogs and fish, and Fang Zheng just glanced at them before raising his hand and shooting a spear. Next, with a ”boom” explosion sounding, the middle of the Deep Divers in the distance instantly exploded as if hit by a grenade attack, and the raging fire quickly and mercilessly devoured the scattered running Enchanted Clan, turning them into Ash.

”Amazing...”

Following behind Fang Zheng, Francis was also shaking with excitement upon seeing this scene. If he had any doubts about Fang Zheng’s strength before, seeing this person with unstoppable power now erased all doubts, and he felt he must cling to this powerful ally!

”I didn’t expect using it this way could be so interesting.”

Looking at the Ester in his hand, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction. Due to using the Wolf Sword Technique, Fang Zheng had always treated Ester as an auxiliary weapon without intending to change his approach. After all, Fang Zheng was used to the Greatsword, and most of the time, the Greatsword could solve problems.

But now it seemed that this gun was pretty good too.

Originally, Fang Zheng thought that using magic could also solve it, but what Fang Zheng didn’t expect was that when he tried to use magic, there was a deviation—according to Nymph’s explanation, the pheromones of this world differ by several percentage points compared to other worlds, which rendered Fang Zheng unable to use magic freely as in other worlds.

Because of the initial value deviation, using it also... doesn’t have any meaning.

Fang Zheng curiously experimented with Magic Missile Storm, only to speechlessly discover that the Magic Missiles he released shook in the air like soft tomatoes for a moment before plopping to the ground and disappearing completely.

So, helplessly, Fang Zheng simply stopped using it and relied on Primordial Fire... now it seems the effect is pretty good.

”Is this their Church?”

Fang Zheng walked across the street, stepping on bodies charred by Primordial Fire, looking at the church in front of him. It seemed to be a Catholic Church before, but now the sign above it was smashed to pieces, and the familiar cross was nowhere to be seen, replaced by an eye-like pattern composed of arcs.

Moreover, the whole church’s walls were smeared with bizarre texts and images, resembling postmodern art created by lunatics... In short, it surely isn’t anything good.

”Let’s go in and take a look.”

Fang Zheng glanced around, seeing nothing but blazing flames, corpses, and debris. Before arriving at the church, they encountered fierce resistance from the opposition, with an attitude of ”if you want to enter the church, cross over my dead body.”

So Fang Zheng really did step over their bodies.

But now, facing the church, Fang Zheng realized there was no one around, or rather, it wasn’t that there was no one...

”Report, Master, I’m detecting a large amount of life activity fifty meters underground... They are...”

”Boom rumble rumble...”

Suddenly, before Nymph could finish speaking, the ground began to tremble slightly, causing Fang Zheng, who was about to enter the church, to stop and frown, turning to look behind him.

”What’s wrong, sir?”

Francis, closely following Fang Zheng, hurried over and asked, along with curiously following Fang Zheng’s gaze to look into the distance, and then Francis was stunned.

Opposite the church was the pier and the sea. Now it was late night, and under the silver-white Moonlight, the flowing sea could be barely seen... Wait!

Upon seeing this, Francis trembled suddenly.

That wasn’t the sea!

What the hell was that!

Under the Moonlight, Pitch Black shadows gradually emerged from the sea, seemingly shadows illuminated by the Moonlight, but upon careful observation, it was obvious those shadows weren’t real shadows, they were... they were...

”......”

Meanwhile, deep, low voices suddenly resounded from all directions, initially weak but growing louder and louder. It was like a street group concert, where at first, only one voice was unclear, but gradually, as more people joined in, the singing grew louder and louder, more and more distinct.

The originally indistinct whispers started to become increasingly loud.

”Ee—ya—ee—ya—Cthulhu—sweets!”

”Ee—ya—ee—ya—Cthulhu—sweets!”

”Ee—ya—ee—ya—Cthulhu—sweets!”

”Wha, what is this sound?”

The chanting grew louder, akin to thunder, compelling Francis to desperately cover his ears. Yet, even so, he could still hear the voice seemingly emerging from his mind, pounding heavily on his chest. Francis felt an indescribable discomfort, his consciousness growing increasingly hazy, as if he were being drawn into an invisible vortex, completely vanishing...

”Sir!”

”Hmph.”

Seeing Francis’s pained expression, Fang Zheng snorted coldly. Then he turned around and aimed a shot at the church behind him.

”Bang!!”

With the gunshot, the entire church trembled suddenly. In the next moment, roaring flames surged into the sky, turning the church into a giant burning pillar of fire. The explosion sounded like a mountain collapsing and the earth splitting apart. Even the village that originally seemed pitch black under the night sky was illuminated by the firelight.

The shadows that were approaching the seaside were also startled by the ascending flames, halting for a moment. Meanwhile, the nauseating chanting disappeared without a trace.

”Here, take this.”

Francis finally managed to come back to his senses after the earlier nightmare, only to see Fang Zheng casually tossing over something resembling a gemstone brooch.

”Find a place to hide, don’t come out and die.”

”Then what about you, sir?”

”After I handle these troubles, I’ll meet you. Don’t worry, there won’t be any issues. This thing will protect you, keeping you safe from harm... By the way, can you recite the Diamond Sutra?”

”... What is that?”

”Oh, sorry for straying off topic, can you recite the Bible?”

”Well... I know some.”

”Then find a place and kneel down to recite the Bible; recite it a hundred and eighty times and I’ll come find you.”

”Alright, okay.”

Francis now understood that things might get extremely dangerous next, and staying here likely wouldn’t help. Thus, he nodded and quickly turned around to run back the way he came. After watching Francis’s figure disappear, Fang Zheng withdrew his gaze and once again looked at the coast in front of him. He then moved the gun to his left hand and, with a swing of his right hand, brought out the Greatsword.

”Come, let me see how long you can burn!”

Looking at the army of Deep Divers ahead, Fang Zheng gave a cold smile. Although it felt a bit strange, this aura was not unfamiliar to Fang Zheng; he had encountered something similar in Anan before. Now... after facing these Enchanted Clan creatures directly, Fang Zheng finally understood what he was up against.

As the heir of Farron’s Undead Squad, he had only one task!

”!!”

As Fang Zheng finished speaking, it seemed the opponents had been waiting for this moment. The seawater in front of Fang Zheng exploded abruptly, followed by several octopus-like tentacles emerging from the depths, reaching towards Fang Zheng. They were several meters thick, with large suction cups on them, and sharp teeth writhing within the suction cups.

”Hmph!”

Seeing the tentacles charging at him, Fang Zheng snorted coldly. You’re joking, I’m not Red Ponytail; you dare use tentacles against me?

That’s impossible!

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng stepped forward, swinging the Pitch Black Greatsword with a flash of fire, splitting the darkness and striking down the tentacles in front of him head-on!

”Boom!!”

The Pitch Black Greatsword effortlessly sliced through the massive tentacle before him, as if cutting through cheese, splitting it in half. Flames erupted forward, even splitting the sea apart with this fiery strike.

The opponent clearly hadn’t anticipated Fang Zheng having such power. Amidst the wailing, the tentacles scorched by the Primordial Fire suddenly withdrew. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng raised the Greatsword in his hand, flames blazing fiercely.

”Let the fire purify everything!”

You’re not the only one who can deliver lines, I can too!

With Fang Zheng’s sword swing, the entire world seemed to stop for a moment, followed by screams ringing out. A colossal shadow leaped furiously from the horizon, while shadows from all directions surged toward Fang Zheng as if obeying a command!
