Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Wh-what... what on earth is this...?”

At this moment, even Misaka Mikoto’s teeth were chattering. She was a Level 5, one of the only five Level 5s in Academy City, but seeing these staggering dead people now, Misaka Mikoto felt like an ordinary girl, scared enough to keep retreating.

Not only Misaka Mikoto, but Kuroko Shirai was also holding a steel spike in hand, uncertainly looking at these people in front of her, having no idea how to act! After all, although Kuroko Shirai had more battle experience than Misaka Mikoto, the Discipline Committee Members were for maintaining order, not for fighting enemies. At most, she thought about pinning them down.

But now... even using spatial movement to send the spike into their bodies was useless, seeing as the man with half his head missing was still talking. What use was the spike in her hand?

”Ring of the East Wind!!”

Saten Reiko was also scared out of her wits, hurriedly raised her Blade of Wind, and shouted loudly. Then they saw a whirlwind roar out like a cannonball, directly blasting one of the dead people. The howling storm instantly shredded its body into pieces, scattering them everywhere.

”Huff... huff...”

Looking at the scattered pieces, Saten Reiko’s face was pale, gasping for breath. This was her first time killing someone—even though the opponent was already dead, Saten Reiko had been terrified. Not only was Reiko scared, but Rei was also so frightened that she kept urging Reiko to quickly get rid of these horrible creatures, so they launched such a combined attack, however...

”Hehehe, so much fun...”

The severed head showed no intention of stopping, instead laughing heartily. Everyone could even see the scattered pieces of flesh wriggling and starting to reassemble!

”Ah!!”

Seeing this, Reiko finally couldn’t hold back and screamed, quickly hiding behind Fang Zheng.

Alisa, on the other hand, stood in place, vigilantly staring at the dead people in front of her. Although she didn’t run back to Fang Zheng like the other girls, she was also puzzled about what to do with these enemies in front of her—although in terms of strength, the Wild Gods were much stronger than these mindless dead people, once a Wild God’s head was chopped off and its core was taken, it would definitely die.

In desperation, she thought, just eat them!

After making this decision, Alisa gripped her sword hilt tightly, lowered her body abruptly, and rushed toward another dead person. Seeing Alisa coming, the dead person grinned and pulled the trigger of a gun aimed at her. However, as a God Eater injected with Oracle Cells, Alisa easily avoided these shots, then approached the dead person and thrust her sword. Then, blood and flesh-formed fangs abruptly emerged from the gaps of the greatsword, biting the dead person hard, chewing twice, and then... spat it out.

No way I’d eat that!

At that moment, Alisa was dumbfounded. She had never tried devouring anything other than the Wild Gods, but she thought since her Divine Machine could eat something as big as a Wild God, it should have no problem with something this small.

But to her surprise, her Divine Machine was... picky!

Meanwhile, the other dead people reacted, hastily raised their guns, and fired at Alisa. Helpless, Alisa quickly dodged and returned to the rear.

As for Feli—she had been staying back from the start, never coming forward.

”Alright, let me handle it.”

At this moment, Fang Zheng finished the last bite of his meat sandwich and strode up. While he was eating breakfast, he also observed the situation with these dead people, and the more he looked, the clearer he became.

Oh, this is a BUG.

What, you don’t get it?

It’s simple. When you encounter a monster in a game, and no matter how much damage you do, its health bar never empties. How do you feel?

There was a similar bug in Diablo where players, fighting the Sin Embodiment, might find the monster still kicking despite its health being empty, even if they dealt billions of damage.

This is the current state of these dead people.

Since it’s a BUG, you either fix it or delete it.

Fixing it is too troublesome, and who knows if fixing one bug will create more. The best way is to be done with it... just delete them.

With this in mind, Fang Zheng raised his right hand, and soon a pitch-black greatsword emerged from his palm, igniting fiercely. He then swung the sword, and in an instant, a flame erupted, engulfing these people entirely, burning them to ashes in the blink of an eye.

However, Fang Zheng didn’t kill all the enemies; he intentionally left one. When that person sensed something was wrong and tried to turn and run, Fang Zheng grabbed him by the neck like a chick.

”Release, release me, you bastard!”

Even being captured by Fang Zheng, the individual didn’t give up, struggling desperately. Against this kind of person, Fang Zheng naturally showed no mercy; he reached out, pressing ”crack crack” on the other’s joints. With a scream, the four limbs of this dead person hung limply.

”Alright, now I’ll ask, you answer, got it?”

”Pah!”

However, facing Fang Zheng’s question, the dead person spat directly.

”Dream on, unless you kill me! If you dare, just kill me, hahaha.”

Looking at Fang Zheng right now, the dead person wore a smirking expression.

”How about it? Got the guts? Come on? I’m standing right here, see if you can kill me.”

”Heh, you seem quite confident in yourself.”

Fang Zheng looked at the corpse in front of him and smiled coldly.

”Do you think I can’t kill you, so you can do whatever you want?”

”That’s right!”

At this moment, the corpse also lifted its head, sneering as it looked at Fang Zheng.

”You can’t kill us at all; we are immortal!”

”Nonsense, didn’t Mr. Fang Zheng just burn your companion to ashes?”

At this time, Saten Reiko beside him also spoke up to refute, while the corpse simply laughed.

”Useless, useless! We are immortal, only the Tomb Guardian can kill us. Even if you burn us to ashes, we can still resurrect with some time! This is our world, our heaven!”

”What?”

Hearing this, the girls’ faces changed drastically. They didn’t expect the corpses here to be so strange—can they resurrect even after being burned to ashes?

Yet, hearing the corpse’s answer, Fang Zheng became silent for a moment, then he looked up, gazing forward.

”The Tomb Guardian you mentioned, is that the one?”

”......!”

At this moment, the corpse that had been laughing maniacally suddenly stopped, as if its throat was being squeezed. It turned its head fearfully, and at the end of the street stood a woman with long purple hair, wearing a blazer, calmly smiling. In her hand was a very oddly shaped shovel, and across her beautiful face was a scar vivid from her right brow to her eyelid.

”To-Tomb Guardian!”

Seeing the woman, the corpse that was originally fearless suddenly screamed like seeing a natural enemy, desperately twisting its body trying to escape, but its limbs had been broken by Fang Zheng, making escape impossible. Fang Zheng said nothing more, casually tossing the corpse forward.

As soon as the corpse hit the ground, a figure flickered. The next moment, the smiling beautiful woman appeared before the corpse, bringing her shovel down, splitting the corpse’s head in two directly.

Wow, nice shovel strike, captures the essence of Walnut perfectly. Are you also an heir of the shovel dance class?

Seeing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but whistle, and after splitting the corpse’s head, the woman, still smiling, looked at everyone, nodding her head.

”Nice to meet all of you.”

”Indeed, nice to meet you.”

Fang Zheng nodded, and the woman glanced at everyone before retrieving her gaze.

”Please wait a moment.”

As she spoke, the woman walked to the side of the road, picked up her shovel, and began digging a hole. Despite her slender frame, she exhibited great strength and worked fast; in just over ten minutes, a proper grave appeared before everyone. Then the woman lifted the body, gently placing it in the grave before covering it again.

And with her actions of filling the grave, Fang Zheng saw ribbons of soul colors seep from the ground, slowly rising into the sky.

I see.

Watching this, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow, once more looking at the woman before him.

Perhaps to others, she was simply burying a body, but Fang Zheng could see that during the burial, the original distortions and errors were being repaired.

To explain using games, if a creature cannot die due to a bug, what other solutions exist besides seeking a GM for repairs?

It’s simple: attack with properties like ”execution” or ”instant death.” As long as the trigger mechanism is achieved, the bug can potentially be removed.

And evidently, the Tomb Guardian was performing just this act.

Moreover, she is not a human.

Strictly speaking, she seems more like an NPC responsible for maintaining order in this world.

I see, this is the so-called Tomb Guardian.

Under everyone’s gaze, the woman buried the corpse, then stood up and bowed respectfully to everyone.

”Thank you for waiting.”
