Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Without the protagonist’s warning, no one knew what had truly happened. People all over the world were eagerly awaiting the U.S. envoy to make contact with these mysterious alien visitors, and in fact, the U.S. President was also watching the live broadcast from the White House.

Soon, the liaison helicopter arrived in front of one of the massive circular warships and flashed its lights at it, but then, the next moment... a blue light beam shot out from the warship, instantly shattering the helicopter and people’s hopes together.

Before this, the leaders of various countries still held some hope that these aliens were benevolent and had come here for communication. But the truth slapped them hard in the face. Clearly, the aliens bore no goodwill towards humanity.

This was only to be expected.

However, unfortunately, when they learned the truth, it was already too late.

The immense warships opened slowly above each city, and then, light beams capable of destroying entire cities came crashing down, engulfing everything in a sea of fire. People screamed and cried, trying to escape, but in the blink of an eye, they were completely consumed by the flames.

But, this was not the end.

”Boom boom boom!!”

Brilliant thunder crashed down, striking the earth, and simultaneously, the lights in the small town disappeared instantly.

”What exactly happened?”

A man rushed out of his house, looking around. Just now, he was like everyone else, waiting in front of the TV for the final result, but unexpectedly, a sudden string of thunder descended rapidly, followed by total darkness in the room. It wasn’t just the lamps and TV; even the flashlight wouldn’t turn on, and the car couldn’t start.

Luckily, the man had a torch he previously made for attending summer camp, which he hurriedly lit and then went outside to look around. Not only him, but others also came out of their houses to gather here.

”What exactly happened?”

”Was lightning just struck?”

”I saw it too, it was right here.”

As they spoke, the group crowded closer, looking ahead by the torchlight, only to see in front of them a crack, about the size of a basin, seemingly struck by lightning.

”Did so much lightning hit the same spot?”

”Seems like it did... truly unsettling, and I don’t know... ”

”Boom!!”

Before the group could finish speaking, suddenly, the earth began to tremble; the previously solid ground now began to shake like waves. Before others could react, the ground suddenly sank, and then, a giant tripod-like robot, resembling an octopus, emerged from beneath the earth.

The next moment, a blazing, dazzling white light beam shot out, piercing through the man standing in front, turning him into ash.

Screams and destruction followed.

Similarly, on the west coast, a similar scene unfolded.

Countless blue celestial bodies, resembling meteors, descended from the sky, emitting dazzling light. And those who saw the light seemed to lose themselves, like puppets being manipulated, slowly moving towards the radiant place.

Then, they vanished into the blue radiance.

”This really is a dance of demons.”

Watching the images on the screen, Fang Zheng also showed a slight cold smile, because, due to the world’s compulsion, the alien legion’s first targets for attack were America, Europe, and Russia, followed by America’s allies in Asia, and finally ”others”... Well, because of this, it actually gave Fang Zheng an opportunity to take action.

”Get ready to move.”

”Yes, Commander.”

As the alien legion wreaked havoc worldwide, Asia naturally did not escape from their grip.

Logically speaking, the Huaxia Central Plains, vast and populous, should have been the first target of the alien legion’s attack.

However, that wasn’t the case!

Indeed, two alien warships appeared in East Asia, but those two warships stopped one in Seoul and one in Tokyo!

As for the reason... you can only ask their American fathers.

But that didn’t mean they escaped the calamity.

On the contrary, because those two minion nations were already exceedingly small, a single wave of attacks from two warships nearly meant complete extermination, so after washing over those two island nations, the two warships coincidentally headed towards... Though, this was understandable, given such large terrains!

It should be the norm for the first wave to attack those outlying corners, right!

But given the world’s compulsion, what choice did we have?

Meanwhile, upon detecting the enemy’s arrival, Huaxia promptly activated a Level One alert and evacuated people at the fastest speed possible, trying to preserve human resources as much as possible.

Of course, Huaxia didn’t want a showdown, but there was already a precedent — Russians were similarly targeted in the alien legion’s first wave of attack, and Russians being Russians, immediately went into a fury, sending a nuclear bomb over, yet — it didn’t have any effect!

Not even a scratch on the enemy’s shields!

Upon learning the result, Huaxia quickly changed their strategy, as the saying goes, ”as long as there’s life, there’s hope,” and even then, they did not choose to surrender.

Having a fight with enemies vastly superior in strength?

They were accustomed to it!

From the Republic’s establishment to now, they had been fighting like this all along!

Wasn’t the Korean War fought with millet and rifles?

Though the disparity in strength between us and the enemy seems larger this time, we can’t just surrender like this!

Even if we know we can’t win, the fight must go on!

Thus, under the cover of night, a roaring formation of fighter jets quickly took off, speeding toward the distance.

Looking at the pitch-black night ahead, the fighter pilots felt somewhat tense. Soon, one of them spoke up.

”Control Tower Two, Control Tower Two, this is Control Tower Three, do you copy?”

”Control Tower Three, Control Tower Three, this is Control Tower Two, what’s up?”

”Are we really going to fight aliens?”

”Isn’t it great? Americans always fight aliens in the movies; now we’re having our own thrill.”

As Control Tower Two finished speaking, laughter filled the radio communications.

”Wonder what’s going on in America.”

”Heard Russians aren’t doing well, Americans might be having a tough time too.”

”Maybe we’ll end up saving the world!”

”Hahahahaha.”

”Alright, enough jokes, we’re near the battle zone, prepare for combat, remember the orders, no heroics.”

The lead plane joined in at this moment, and hearing his words, the other pilots immediately fell silent. They knew their mission: after realizing modern weapons were almost ineffective against these aliens, higher-ups decided to evacuate civilians and minimize casualties as quickly as possible.

Their task was to buy time for ground troops evacuating civilians, aware of the dangers, yet they remained undeterred.

After all, this was their mission!

”Target in sight, prepare to attack.”

At this moment, beyond the horizon, sunlight gradually appeared, illuminating a massive shadow resembling a floating island. Seeing this, all the pilots gasped, then refocused. They had never encountered an enemy like this, not even imagined them in drills.

But now, these enemies stood before them.

So, their only task now was:

”Prepare to attack!”

Soon, the battle erupted.

War flames burned across the sky and sea. Fighters didn’t expect to defeat such a colossal enemy with their own might, but if they could distract and make the enemy shift focus or delay a bit, they’d consider it a success.

Yet, even such efforts were in vain.

The massive warship, resembling an airborne fortress, continued advancing, undeterred. Their attacks were wholly absorbed by the blue shield outside. Moreover, small flying discs launched from the mother ship relentlessly eliminated enemies with chilling precision.

”Boom, boom, boom!!”

Missiles trailed long smoke tails, striking and detonating on the alien warship’s hull. But after the dazzling flames, the ship emerged utterly unharmed...

”It’s simply a creature.”

Standing on the warship’s deck, the General raised his binoculars, watching the looming shadow approaching fast.

”Not a scratch despite all that... Honestly, after learning that nukes had no effect, I was mentally prepared, but this is too exaggerated! When fighting Americans back then, bullets at least left a mark on tanks!”

”Indeed, they’re aliens.”

”Yes, being superior to us is only natural as aliens.”

The General nodded.

”So keep it up, even if it’s just a minor hindrance, it’ll at least divert their attention. Try to buy time; evacuating cities isn’t easy.”

For Americans, accustomed to world dominance, ineffective weapons might prompt thoughts of ”It’s fake!”, ”What now!”, ”We’re doomed!” leading to surrender, but here, such battles are common fare, and past fights resemble those against aliens.

”Next...”

Thinking of this, the old General prepared to issue commands.

Yet suddenly, a flash descended from the sky.

It seemed like thunder slashing the firmament, splitting the sky; the sea rumbled, and before everyone, the massive warship fractured into two halves with that strike.

”What is...”

Watching this scene, the old General stood astonished, and before he could speak again, a unique presence emerged from nearby clouds, its massive cannons aimed at the alien warship.

Following deep roars and flashes of red appearing as if burning the world, the alien warship instantly turned into a sea of flames.
