Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1599: Chapter 1597: A Headache-Inducing Beginning (Groggily Slept Through the Noon)

Fang Zheng’s first task was to search for information about entertainment companies or production houses in this world. Then, he would start looking for them one by one. If he wanted, he could directly buy all the film companies, music companies, and agencies in this world. After all, any problem that can be solved by money is no problem at all.

There’s always the CIA if the FBI isn’t enough, and if the CIA isn’t enough, there’s NASA, isn’t there?

At worst, just divert part of the U.S. Congress budget.

No big deal.

Besides, Fang Zheng also needed to arrange the lives and plans of others. After all, there’s basically no battles to be fought in this world, so Katori and Little Hei wouldn’t have to eliminate any enemies.

Little Hei and Illya expressed their unwillingness to attend school. They’ve had enough of having to go to school every time they arrive in a new world. More importantly, it’s not just attending school—they have to do homework. What kind of life is that? While they’re not human, but Heroic Spirits, there’s no need to write repeatedly like this! What kind of torture is this?

Alright, Fang Zheng could understand.

If it were him, having to go to school and do homework every time he visited a world would indeed be annoying.

Strictly speaking, Fang Zheng was always the one giving out homework.

Coincidentally, Atalanta had nothing to do either, so Fang Zheng arranged for the three to watch the house.

Neflen and Katori were quite interested in the schools of this world, so Fang Zheng arranged for them to transfer—just as a way to experience daily life.

As for Sora, she planned to stay by Fang Zheng’s side and go wherever he went.

Fang Zheng didn’t mind this, as her performance in Amagi Brilliant Park was something he observed. Her cooperation with him was adequate.

Early the next morning, Sekai and others came to Fang Zheng’s home.

Seeing Fang Zheng in front of them, Sekai and Setsuna, like Yukina, were a little uneasy. Fang Zheng’s appearance seemed to span too much time, but fortunately, they had ”previews” from Touma and wouldn’t mistake Fang Zheng for his brother like Yukina did at first.

”I heard from Touma that you’re planning to build a Teleportation Gate to your world in this one?”

Sekai, the most outgoing of the group, was only stunned for a moment upon seeing Fang Zheng, then quickly greeted him with a smile and curiously asked, while Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders.

”That’s right. I suppose you’ve all heard Touma talk about the specifics. To be safe, I’m planning to build a Teleportation Gate.”

”Then why didn’t you build one before?”

Upon hearing this, Yukina couldn’t help but complain... Well, that is indeed a question.

”Because it requires a lot of time and resources.”

Fang Zheng shook his head.

”To be honest, it wasn’t cost-effective for me to do it back then, so I didn’t plan for it. I think you understand that, so at the time, I opted to say goodbye. But ultimately, humanity’s calculations weren’t as good as Heavenly Dao’s, and something unexpected happened on Touma’s side, which led me to find a solution.”

”Oh... I see...”

Upon hearing this, Yukina’s expression dimmed a bit, while Sekai’s complexion appeared complex. Unlike the straightforward Touma, these two were quite astute; even though Fang Zheng was explaining, they both clearly understood that he meant they weren’t significant enough for him to build a Teleportation Gate.

This was what Fang Zheng wanted to convey since this time he came to this world not for any romantic task—he already had the protagonist’s destiny and didn’t intend to get tangled in too many unclear matters. So Fang Zheng needed to clarify his thoughts to them from the beginning.

After this, whatever choice they made was their own business.

However, just then, Setsuna, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up.

”Will you come again in the future?”

”Of course.”

Fang Zheng nodded at Setsuna.

”Since there’s the Teleportation Gate, I will return from time to time.”

”Can we go to your world too?”

”No problem. Since I’ve told you about this, you’re naturally welcome to go to the Heavenly Dao Palace, whether you want to live there or visit, you’re welcome. But let me make it clear, the time flow in the Heavenly Dao Palace is different from other worlds... Don’t look at me like that, I mentioned before, this is my real form, not because I’ve spent a long time in the Heavenly Dao Palace.”

”I got it.”

Upon hearing this, Setsuna nodded, then fell silent. Watching Setsuna, Fang Zheng felt curious. To be honest, among the band, he didn’t interact with Setsuna much. In fact, Setsuna seemed to be distant from everyone, only closer to Sekai. According to Sekai, the two grew up together and were also distant relatives.

Fang Zheng’s deepest impression of Setsuna was that when everyone was controlled by the Evil Spirit before, Setsuna unexpectedly pulled out a stun gun. Fang Zheng realized this silent girl wasn’t easily provoked.

However, Setsuna rarely spoke, even when everyone was in the band together. She gave Fang Zheng the impression that she was like a spectator.

After that, the group didn’t dwell on this issue. Fang Zheng asked about Sekai and others’ recent situations and briefly introduced Katori and Neflen—they would be transferring into Sekai’s class, so someone needed to look after them to avoid any trouble.

Sekai and Yukina had no objections to this, readily agreeing. After chatting a bit more, Sekai and the others bid farewell and left.

After they left, Little Hei was the first to pop out.

”Big Brother, you’re so cold-hearted. I thought you would just take them in! Look, those sisters looked so hurt. I could tell they really like you.”

”I’ve got plenty of women who like me. Should I accept them all unconditionally?”

Fang Zheng patted Little Hei’s head.

”Moreover, everyone has their choices to make, and I hope they consider carefully before deciding.”

”What’s there to consider? Love is inherently blind, isn’t it?”

”I’ve never experienced the kind of love you’re talking about... Well, I have things to do. Bring the documents over.”

”Okay.”

Little Hei didn’t mind and responded casually, then moved the large box next to them to Fang Zheng’s front. Fang Zheng took out document after document, flipping through them casually and putting them aside.

To build a Teleportation Gate, he needed to trigger the task first. At least Fang Zheng could glean a bit from the system’s patterns. The current documents are about entertainment companies and agencies worldwide, and Fang Zheng flipped through and reviewed them one by one while waiting for inspiration from his Prophet Mage and system hints.

It felt kind of like drawing lots. Fang Zheng’s goals were clear; now, it was just a matter of how many draws it would take to hit the target.

Hmm... this one isn’t it, this one neither, not this one either...

Fang Zheng opened each document, glanced swiftly, then put it aside before moving to the next.

Frustratedly, all the major agencies were gone through, but Fang Zheng had no ”feeling,” meaning the task’s completion target wasn’t amongst these big agencies, which left Fang Zheng speechless. If it were large companies, he could just buy them beforehand; Fang Zheng even considered using ”Ratziel” to write himself as the behind-the-scenes boss of all entertainment companies in this world and effortlessly complete the task.

But unfortunately, it couldn’t be written...

The Will of the Great Cosmos’s power in this world was strong too, it rejected Fang Zheng’s attempts several times, so he gave up.

Could he burn the world down?

”This one isn’t it, this isn’t... Hmm?”

Fang Zheng’s hand paused, as just now, while picking up this document, his heart trembled slightly. His Prophet Mage ability had kicked in. Clearly, Fang Zheng instinctively sensed that this document was key to successfully building the Teleportation Gate.

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng focused on the document before him.

”346 Production?”

According to the document, 346 Production is a long-established talent agency, with numerous talents under its wing. The agency’s information seemed to align with Fang Zheng’s intent. Being an old agency meant substantial influence, and having many artists would easily expand reach and increase task completion likelihood.

Better put this aside for now.

Fang Zheng placed the ”346 Production” document aside and continued to open the next files.

Then, after a while, he ”felt” another document.

”765?”

Looking at this document, Fang Zheng was momentarily baffled.

What’s with all these numbers? 346 and now 765, what does it even mean?

Yet the introduction of 765 differed from 346. Document info showed 765 had few members and wasn’t very famous, barely managing to sustain operations. It was basically the polar opposite of 346, but given that picking up this document triggered his foresight again, Fang Zheng retained this one too.

Inevitably, he stumbled upon another document soon after— ”961”...

Don’t these agencies in this world have any names? Just numbers?

The info on 961 was similar to 346, wealthy, but Fang Zheng was annoyed to find 961 focused on boy bands...

So ultimately, what should he choose?

For Fang Zheng, this indeed posed a troubling decision.
