Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1579: Chapter 1577: The Final Messenger (Time to Play Destiny 2)

”Humans cannot create something from nothing, and without relying on something, humans cannot survive, for humans are not deities.”

The young boy quietly watched Fang Zheng in front of him, and the people behind him.

”Li Lin, what a pitiful existence.”

”What you represent is merely a possibility of evolution.”

Fang Zheng silently raised the greatsword in his hand.

”Even deities do not mean there is only one path to take. Adam and Lilith chose different paths and moved towards different futures. Sorry, humans have their own future.”

”What about the EVE series then? Born from Adam, existing as a forbidden entity to humans, for survival, Li Lin could even utilize such things... I can’t understand it.”

”That is the reason humans have survived to this day.”

Fang Zheng stared at the young boy in front of him.

”Humans, as a group, as a whole, want to survive no matter what. It’s not just like animals, avoiding and fearing when facing disasters, but actively overcoming challenges, fighting against the heavens and earth. If there is a flood, we manage it. If there’s an earthquake, we overcome it. This is why humans have survived till now, and it is the fundamental reason why Adam and the Angel Envoy failed... Sorry, I’m on the side of humans.”

”I can understand, oh messenger from another land.”

Saying this, Nagisa Kaoru turned around.

”Only one life form can escape the moment of destruction and gain the future, yet doesn’t someone among you also wish for this?”

”That is merely escapism, abandoning one’s flaws and mission, chasing after so-called redemption... the standard symptom of religious fanaticism. Ignorant people are like this. After all, compared to science, abandoning one’s will and leaving everything to so-called illusory deities to decide one’s fate is very simple. As for me...”

Fang Zheng gripped the greatsword in his hand tightly.

”There has never been a Savior, nor an Immortal Emperor. If we want to create human happiness, we must rely on ourselves. Abandoning one’s existence as a human, transforming oneself into some kind of metaphysical existence, and naively believing that this can solve all problems... that is a sign of immaturity. But it’s also very natural, because facing a problem that seems difficult, cheating is an easier way than solving it, but unfortunately...”

At this, Fang Zheng’s mouth slightly curved up.

”I’m the invigilator.”

”Is that so...?”

The boy closed his eyes.

”It seems the elders didn’t consider this either.”

”If you can’t solve the problem, you can submit a blank paper and try again next time, and if you need time, I can give you that. But if your intention is simply to cheat, then I’m sorry, I’ll have to ask you to leave the exam room.”

Fang Zheng reversed the greatsword and thrust it heavily into the ground.

”Sealing.”

The next moment, burning flames soared into the sky, enveloping the entire world.

There was essentially no fight.

Nagisa Kaoru deployed an AT Field, but that was as far as it went.

The next moment, the pitch-black greatsword directly tore through the AT Field in front of the boy, piercing his chest, and amidst the soaring flames, the boy’s figure disappeared into them. When Fang Zheng withdrew the greatsword again, the seal vanished, and everything before him returned to the starting point.

”Ah?”

Only then did the people seem to react.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, where’s that boy?”

”He’s already dead, like the other Angel Envoys.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng lowered his head to look at the faint radiance in his hand. Adam’s soul had been burned away, and what remained was... the remnants of the Order Coordinates.

In the end, it still falls on me!

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng felt a wave of frustration. In Katori’s world, the soul fragments of the Star God had been transformed into the Golden Fairy, so he had to complete the missing parts himself. Now in this world, he still had to do the same thing, since Lilith’s soul had been divided into the human collective, he would have to wait for the Human Complements Plan to restore it, but he obviously wouldn’t destroy humanity for that... Damn it, in the end, I still have to handle it myself, do they think I’m the deity of free service?

They treat me like a tool!

Once this is done, I need to find a world with firewood to burn, otherwise I fear I’ll run out of divine power... Although currently, due to the dual roles of the God of Magical Girls and the God of Games, some of Fang Zheng’s divine power has barely recovered, but it’s still in deficit, not even reaching balance!

”Haa...”

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng sighed, turned his head, and looked at the people behind him again.

”Alright, next I have to tell you something... actually it’s not a big deal, it’s about the existence of Adam and Lilith, and why they came to this planet...”

Saying this, Fang Zheng explained to the people the war between Order and Chaos, the existence of the Goddess of Order, and the mission of Adam and Lilith, and after listening to Fang Zheng’s explanation, almost everyone, including Katsuragi Misato, fell into a state of chaos.

”A war between Order and Chaos?”

”Order Coordinates?”

”You’re not joking, are you, Mr. Fang Zheng?”

”Of course not... I wish I was joking. But the truth is, this world is one of the coordinates points of guarding order, and once this world is destroyed, when one coordinate point collapses, it will lead to the invasion of chaos and other worlds will suffer the same fate of destruction. Therefore, our Heavenly Dao Palace absolutely cannot tolerate this happening. In other words...”

At this, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders.

”Even if the Human Complements Plan succeeds, it’s useless because the success of the Human Complements Plan means the instant collapse of the order supporting this world, the barrier shatters, chaos will directly invade here, and then destroy this world. At that point, whatever you complement is useless, it’s all a dead end.”

”Since that’s the case, why doesn’t your Heavenly Dao Palace just directly disclose this matter?”

Misato Katsuragi immediately asked.

”As long as you reveal the truth, I believe...”

”To be frank, our Heavenly Dao Palace’s principle is not to intervene in the operation of an individual world unless absolutely necessary.”

Fang Zheng shook his head.

”Indeed, as you said, if we were to just appear and inform the high authorities here about the threat of Chaos, we could potentially change the situation. However, doing so might lead to other issues. Do you think the rulers of this world wouldn’t suspect us of purposefully exaggerating the threat of Chaos, just to use it to govern humanity?”

”This...”

Hearing this, Misato Katsuragi had nothing more to say.

”Moreover, every world has different civilization branch routes. We are reluctant to interfere unless absolutely necessary.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng smiled slightly.

”But once everything is over, I can take you to see other worlds. It’s said seeing is believing; witnessing the situations in other worlds might help you make a judgment.”

”Really?”

Compared to Misato Katsuragi, both Asuka and Shinji are still kids, so upon hearing about other worlds, they immediately became excited.

”Fang Zheng, what are the other worlds like?”

”Can we really go?”

”Due to different paths of civilization, human development varies in each world. There are worlds with magical civilizations and technological civilizations, and even those that have ventured beyond the Solar System to colonize within the Galaxy. In fact, there are robots similar to yours in these worlds; perhaps you could learn from each other’s EVAs.”

”So, about this matter...”

”I need your help.”

Fang Zheng looked towards the people in front of him again.

”Next up, this is my plan...”

NERV Headquarters.

”What does this mean?”

Gendo Ikari, sitting behind the desk, maintained his iconic pose, but his eyes coldly stared at Fang Zheng, full of anger.

”It means exactly what it says, Gendo Ikari.”

Fang Zheng gently released his hand and placed the order document on Gendo Ikari’s desk.

”Your collusion with SEELE to attempt the destruction of humanity has been exposed. The League of Nations has decided that, from now on, NERV Headquarters will be fully handled by the League of Nations. Gendo Ikari and Kozou Fuyutsuki are relieved of their duties and will be arrested on the spot!”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng waved his hand.

”Take them down!”

As soon as the words fell, several black-clad persons immediately came forward, trying to control Gendo Ikari and Fuyutsuki. However, just as they approached, Gendo Ikari pulled out a gun and aimed at Fang Zheng. Simultaneously, Fang Zheng also drew a gun and aimed at Gendo Ikari.

”Those who violate the order can be directly executed; it seems you are mentally prepared, Gendo Ikari.”

”Sacrifice is necessary to achieve the goal.”

Clutching the pistol tightly, Gendo Ikari glared tensely at Fang Zheng.

”I will never let you obstruct me...this is mine, me and Yui’s...!”

At this point, Gendo Ikari suddenly pulled the trigger.

”Bang!!”

The spinning bullet hit Gendo Ikari’s forehead, under its tremendous impact lifting off his skull cap, warm cerebral matter sprayed out, mixed with blood splattering backwards. Then, Gendo Ikari’s body fell backward onto the ground, twitching once before becoming completely unresponsive.

”Ikari...”

Looking at Gendo Ikari’s corpse, Vice Commander Fuyutsuki’s expression was complicated. He knew better than anyone what Gendo Ikari had sacrificed for this plan, but now...just a single bullet, and all of what Gendo Ikari had done over the decades turned to nothing.

”No matter what your excuses are, it’s never a reason to destroy all humanity.”

Fang Zheng put down the gun in his hand, coldly staring at Gendo Ikari’s corpse on the ground. He didn’t care one bit about Gendo Ikari and Yui Ikari’s personal matters, whether Gendo Ikari loved Yui Ikari or had noble ideals and grand ambitions, Fang Zheng didn’t care. He didn’t care whether Gendo Ikari’s motivations were noble, tear-jerking, filled with deep love or anything else. Since he chose this path, death was the only option!

”Take him away.”

Glancing at Vice Commander Fuyutsuki, Fang Zheng didn’t say much. Since they didn’t share the same ideals, Fuyutsuki wasn’t a bad person, but he supported the Human Complement Project, thus Fang Zheng considered him an enemy, and Fang Zheng never showed mercy to his enemies.

Soon, two black-clad individuals came forward to control Vice Commander Fuyutsuki, taking him out of the room. Only then did Fang Zheng approach Gendo Ikari’s body, summoning the Pitch Black Greatsword with a reverse grip, stabbing it into Gendo Ikari’s corpse. Soon flames roared up, and with a sharp scream, a wriggling mass of flesh emerged from Gendo Ikari’s palm, struggling to escape, but before it could get free, the blazing flames completely devoured the wriggling flesh mass, turning it into ashes.

”A piece of Adam’s body...at least I’ve obtained it.”

Looking at the glowing piece of firewood in his hand, Fang Zheng nodded.

Next is the final battle with SEELE.
