Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1556: Chapter 1554: Waves of Revolution

The battle did not end with the overwhelming power from the World Tree of a Thousand Realms.

On the contrary, after the World Tree deployed its forces into the Clock Tower for battle, the remaining magicians from Clock Tower also gathered together, initiating a counterattack against the World Tree.

”If I were you, I would directly order those metal warships to level the entire Clock Tower.”

A deep voice spoke out, and Fang Zheng turned his head to see a man completely wrapped in a red cloak quietly appear from the air, staring at the battlefield ahead.

”Magicians are not so easily killed, even with the bombardment of ship cannons, it can’t completely kill them. You could totally smash the entire Clock Tower to pieces and then send people to search for their bodies, wouldn’t that be better? Plus, with the Magic Crest, these people don’t even die.”

The man emitted a cold laugh at this point.

However, Fang Zheng shook his head.

”That’s why you’ll always just be an ASSASSIN.”

”But isn’t it the fastest way to achieve the goal?”

”Wrong.”

In response to the man’s rebuttal, Fang Zheng directly denied it.

”By your method, we can never achieve the goal. Listen up, we’re here not to kill anyone, but to completely destroy the curse that binds magicians, which has lasted for two thousand years. Invisible things are harder to destroy than visible ones, you can erase a person’s existence physically, but you cannot erase their spirit and will.

”But what does this have to do with capturing them alive?”

The man still seemed to not understand, and Fang Zheng shrugged.

”It’s simple, as I said, the Twelve Lords of the Clock Tower are not just magicians, nor are they simply powerful magicians; they are the ultimate rulers of the Clock Tower and the Mage’s Association. They represent today’s magic world, its rules, laws, operations—everything is established and maintained by these Twelve Lords. They are like the Kings of a nation.”

At this point, Fang Zheng reached out his hand.

”You can of course kill the King, but someone will still inherit the King’s legacy; they will persist and strive until they stand up again. Only when we abolish the position of the King in front of everyone and tell him to get lost can we truly prove...the arrival of an entirely new era.”

Fang Zheng’s right hand tightly gripped the burning black sun in the sky, then he turned his head and looked at the Servant behind him.

”So, you’re just an ASSASSIN. The establishment of an era has never depended on one person. Of course, I acknowledge that everyone has a leader. Just like constructing a building requires a chief designer to design the blueprints, and a Commander to lead an army for warfare. But they are just guides, leaders; building a tower doesn’t require a thousand designers, but a thousand workers. The battle isn’t won solely by generals pointing directions in the sandbox, but by ordinary soldiers charging forward.”

Fang Zheng lowered his hand, once again gazing at the distant ruins of the Clock Tower; spells were flickering inside, accompanied by dull explosions, seeming like the last wailings of an era.

”I’ve already pointed them in the right direction; now they need to blaze their own trail. Or do you believe that food left over by others still tastes good when stuffed into your mouth?”

”.........”

This time, the man said nothing. He remained silent for a moment before disappearing into the air once again.

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng opened his personal terminal.

”Play a song to boost the morale of our comrades below.”

”Understood, Commander.”

Soon, loud music began to echo in the sky.

”Arise, you slaves who starve and freeze! Arise, you suffering people of the world! Our full hearts are already boiling, to struggle for the truth...”

Amidst the song, the battle continued.

Burning fireballs whistled through the sky, striking the walls of the dilapidated ruins ahead. Soon, a revolving circular magical array appeared out of nowhere, blocking the advance of the fireballs. The explosive flames burst forth violently, but the raging fire could not hit the target. Instead, they quickly dispersed to the sides and vanished into the air.

”Misaya!”

”I know!”

Upon hearing Hana’s voice, Misaya quickly raised her head, reached out towards the broken walls ahead. Her white fingers flew swiftly through the air, and the next moment, invisible magical power surged out, spraying forth in a fan shape. With the impact of this powerful magical force, the magical defense array ahead easily shattered like glass.

Subsequently, Hana raised the gun in her hand and pulled the trigger. Soon, several magic missiles streaked across the sky like meteors, smashing the opposite wall into pieces. Along with the rising dust, several figures ran out, raising their hands high.

”I surrender, we surrender! Please stop! We are willing to surrender!!”

”Do not move, do not use Magic Crest, report your names!”

Hana raised her gun, aiming at several dusty-faced men in front of her. Faced with the dark muzzle, several men hesitated, then said softly.

”We are from the House of Archelot, employees from the Botanical Division...”

”Report your names!”

”Yug Seren.”

”Sanama...”

Faced with Kurotou Hana’s inquiry, several magicians had no choice but to state their names. But Kurotou Hana did not relax her vigilance, she still gripped the two guns in her hand, glancing at her companions. Soon she saw another Magical Girl open her personal terminal, after scanning and confirming the identities of the magicians in front of her, she nodded at Hana.

”Comparison successful, everything’s fine.”

”Very well, put the anti-magic handcuffs on them and take them away!”

”Yes!”

With Hana’s order, several World Tree of a Thousand Realms soldiers immediately stepped forward, producing a kind of black rectangular handcuffs, restraining those magicians. And after putting on the handcuffs, the magicians were surprised to find that their Magic Crests and Magic Circuits seemed to be imprisoned, leaving them completely unable to use them.

However, at this point, they had nothing more to say and could only be taken away dejectedly.

”Phew......”

It wasn’t until this moment that Hana finally lowered the dual pistols in her hands. Seeing this, Misaya next to her began to mock her.

”Tell me, Kurotou, how does this look like a spellcaster?”

”What’s wrong with that?”

Facing Misaya’s mockery, Hana rolled her eyes impatiently.

Hana was one of those who obtained a Magitech Device from Fang Zheng and successfully signed a contract to become a Magical Girl. However, when her Magitech Device unfolded, it had nothing to do with magic and took the form of two revolvers.

Of course, the form of the Magitech Device closely resembles the nature of the contracted Magical Girl, and there’s a wide variety of forms. But because this thing was so far removed from magic, Hana was often ridiculed by others in Liyuan.

For example, Ryougi Shiki once told her, ”This suits you...”

It almost made Hana draw her guns for a duel.

But......

”Do you think your Magitech Device is any better?”

Looking at the long spear in Misaya’s hand, Hana chuckled. The Magical Girls at Liyuan had more contact with the Red Ponytail, and they were well-acquainted with her frequent saying, ”Since ancient times, Lancers have unfortunate luck, and since ancient times, Archers are cool.” And now, with Linglong Hall’s Misaya’s Magitech Device unfolding into a long spear... she really wasn’t in a position to say anything to Hana.

”Hmph.”

Hearing this, Misaya wanted to retort, but just then, Fujino’s voice sounded in their ears.

”Kurotou-san, Misaya-san, now is not the time to argue, you need to meet up with Ryougi Shiki immediately, she’s in trouble!”

”What?”

Both of them were shocked to hear this. They were well aware of how powerful Ryougi Shiki’s strength was, yet now she was in trouble and needed support?

How could this be possible?

Though hard to believe, Ryougi Shiki was indeed in danger at the moment.

She looked pale, gasping for breath, and although the small knife in her hand was still intact, Ryougi Shiki’s own physical strength was nearly exhausted.

”What’s wrong? Is this all?”

In front of Ryougi Shiki stood a brown-haired woman with a single ponytail, holding a whip in one hand and coldly staring at Ryougi Shiki.

”I thought the Eye of Direct Death was something extraordinary, and it turns out to be nothing special. A Rainbow Magic Eye is wasted on you; a waste like you doesn’t deserve it at all.”

”Hmph!”

Hearing the woman’s words, Ryougi Shiki’s expression turned cold, and then she suddenly charged like a leopard at the woman.

However, facing Ryougi Shiki’s attack, the woman did not flinch; instead, she simply waved the whip lightly. In the next moment, a massive vacuum blade appeared, slicing through the earth and sky, sweeping towards Ryougi Shiki. Faced with the incoming vacuum magic blade, Ryougi Shiki unhesitatingly swung her knife to ”kill” it.

But at that moment, the woman slightly flicked her hand, and with her gesture, the gentle breeze in the air suddenly transformed into an iron hammer, crashing down heavily on Ryougi Shiki from above. Ryougi Shiki, clearly unaware of the attack from above, was directly slapped to the ground. Before she could react, the surrounding soil morphed into a swamp, engulfing her within.

”As expected of Barthomeloi, the strongest magician’s name is well deserved.”

Seeing this scene, Fang Zheng was not surprised. Barthomeloi was the core of the Mage’s Association and the ruler of the Clock Tower. To reach such a position, her strength was indisputable. Especially the woman before them—Barthomeloi Lorelei.

She was known as the magician closest to perfection, possessing the attribute of wind, the magecraft trait of omnipotence, and unmatched Magic Circuits.

Of course, if these facts don’t sufficiently illustrate her prowess, just mentioning her battle achievements would allow one to understand clearly.

This Young Lady once defeated two of The Twenty-Seven Ancestors and had been persistently hunting down and attempting to eliminate the de facto ruler of The Twenty-Seven Ancestors—Duke Tevanum Whitewing.

Having taken down two and pursuing the most formidable among the Dead Apostles, this Young Lady’s battle record stands out even in the Type Moon World. The name of the strongest magician is indisputable.

If Fang Zheng didn’t have warships and Servants beyond their time, defeating her would require him to take action personally.

In contrast, Ryougi Shiki still falls short. Although the Eye of Direct Death is immensely powerful, the wielder herself isn’t competent enough. In terms of combat power, Barthomeloi would be akin to a world champion level professional player, whereas Ryougi Shiki is still climbing the gold rank.

Thankfully, the Eye of Direct Death is formidable enough; otherwise, Ryougi Shiki might have been defeated outright by her opponent at first sight.

In fact, a regular Servant wouldn’t stand against her. To defeat Barthomeloi, at least an A-ranked Servant would be necessary. But this time, Fang Zheng did not intend to have any Servants intervene, nor did he plan to intervene himself.

This was a new era of warfare.

They could only rely on themselves now.
