Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1583: Chapter 1581: Fusion (Rolling, Tail-Pouncing, Spinning in Circles)

Standing by the porthole, looking at the Earth and the Stone Village floating outside the atmosphere, Misato Katsuragi was completely stunned.

”You... what exactly do you plan to do?”

”Just as I said before, seal away the EVA and the Black Moon. Keeping these things in this world does no good. Once retrieved, they will be thoroughly destroyed.”

Fang Zheng exchanged a few words with Akashi beside him, then answered Misato Katsuragi’s inquiry. At that moment, a massive, pitch-black, moon-like spherical object was slowly being extracted from the stratum by the Stone Village using planetary disintegration technology, gradually ascending...

”With such power, why don’t you just eliminate those Angels?”

Misato Katsuragi couldn’t help but ask, and Fang Zheng rolled his eyes.

”Are you suggesting that the Heavenly Dao Palace should rule this world?”

”This...”

At those words, Misato Katsuragi was suddenly at a loss for words. As the operations director of NERV, she clearly understood what Fang Zheng meant. No one would work for free, especially not against the Angels. If the Heavenly Dao Palace were to take action, their demanded compensation would probably be to rule the world—which would certainly not be acceptable.

Looking at NERV, it’s clear that when Angels attack, everyone can temporarily work together to assist NERV. But once the Angels are completely destroyed, NERV is also completely disbanded, and all those extraordinary powers are reclaimed. Thus, if the Heavenly Dao Palace were truly to intervene, once the Angels were annihilated, the world’s nations would surely go to war with the Heavenly Dao Palace.

”I’ve said before, our principle is non-interference with other worlds unless necessary. Of course, a crisis threatening the world’s or humanity’s destruction is a different matter.”

Like the Iron Ground, or Beastification, or the Human Instrumentality Project...

”Fang Zheng!”

However, just as Misato Katsuragi was about to ask more questions, suddenly, with a voice, the next moment Misato was shocked to see a girl with silver-white twin tails unfold wings like a Fairy’s, leaping from a high platform not far away, flying directly into Fang Zheng’s arms.

”You’re back.”

”I’m back, Neflen. Are you all okay?”

”Very well.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Neflen nodded.

”Do we not need to take action this time?”

”Not at the moment. The situation in this world isn’t as bad as yours...”

Seeing this scene, the people beside them were all dumbfounded. It took Asuka quite a while to react.

”Wait a minute, Fang Zheng, who is she? Isn’t she human?! And she has wings? And glows?”

”This child is called Neflen.”

Fang Zheng patted Neflen’s head and introduced her to Asuka and the others.

”She comes from the First Coordinate Point—uh, the same coordinate point as your world, only that world wasn’t as lucky as yours.”

”Lucky?”

Shinji Ikari looked at Fang Zheng doubtfully, wondering if he was being sarcastic. After all, the Second Impact caused so many deaths and was even considered the apocalypse for a time. How could it be called lucky?

”Of course, because in her world, humanity went extinct five hundred years ago.”

”What!?”

At this, the four were utterly shocked.

”That world is similar to yours, but somewhat different...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng also introduced the Golden Fairy World to the four. After listening to Fang Zheng’s introduction, Misato Katsuragi had a complex expression.

”So... are we all equally foolish?”

”Pretty much...”

To Misato Katsuragi’s words, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders; indeed, that’s the truth. To resist Beasts, people in that world created Golden Fairies using fragments of the Star God’s soul. And in this world, to resist the Angels, humanity copied the bodies of Adam and Lilith as samples for creating EVA units.

One uses souls, the other uses bodies—different paths lead to the same destination.

The final outcomes were nearly identical.

The people of that world went extinct five hundred years ago, and in this world, if not for Fang Zheng’s intervention, all of humanity would have turned into orange juice.

”Black Moon retrieval complete, requesting instructions.”

At this moment, the Stone Village had completely excavated the Black Moon from Earth, hiding it on the dark side of the Moon. This was undoubtedly a major project, but Fang Zheng was not worried about causing damage to the world’s essence. After all, this was all done with Sealing in place, so it wouldn’t trigger a Third Impact like in the movie and blow the entire place up.

Thus, Sealing is the perfect tool for committing all sorts of misdeeds; you could blow up the whole place, and once you retract the Sealing, no one would ever notice anything happened...

So next is...

”Rei.”

Fang Zheng looked at Rei Ayanami, his expression becoming serious.

”Are you ready?”

”......”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Rei Ayanami paused for a moment and then nodded.

”Yes.”

”Alright, let’s get started.”

”Wait...... Fang Zheng, will this really not have any bad effects on the First?”

Hearing this, Asuka also asked nervously. Fang Zheng hadn’t kept the matters concerning Rei Ayanami from them. It didn’t matter much to Asuka, but after Shinji Ikari learned that Rei Ayanami was a clone of his mother, he always felt a bit awkward around Rei......

”No, right now what we need to do is reintegrate the coordinates...... Rei’s main role is to connect them, but I will be using my own power......”

Fang Zheng didn’t intend for Rei Ayanami to follow the movie’s ending. She was different from Eluka; Eluka was already a Star God, possessing all the knowledge that a Star God should have, yet lacking common sense. Rei Ayanami, however, was an artificial body with Lilith’s soul, a sort of assembly product. In this situation, she couldn’t serve as a coordinate point.

Fortunately, Fang Zheng wasn’t completely without a solution to this problem.

If he had to say it...... he got his inspiration from Daji.

”Are you ready?”

”Yes.”

”Good, let’s go.”

With that, Fang Zheng snapped his fingers, and the next moment, he and Rei Ayanami vanished before everyone’s eyes, reappearing in the universe.

In front of them was the Black Moon suspended there, and the body of Lilith pierced by the Longias Lance, along with three EVAs.

”Let’s start with the EVA......”

Looking at the three EVAs in front of him, Fang Zheng sighed. He truly despised the EVA; it was nothing more than a flawed model of biological replication technology, going down the wrong path, and completely useless to the Heavenly Dao Palace. Moreover, it even required human souls...... Forget it, talking about this now is meaningless.

Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami expressed understanding about destroying the EVAs, though Asuka was somewhat displeased. Fang Zheng eventually had to play with her for half a day and even promised her a VF before Asuka reluctantly nodded her agreement.

Fang Zheng extended his hand, and soon a ball of Primordial Fire emerged from his hand, shooting out to swiftly envelop the three EVAs. In the blink of an eye, accompanied by a splendid firework-like brilliance, the three EVAs vanished completely into the pitch black space. Then, Fang Zheng waved his right hand, and as the flames disappeared, small points of light, shining like starlight, appeared in his hand.

The Order Coordinates of Adam and Lilith were now here.

”Li.”

Fang Zheng turned his head to look at Rei Ayanami beside him.

”The next part is up to you.”

”Alright.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Rei Ayanami nodded and reached out to take over the coordinate points from Fang Zheng’s hand, which seemed to be condensed from starlight. In the next moment, Rei Ayanami’s whole body transformed into a light beam and abruptly shot into Lilith’s body.

”—————!!”

In that instant, the red lance originally pierced into Lilith rapidly burst apart and dissipated. Subsequently, Lilith’s body began to gradually transform, just like in the movie, it slowly enlarged, becoming the form of Giant Rei. The enormous Rei Ayanami slowly opened her eyes, lightly raised her hands, and with her movements, the Black Moon suddenly shattered, transforming into a mass of fresh red mist that spread like blood, gradually seeping into the body of Giant Rei.

Then, Giant Rei slowly extended her hands toward the Earth, and her body began to decompose starting from her fingertips......

White fragments emitted a faint radiance, gradually breaking from Giant Rei’s fingertips, and like falling stars, vanished into the Earth, sea, and every part of the land. Lilith’s power and Lilith’s soul would thoroughly merge with Earth. They would repair the damage caused by the Second Impact, restoring Earth to its original form.

And this was Fang Zheng’s plan.

He didn’t intend to create a new Order Node; instead, he wanted to make the Earth of this world itself the Order Node. Given the form of civilization in this world, it’s not suitable for an existence like Eluka the Star God to appear, so Fang Zheng could only use the Earth itself as the host for the Order Node.

In a way, this could be considered as humanity returning to Lilith’s embrace...... Well, could it be wrong?

”Is this...... okay?”

Misato Katsuragi looked at this scene with complex feelings, unsure what to say.

”This will do.”

Fang Zheng, having somehow returned to her side, watched the gradually dispersing Giant Rei and nodded slightly.

”Starting tomorrow, the entire Earth will gradually recover. It’s up to you now. Protecting Earth means protecting your world, protecting your home.”

”.........”

This time, Misato Katsuragi didn’t speak. She remained silent for a moment, then nodded firmly.

”I understand, this mission...... I will definitely complete it.”
