Chapter 1557: Chapter 1555: The King’s Fall

The battle continued as Fang Zheng activated recording mode, aiming at the Barthomeloi’s battlefield.

Barthomeloi was the core of this war.

The Barthomeloi family stands at the pinnacle of magicians. Frankly speaking, they are the kings of magicians. That’s also why Fang Zheng did not agree with ASSASSIN’s suggestion; indeed, using the doomsday weapon to blast the Clock Tower to rubble and then pulling the nearly dead Barthomeloi from the ruins is easy.

But that wouldn’t destroy the old era.

Why do the historical rebel armies always capture the emperor alive when overthrowing the old dynasty?

Because the dead don’t have persuasiveness!

Therefore, capturing footage of Barthomeloi is necessary; it will be useful in the future.

Now, they could only rely on themselves.

Barthomeloi was formidable, arguably the strongest in Type Moon besides Mages, likely only rivaled or surpassed by Aertulky and her sister. Hmm, let’s keep her sister out of this for now; even though they are sisters, Arcueid didn’t really show much strength...

But, what of it?

Hana and the others learned magic from the Main World and signed contracts to become Magical Girls, so the odds should be about fifty-fifty. Next, it depends on how they respond.

”Distort!”

Just as Ryougi Shiki was about to be swallowed by the swamp, an invisible force condensed on her body and then tore apart the heavy soil and rock. Freed from the bind, Ryougi Shiki leaped out of the mire in haste. Seeing this, Barthomeloi squinted and raised the whip in her hand.

”Magic Missile Storm!”

At the same time, the radiant magic missiles exploded from Hana’s hand, which had finally arrived, whistling toward Barthomeloi. Watching the gleaming magic missiles, Barthomeloi didn’t even flinch. She just stood there, swung down her whip, and the missiles released by Hana vanished into smoke.

Simultaneously, Barthomeloi flickered in motion, and everyone saw a blur. In the next moment, she appeared before Hana, throwing a punch at her chest.

If this punch landed, Hana might have been lucky to escape with more than half her life. Yet, after all, she’s a mage.

”Boom!”

Before Barthomeloi’s fist could land, a giant golden hand descended from the sky, slamming her into the ground. Meanwhile, Hana quickly retreated, opened her right hand, and swiftly traced a magical aura through the air. Followed by a matchless chill, numerous enormous ice spikes descended, shattering everything before them into fragments.

However, before the ice storm could entirely end, a violent gale rose, sweeping everything away. Barthomeloi appeared within the whirlwind, ignoring the following golden hand. Her right hand clenched into a fist, and she punched toward Hana!

Just in time, as Barthomeloi’s fist approached Hana’s body, a layer of stone skin suddenly enveloped Hana. But at that moment, Barthomeloi’s fist struck Hana.

In the meantime, a flash of black light.

”Boom!!!”

With a sound akin to a missile explosion, Hana was blown away, flying over ten meters before crashing heavily to the ground. When she got up again, the stone skin on her body shattered.

”Are you kidding me? It collapsed with just one hit?”

Seeing this, Misaya, who cast the Stone Skin Technique earlier, was stunned. The Stone Skin Technique was her strongest protective spell at her rank, yet it only blocked one punch. How monstrous is this woman?

However, before Misaya could ponder further, Barthomeloi, after punching Hana away, flashed before her again with another punch!

Fortunately, as a Protection Class mage, Misaya was prepared. When Barthomeloi attacked again, a shimmering shield appeared with an azure magical glow, pushing Barthomeloi back. Concurrently, Ryougi Shiki leapt from behind Misaya, slashing her knife toward Barthomeloi without hesitation!

But Barthomeloi merely waved her hand, flinging Ryougi Shiki away. Soon, the glow of the magic crest flashed by, and the sharp Sword of Light pierced through Ryougi Shiki’s body, pinning her to the ground.

”Whew...”

From afar, Akiha arrived and breathed a sigh of relief, lowering her right hand. If she hadn’t used an illusion technique to save Ryougi Shiki at the last second, things might have worsened.

But the situation didn’t improve; Barthomeloi grew more frenzied in battle, and the girls could only rely heavily on magic and their Magical Girl powers. Hana focused on output, while Akiha and Misaya provided support, Fujino controlled the field, and Ryougi Shiki...she wanted to attack, but couldn’t find an opening.

Although Barthomeloi spoke as if Ryougi Shiki was useless, she remained wary of the Eye of Direct Death, giving Ryougi Shiki no chance to exploit.

Amid this standoff, the situation became deadlocked.

Barthomeloi was indeed immensely strong, yet the spells from Hana and the others weren’t trivial. Among them, Hana and Misaya had nearly reached the cusp of the Fifth Ring Spell, and besides Ryougi Shiki, the others had successfully advanced to the Fourth Ring.

It’s worth noting, only Ryougi Shiki was still a Level Three Transmutation Mage.

”This can’t go on.”

Seo Shizune, who connected the entire field, felt anxious.

”I just asked, and Little Hong said this fight is entirely up to us; no one else will intervene!”

”What do we do then? With this one’s power, we probably can’t capture her even with more people.”

Hearing this, Hana grew more anxious.

”Little Hong said we can do it; let’s think of a way...”

”My Eye of Direct Death...can’t get close to her unless everyone diverts her attention.”

For the first time, Ryougi Shiki set aside her deep-seated pride. Previously, when her team encountered Barthomeloi, everyone except Ryougi Shiki was annihilated in an instant. Even Ryougi Shiki herself did not benefit much; the biggest flaw of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception lies in Ryougi Shiki’s limited field of vision. Even with enhanced perception and speed granted by transmutation magecraft, she couldn’t address everything.

”Her magecraft is so powerful, and her reactions are so quick. I think we really have no way to...”

”.........”

Everyone discussed for a long time but couldn’t come up with any good ideas. At this moment, Fujino suddenly brightened up.

”But no matter how strong she is, she’s still a Magician, right? That means she likely has that thing called a Magic Crest? Is a Magic Crest considered a kind of magic artifact?”

”This......”

Faced with Fujino’s question, the girls were also stunned. The question was so outlandish that they couldn’t immediately respond.

”Perhaps we could try... if a Magic Crest is considered a magic artifact, then I might be able to disable it! Even if it’s just for an instant, if it loses its effect, perhaps we can subdue her!”

”Let’s give it a try!”

At this moment, Hana also made up her mind.

”As long as we can hinder her for a second, we’ll immediately put the Anti-Magic Handcuffs on her. By then, even the most powerful Magician won’t have any moves left!”

”Take action!”

As an action-oriented person, Hana didn’t hesitate at all. After making the decision, she shouted loudly, then raised the dual guns in her hand.

”Scorching Meteor, full field coverage mode activation!”

With Hana’s roar, the two guns in her hand instantly disassembled and reassembled into several Floating Cannons, then began to wildly unleash all their firepower into the battlefield before them. At the same time, Hana quickly cast a spell, summoning Fireballs and hurling them in all directions.

For a moment, the battlefield before them was filled with explosions and assaults everywhere, with countless smoke and flames completely enveloping Barthomeloi.

However, in the next moment, space began to distort, ripping through the air as blades roared across the entire field. But Ryougi Shiki had already rushed forward, her small knife slashing down again toward the pitch-black spatial blade, dissipating it. But this time, Barthomeloi did not continue to dodge; perhaps she was already tired of playing house with these young girls here, so this time, Barthomeloi went straight for a lethal move!

She flashed past, her right hand glowing with magecraft brilliance, striking directly towards Ryougi Shiki’s head. At the same time, the surrounding space began to distort and shatter again, clinging to Ryougi Shiki’s body like a Black Hole.

”Photon Spirit Spear!”

Just as Barthomeloi was about to decapitate Ryougi Shiki with a single strike, a lightning-imbued spear suddenly flew in from the side, directly hitting Barthomeloi’s right hand and skewing it. Nonetheless, Barthomeloi’s expression remained unchanged, and she retaliated with a spinning kick, sending Misaya, who was holding the spear tightly, flying with a scream.

But this gave Fujino an opportunity.

This was the opportunity she needed.

”Twist!”

Invisible power re-emerged, firmly binding Barthomeloi. The immense power began to warp, attempting to tear the woman before her to pieces.

But, something that was deadly to countless Magicians—the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception—didn’t seem to affect Barthomeloi. She just stood there, her whole body emitting a radiant glow from her Magic Crest, resisting Fujino’s Mystic Eye.

”Ugh... Ah...”

At this moment, Fujino was also struggling, clenching her teeth as her glowing Mystic Eye trembled unceasingly. The strength of Barthomeloi’s power far exceeded what Fujino could imagine; she could even feel as if her Mystic Eye was being held by the enemy and slowly twisted.

Blood trickled down the corner of her eye, sliding down her cheek; the scalding heat almost seemed to burn her brain. Yet even so, Fujino continued to grit her teeth, forcing herself to move her fingers, chanting the final incantation. She then raised her hand and pointed forcefully at Barthomeloi.

”Magic Dispel!!”

An emerald green beam shot out from Fujino’s fingertip, hitting Barthomeloi. At the same time, Fujino finally lost consciousness and slowly collapsed on the ground.

However, her plan finally took effect.

”Ahhhh!!”

Mystic power instantly dispelled the Magic Crest’s activation, and the recoil was excruciating for Barthomeloi—just like a car moving at two hundred kilometers per hour abruptly slammed on the brakes. The immense rebound of Magic Power suddenly broke through the boundaries of the body, bursting forth.

With a scream, Barthomeloi dropped to her knees, her body erupting in sprays of blood. At the same time, the magic that bound Ryougi Shiki lost control and vanished without a trace.

”Now! Quickly, Akiha, Shiki!!”

Shouting loudly, Hana dashed over in a single bound, grabbing Barthomeloi’s right hand, then took out the prepared Anti-Magic Handcuffs and swung them fiercely onto Barthomeloi’s wrist!

”Let go of me!”

Despite enduring excruciating pain, Barthomeloi did not give up, roaring as she delivered a heavy punch directly to Hana’s face. But even with a broken nose, Hana still held tightly onto Barthomeloi’s arm, swinging the Anti-Magic Handcuffs in her hand, trying to cuff the enemy before her.

”Seize!”

Meanwhile, Akiha rushed over as well. She shouted, and her originally pitch-black long hair instantly turned fiery red, floating forward like tentacles, tightly binding Barthomeloi’s body. Seizing this opportunity, Ryougi Shiki also pounced from the other side, bringing down the Anti-Magic Handcuffs in her hand with force.

”Click, click!”

The two pairs of pitch-black Anti-Magic Handcuffs snapped onto Barthomeloi’s wrists just like that.

And with that, the reign of the Monarch of King’s Landing Magical World, came to its end.
