Chapter 1045: Chapter 1044: Foolish Organic Lifeforms

Just like that, in the midst of arguments, the three of them discussed the entire night, and finally created the new form for the Geth.

As for the result...

”Yo, Fang Zheng, you’re here.”

Waking up after a good night’s sleep, Sister Xue chuckled at the yawning Fang Zheng and waved her hand towards him.

”So, how did your ’Geth Transformation Plan’ go?”

”Not bad, of course, how effective it is will still depend on circumstances.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng patted the shoulder of a young girl beside him.

”Well then, I’ll leave her with you. I’m going back to get some sleep... Don’t forget to notify me when you leave... Whew...”

”What? What do you mean you’ll leave her with me?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Shupard was taken aback, and only then looked at the girl beside Fang Zheng. She was about 1.6 to 1.7 meters tall, with short, straight silver-white hair, a refined and unique face wearing plain glasses, which combined with her expressionless face was somewhat cute. And the girl was wearing something like a Normandy crew member uniform...

Wait a minute, those seams in the arm and elbow are...

”Are you...?”

Upon closer inspection, Shupard realized the girl in front wasn’t ’wearing’ a spacesuit; rather, her body was entirely mechanical! Not only that, on both sides of the ”girl’s” head were two long black diamond-shaped blocks, like wires or some sort of reception device...

”Hello, Commander Shupard.”

At this moment, the ”girl” stepped forward, adjusted her glasses, and with a calm and clear voice, she spoke.

”May I ask if our interface meets your satisfaction?”

”Wait... Are you that... Geth?”

Upon hearing this, Shupard was utterly shocked. Although she had some suspicions and premonitions earlier, seeing this girl robot appear in front of her, she still couldn’t connect her with the previously strange snake-headed ”evil creature.”

”Ah... Uh, very nice.”

Gazing at the Geth in front of her with wide eyes, Shupard could only nod blankly, while the mechanical girl tilted her head in curiosity.

”Your reaction is strange; your tone is more polite and courteous than before. We analyze you’re treating us as an equal member...

”Well... just like that, you can help with the repairs of the Normandy...”

What else could Shupard say to this? After all, she had talked with Anderson, who allowed her to go stop the Reaper’s plot. Initially, Anderson wasn’t optimistic about integrating the Geth into the Citadel, but now... Hmm, Shupard suddenly felt that if it were like this, maybe the Geth wouldn’t be entirely without a chance?

With this thought in mind, Shupard tagged along with the Geth girl on the Normandy to see what other crew members thought of the current Geth’s new form.

Soon, Shupard watched the Geth girl approach Kaiden, who was repairing cables in the warehouse.

”Hello, Lieutenant Kaiden, is there anything we can assist with?”

”Oh? Ah...”

Hearing the Geth girl’s query, Kaiden looked up, surprised for a moment.

”Who are you?”

”We are the new members of the Normandy.”

”Oh... Your way of speaking is strange. Could you help sort out the circuits over there? It’s a complete mess here.”

”Of course, no problem.”

The Geth girl nodded, walked to the wall, unfolded a multi-tool, and turned it on the circuits. Quickly, the previously chaotic circuits were restored, and the out-of-control systems returned to normal.

”Yo, nicely done.”

Seeing this, Kaiden smiled and gave the Geth girl a thumbs-up.

”Miss, you’re quite skilled. How about going for a drink with me after work?”

”No, I have other work to do.”

The Geth girl coldly turned down Kaiden’s invitation. However, it didn’t bother the burly man; on the contrary, he scratched his head with a grin and backed away a bit, slightly embarrassed.

”Well... sorry, go ahead with your work. I won’t bother you.”

Shupard: ”.........???”

Kaiden, have you lost your mind?!

Then Shupard saw the Geth girl leaving the warehouse, headed towards the weapons room... Hmm, Gelas is over there, he’s a very focused and serious Turui. He shouldn’t be swayed like this.

With this thought in mind, Shupard also headed towards the weapons room, where she then saw the Geth girl discussing the Element Zero Cannon with Gelas.

”Turui weapon design is peculiar, but we think it could still be streamlined. For instance, your sniper rifle, from our Geth perspective, your data settings are overly complicated... May we help you adjust it?”

”Certainly.”

Speaking, Gelas handed over his sniper rifle, which the Geth girl started adjusting— wait a minute, Gelas, what are you doing? That’s a Geth! You previously said to lock it in the warehouse! And to disarm it, and now you’re handing over your gun? Isn’t that your lifeblood?!

Watching the two talking happily, Shupard felt like she couldn’t believe her eyes.

After the exchanges between the two were finished, the Geth girl left the weapons room and headed to the engine control room— where Tali was overseeing. Tali certainly wouldn’t let this go easily; she’s a Quillan, and the Quillan and Geth have a long-standing grudge! Besides, that’s the engine control room! Tali wouldn’t let others mess with it, right?

With this thought in mind, Shupard once again sneakily followed the Geth girl to the engine control room. At this moment, Miss Tali was at the console, working on engine repairs.

”Hello, is there anything where we could assist?”

The Geth girl asked as she entered, and Miss Tali glanced at the Geth girl, startled.

”Wait, you are...?”

”We are Geth.”

The Geth girl placed her hand on her chest, calmly replying. Hearing this, Shupard was ready for Tali to suddenly escalate. She had even thought about how to rush in and clean up if necessary.

However, to Shupard’s surprise, Tali didn’t flare up as before. Instead, she looked the Geth girl up and down in surprise, then curiously asked.

”You’re that... Geth? How did you become like this?”

”Fang Zheng and his companions remade my personal interface.”

The Geth girl spoke while looking at her body.

”We think this body is cumbersome, and has many meaningless decorations. As a member of the creator race, what do you think?”

”Ah... Uh...”

Confronted with the Geth girl’s question, Tali clearly didn’t know how to respond for a moment. Even without seeing her face, Shupard could hear that Miss Tali was quite conflicted inside. Eventually, she reluctantly nodded.

”Hmm... it’s not bad... I think... it’s quite good...”

Shupard: ”.........”

When Fang Zheng woke up again and returned to the Normandy, the first thing he saw was Shupard sitting on a box, looking up and contemplating life.

”Yo, Sister Xue? How’s it going?”

”.........”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Shupard silently turned her head, looked at Fang Zheng, and then showed a self-deprecating smile.

”Indeed, just as you said, we are truly foolish organic beings...”
