Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1012: Chapter 1011: Little Bunny, Open the Door

Katie’s father considered himself very cautious.

Early the next morning, he first appeared at the merchant association, took stock of the accounts, and outlined his itinerary. Then, he arranged a time to have lunch with one of the association’s chairmen. After lunch, he took a carriage to his residence on the west side of Silver City. After switching through three carriages, changing clothes four times, and choosing five different hiding spots, Katie’s father, now ”fully armed,” finally followed the dirty, foul-smelling sewers to the gathering place.

”Ah, Lord White Face.”

Upon seeing Katie’s father appear at the gathering site, another cultist wearing a black mask chuckled softly.

”Hello, Lord Black Face.”

Hearing the colleague’s greeting, Katie’s father frowned slightly. However, wearing a white mask, his expression remained unseen.

But the Black Face clearly did not intend to stop there. He chuckled darkly a couple of times and once again looked at Katie’s father.

”I heard that recently your merchant association’s business hasn’t been going too smoothly. That’s quite unusual, isn’t it...?”

”Please watch your words.”

Upon hearing this, Katie’s father’s expression instantly darkened.

He was a high-ranking member of the Doomsday Church and also a powerful Prophet Mage. In fact, even among prophecy mages, different specializations lead to different effects. As a Time Dragon, Fang Zheng was better at fate exploration and investigation, while Katie’s father excelled at altering fate.

In other words, he could transfer others’ good fortune to himself and shift his own misfortune onto others.

In Katie’s father’s view, foreseeing the future itself was not advisable, as there are countless directions for the future, and any choice could trigger unforeseeable chain reactions. Perhaps you think you’ve made a reasonable and correct decision now. However, it’s very likely to bring unforeseen disaster a few years later.

Therefore, Katie’s father was not enthusiastic about predicting the future. In his view, no matter how fate unfolded, as long as luck was on his side, he would definitely have the last laugh.

So, Katie’s father chose this path.

For this reason, ever since joining the Doomsday Church, Katie’s luck had been consistently good. Although there were many sleazy and secret conspiracies within the Doomsday Church, Katie’s father, guided by his luck, managed to enter the Council of Destruction smoothly and successfully became one of the council members.

Of course, everyone knew Katie’s father’s luck was quite good. In fact, tasks he took on rarely went wrong, and even if they did, they developed in a favorable direction.

Therefore, the sudden eruption of so many problems in the Holy Silver Merchant Association within a short period didn’t escape the notice of some observant individuals.

”Just some small troubles, nothing significant. Issues like these occasionally arise.”

Though inwardly troubled, Katie’s father still mustered his spirits and coldly replied. In the Council of Destruction, everyone was a blood-soaked executioner; to Katie’s father, each individual was a competitor. In the Doomsday Church, there were no notions of collegiality; it was more akin to a pack of wolves. Any individual showing weakness would be pounced upon and devoured by the others.

Katie’s father had once been part of such a pack, but now, he had no intention of being devoured by other wolves.

He was relieved that when he went to the merchant association today, everything seemed normal, which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief. It seemed that his plan was successful. If his predictions were correct, Katie should now be besieged by her mother’s evil spirit, suffering the backlash of misfortune.

Such a pity, though.

Thinking this, Katie’s father felt somewhat regretful. The reason he initially found Katie’s family was his luck; back then, just after ”absorbing” another competitor’s ”good fortune,” he found Katie’s mother through prophecy spells and learned of her future.

The Chosen One.

Not everyone would have the chance to encounter someone like that. Originally, Katie’s father planned to wait until Katie grew a little older, and then have her bear children for him to continue the bloodline of the Chosen One for better gains. But now...just the thought of having to find someone else to continue his fortune annoyed him.

However, as long as today’s ritual went smoothly, there shouldn’t be any issues in the short term.

Thinking this, Katie’s father adjusted his black robe and then confidently strode towards the end of the corridor.

”The time is almost here.”

Seeing those few moving red shadows on the personal terminal, Fang Zheng flashed a smile. At this moment, she—no, he had already returned to his usual attire, removing the Magical Girl outfit. After all, with the target present, Fang Zheng no longer needed to worry about his identity being exposed.

”Yui.”

”Yes, Dad.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s summons, Yui’s little head popped up from the edge of the screen, curiously gazing at him.

”Control the Ship of Inheritance, listen to my commands, and prepare to activate the Recombination Device at any moment.”

”Okay!”

Yui nodded vigorously, and then Fang Zheng watched as she instantly turned into a string of blue characters, disappearing into the personal terminal.

To be honest, ever since returning to the Main World, Fang Zheng hadn’t noticed any particularly strong power from Yui’s so-called ”Divine Power Seed.” If anything, Yui had a higher priority in electronic systems compared to Nymph. This meant that in fields like electronic systems and cyberspace, Yui possessed the highest priority level.

However, outside the electronic network, Yui had no advantage over Nymph. She couldn’t invade others’ brains, control Magic, or manipulate reality information for reconfiguration like Nymph could. If anything, Yui was like having maxed out an ”Electronic Control” skill with no points in other skills.

This naturally created a gap compared to Nymph, who had an ”A” in Universal Skill Level.

Regarding the situation on Katie’s end, Kurumi had recently contacted Fang Zheng to inform him. Truth be told, Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised, but Kurumi’s description of Katie as the Chosen One piqued his interest.

Why? Because it’s ”Europe”!

In the Prophecy System, the term ”Chosen One” academically referred to ”Europeans”—those with uncannily good fortune from birth until death, always winning lotteries, having extraordinary luck in draws, landing critical hits consistently, fighting bosses always yielding rare loot, and avoiding trap activations—the Luck Emperor type.

After learning about Katie’s identity, Fang Zheng finally understood why the previous journey was so arduous. The Chosen One’s luck was explosive, leading to misfortune for others—basically, Fang Zheng and his group had experienced the opposite of Katie’s would-be good fortunes.

Given that, not encountering a Dragon was indeed... quite lucky.

Or quite unlucky?

Never mind, dwelling on this is meaningless now.

Fang Zheng shook his head, then stood up and glanced around.

The Doomsday Church didn’t opt for a relatively desolate and concealed location for this ceremony. On the contrary, they chose the city center square of Silver City.

This was the Doomsday Church’s goal; indeed, only by holding the ceremony here could they reap the maximum benefits.

But for Fang Zheng, none of this mattered.

Without looking at the people around him, he directly extended his hand. Soon, a flash of light and a pitch-black greatsword appeared in Fang Zheng’s hand.

Seeing this young man suddenly draw a weapon, the surrounding people curiously glanced at him, while the guards nearby frowned, gripping their sword hilts and approaching.

However, Fang Zheng completely ignored them. He raised the greatsword high and forcefully stabbed it into the ground.

Simultaneously, Fang Zheng uttered a low shout.

”Sealing.”
