Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1001: Chapter 1000: Give Me a Chance to Be the Tiger!

To a necromancer, night is Heaven.

Standing on the hillside and gazing at the faint lights below, the necromancer couldn’t help but show a peculiar smile. He had been doing experiments for several days, and his ”material” was basically depleted. He originally intended to leave after finishing the experiments, but due to some hiccups, he had to stay.

This necromancer wasn’t a fool; he knew that Gray Whale Harbor was sending people to search for him. Although the soldiers hadn’t been very active in the past few days, it wasn’t a good sign. Clearly, they’re waiting for the Sanctuary’s holy practitioners to take over, and when that happens, it would be difficult for him to escape.

As a necromancer with roadside ambush skill A, he pretty much understood the reaction he’d face upon appearing. Generally, if he appeared for a short time, it wouldn’t displease those in power, and their soldiers wouldn’t spend much time investigating.

After all, necromancers differ from regular criminals. If you die in combat with a criminal, you’re simply dead. But if you die at the hands of a necromancer, it’s not just about death. The necromancer will control your body and bind your soul... Alright, though most lower-rank necromancers can’t do this, the rural folk’s superstitions have helped him in many ways.

So, according to the necromancer’s prediction, these days are the ”safe period.”

But staying longer might turn problematic. If he’s here too long, Gray Whale Harbor’s important figures might get hurt, and then they’ll really start taking action, those damn holy practitioners...

Just because the experiment hadn’t ended completely, the necromancer went to the roadside again, to see if he could find some prey.

And now, he indeed found prey.

Of course, as a ”professional robber,” the necromancer was cautious. He knew the stories of many who were careless and ended up falling on their path to discovering the truth.

But this time, he felt pretty confident.

According to the information returned by his familiar spirits, this convoy had only four girls in total, all reasonably young, and from outward appearances, there seemed to be no mages.

But it was strange to see no guards. A few pretty girls, daring to travel without guards, were either desperate or completely fearless.

It felt regretful to let them go...

Perhaps it would be better to send a few necromancer creatures to scout first. If they’re manageable, he’ll capture them, but if they’re not... relocating would be wise.

Thinking this, the necromancer raised his hand and began to chant the spell text softly. Soon, dark red negative energy started to shimmer with his actions...

And at that moment, a soft laugh suddenly came to his ear.

”Chronos — Seventh Bullet.”

Someone was there!

Upon hearing the voice, the necromancer was shocked, and before he could finish the spell, accompanied by the sound of a gunshot, the necromancer’s time completely froze and halted.

At this, Kurumi elegantly emerged from the necromancer’s shadow like an elf in the night. She then raised the long spear held in her right hand and pulled the trigger.

”Bang bang bang bang bang!!”

A series of gunshots rang out, piercing the necromancer’s head, limbs, and heart. The next moment, as time resumed its flow, the necromancer’s incomplete body collapsed with a thud and was slowly swallowed by the shadows, disappearing without a trace.

”With that, the problem is resolved.”

Kurumi smiled slightly, watching the necromancer’s body disappear completely into the shadow, then she stepped back and vanished within the shadow.

”Now, it’s time to find dinner materials.”

When Kurumi reappeared in front of everyone, she was carrying two little white rabbits.

Plump, round, and white.

Their pair of red eyes, filled with unease and confusion, looked at this world, seemingly unaware of what they were about to face.

”Are we... going to eat this?”

Seeing the cute and naive little rabbits in front of her, Katie hesitated.

”Skinned, gutted, boiled with a bit of salt, they taste quite good.”

Seeing the plump little rabbits, Fang Zheng was drooling. He recalled that, since becoming Red Ponytail, he seemed particularly bound to rabbits. The first time he caught a rabbit, he didn’t get to eat it before Yuzhu scared it off, but this time... he couldn’t let it escape.

”But... these rabbits are so cute...”

Though Katie was a thief young lady, she had the common ailment of young ladies. Such people ate meat already processed by chefs, indifferent to what part of the animal it came from. To these young ladies, ”meat” and ”animals” were completely different concepts and couldn’t be confused.

But Fang Zheng had ways to deal with young ladies like this.

”Katie, you see, we can’t let these rabbits go uneaten.”

”Huh? Why?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng, Katie, surprised, widened her eyes at him. Fang Zheng reached out to take a rabbit from Kurumi’s hand, holding it by the ears, and then stroked the rabbit’s belly. The rabbit twitched slightly.

”Look, isn’t it soft when you touch here?”

”... It’s soft.”

Following Fang Zheng, Katie gently tapped the rabbit’s soft belly with a finger, nodding in agreement. Fang Zheng sighed as he watched Katie.

”Softness isn’t good, you know? This rabbit has internal injuries from fighting; its internal organs are shattered inside, making it soft like a water bag.”

”Huh... huh???”

”If things go on like this, it will die painfully. Do you see how it’s trembling?”

As Fang Zheng spoke, he stared at the rabbit, releasing a bit of Dragon Might. As expected, the rabbit quickly began shivering. Seeing this, Katie nodded obediently.

”Ah, it’s indeed trembling...”

”We have no way to save it. Think about it, if your organs are shattered, how painful would that be? Do you want to die painfully or have a quick end?”

”Well... um... I...”

Hearing this, Katie had nothing to say. She hesitated but eventually nodded.

”But, the other rabbit...”

”It also has internal injuries; both rabbits were injured during the fight.”

”Oh...”

”So leave it to me.”

Speaking, Fang Zheng took over the other rabbit from Kurumi’s hand.

”These two rabbits sustained internal injuries during the fight and can’t be saved; we’ll take them to the river... one for stew, one roasted, let’s enjoy some good food. It’s not right to let them die in vain, is it?”

”Yes, I understand.”

Upon hearing this, Katie nodded emphatically, then clasped her hands and looked at the rabbits in Fang Zheng’s hands, closing her eyes.

”Little rabbits, it’s painful being injured, sorry, we can’t save you.”

The rabbit: ”Squeak squeak... squeak squeak squeak...???”

I’m not, I don’t!

I think I could still be saved!
