Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1035: Chapter 1034: Following the Protagonist Brings Trouble Everywhere

As a soldier of the Star Alliance and a Ghost of the Citadel, Shupard had been through countless battles, and thought she’d seen it all, yet now... Shupard had to admit, this was something new for her.

”Wow, Natsuse, look, this thing is so interesting...”

”Nobiru, don’t mess with other people’s things...”

”Illya, let’s go to the bar for a drink!”

”Huh? We can’t drink alcohol...”

”So this is how they throw out trash... Hmm... it doesn’t feel very eco-friendly...”

The Normandy now resembled a large children’s playground. The little girls were running around, jumping up and down, darting everywhere. Shupard could only watch in speechless disbelief.

”Sorry about that, Commander Shupard.”

Fang Zheng, in a formal suit and holding a wine glass, sat on a chair nearby, petting a kitten in his lap and smiling at her.

”These kids mean no harm, they’re just... curious.”

”I understand... it’s no big deal.”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s response, Shupard didn’t know what to say, but honestly, she didn’t mind. After all, traveling through space was incredibly dull. Having a few lively kids jumping and playing was rather refreshing. Besides, these children were adorable and well-behaved, their liveliness didn’t disrupt anyone, so everyone on the Normandy was friendly towards them.

”So, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

Shupard didn’t realize that the young man in front of her was the same Giant Dragon she had encountered before, so she reported to him seriously.

”Since you all are traveling with the Normandy, we need to clarify our plans... The Normandy is severely damaged and must first return to the nearest repair base for repairs. Then we will investigate the recent series of ship disappearances in another nebula...”

”Is it about that ship that attacked you before?”

Fang Zheng was aware of the incident, and Shupard did not hide it from him.

”Of course, it’s a very serious matter, and we must investigate where that ship came from... It’s not a Heavenly Dao Palace ship, is it?”

”Of course not.”

Petting the kitten, Fang Zheng casually replied, glancing at Kurumi sitting next to him and the white cat in her arms.

It was strange that even though the white cat seemed to be bigger than the kitten and was summoned from the Soulstone by Fang Zheng, it appeared to be very afraid of the kitten. Fang Zheng remembered when he first brought the white cat to greet the kitten, it was so terrified at the sight of the kitten that it cowered into a ball, shivering and not daring to move.

Yeah... even now it doesn’t dare to move.

”Commander!”

At this moment, Shupard’s deputy came over to report to Shupard.

”We’re about to arrive at the Dawn Space Station.”

”Send them a message, notify them that we’re entering the space station for repairs—and remember to report that another ship is following us.”

On this trip, Fang Zheng wasn’t about to sit on the Normandy all the time; bringing people aboard for fun was one thing, but he couldn’t always stay with them.

Moreover, most protagonists in space stories seem to bring shipwreck attributes, and the Chief Officer is one of them. Fang Zheng estimated that this one was no different.

Like before, outside the Nomadic Galaxy, if Leander hadn’t been following, and Rodney hadn’t been there to keep an eye out, the Normandy would have been lost long ago.

For safety’s sake, Fang Zheng decided to stay on his own warship.

Soon, a large space station on the planet’s orbit came into view, and Joker quickly initiated communication.

”This is SSV Normandy, requesting permission to dock.”

—————

However, there was no response from the other side.

”???”

Both Shupard and Joker were taken aback by this and Joker tried again.

”This is SSV Normandy, Space Station, please respond, do you hear me?”

......

”No response, Commander.”

”Something seems off.”

Shupard became serious, walking to the bow of the ship, looking toward the space station ahead. It appeared like a deathly silent Ghost House amidst the Pitch Black of space, with only the occasional cold light flickering.

”What should we do?”

”Manual navigation, prepare to dock.”

Shupard gave a very leading-man-style order.

”We must conduct a comprehensive repair of the Normandy.”

Of course, Shupard had no choice but to give this order. Although Normandy wasn’t severely damaged in the previous battle, Fang Zheng didn’t have the Star Alliance’s standard repair facilities. Even if Fang Zheng was willing to help with the repairs, Shupard wouldn’t allow him to handle the most advanced Star Alliance warship freely and do whatever he wanted...

If it got broken and they left, what about her ship’s reputation?

But without systematic repairs, the upcoming journey would be troublesome for the Normandy.

The Dawn Space Station is the nearest large repair facility within the Citadel’s range, where Shupard initially planned to conduct repairs, however... what’s the situation here?

Only by going in will they find out.

Thinking this, Shupard sighed helplessly, then she returned to Fang Zheng, who was enjoying his kitten, bowed to him, and explained the current situation.

”... We will proceed with warship repairs at the Dawn Space Station, it’s unclear what’s happening there, so...”

”No problem, we can send some people to help, since we’re companions now, it’s good to look out for each other.”

Fang Zheng directly offered his suggestion; he wasn’t surprised by Shupard’s description—after all, if you’re the main character, encountering unexpected events is a given, right?

Plus, unexpected events are interesting; otherwise, why did I go through all this trouble to come here, if not to join the fun?

If Shupard knew what Fang Zheng was thinking, she might very well want to beat him up.

Soon, with manual guidance, the Normandy and Iona entered the docking area of the Dawn Space Station one after the other. With a ”click,” the white artificial light turned on, illuminating the entire docking area brightly.

However, it was still deserted here.

That’s interesting.

Looking out the porthole at the scene outside, Fang Zheng squinted his eyes, then secretly typed a message into his personal terminal.
