Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1009: Chapter 1008: Just as Expected

Azure sky, wilderness, desert, Gobi.

A frail person, clad in a black robe, slowly advanced into the depths.

A low voice, as if emanating from thousands of miles away, echoed in the ears.

”The demons that once vanished will resurrect, disguising themselves as humans, walking among mortals... and then fear will spread throughout the world.”

As the voice spoke, the earth began to tremble.

”The sky will rain fire, the sea will turn blood red, justice will fall in hellfire, and all living beings will tremble before the burning hell!”

Scorching fire meteors roared down, covering the entire land, flames rampantly blazing, as terrifying demon creatures marched out from the Gates of Hell in stride, aligned in formation, advancing forward.

Meanwhile, the figure in the flames shuddered. He screamed and kneeled on the ground, his body beneath the black robe twisting, shapeshifting, and expanding like a formless creature.

The next moment, pitch-black shadows suddenly erupted from the black-robed figure, enveloping everything.

A dim scene replaced the boundless sea of fire, in that dark and evil hall, the evil lords on their thrones slowly lifted their heads. They let out angry roars and cunning laughter, as the kneeling silhouette of the black-robed figure gradually changed into the form of a short-haired girl, yet the next moment, her body was once again engulfed in flames.

Soon, everything returned to darkness, and afterward, a tall figure slowly rose from the flames.

”Even in the highest heavens, angels will feel fear...”

......

Fang Zheng opened his eyes silently, looking at the Soulstone in his hand that shimmered with a dark red radiance, and after a long while, he sighed deeply.

What can be said... sigh...

Forget it, this is also a normal operation.

Fang Zheng lamentably realized he was getting increasingly accustomed to drawing the boss.

Counting the Soulstones currently in his possession: Arthas, Kerrigan, Malthael, Ritual Snake, Star Forging Dragon King, and just recently... Diablo.

Indeed, strengthening my own power is the way to go.

If I solely rely on the system to draw Soulstones, I’m afraid I’d be duped to death.

However... Diablo turned out to be Fantasy Grade?

Looking at the Soulstone in his hand, Fang Zheng couldn’t quite understand. It’s not like he hasn’t played Diablo, sure, Diablo as a boss appears in every iteration. But aside from having vitality as tenacious as Xiaoqiang, how come you can’t kill it, Fang Zheng felt it wasn’t particularly powerful compared to the Ritual Snake and Star Forging Dragon King?

At least the Ritual Snake can create worlds, and the Star Forging Dragon King can create and destroy stars.

And Diablo... I fear even Sargeras is stronger than it.

If you drew Sargeras, that’d be understandable, but Diablo...

Fang Zheng shook his head, then put the Soulstone away. Although he felt Diablo itself wasn’t quite Fantasy Grade, he had to admit, this Soulstone was rather convenient for Fang Zheng to use in battle.

At least much more reliable than directly summoning the Star Forging Dragon King.

Calming his frame of mind, Fang Zheng opened a few more Light Orbs consecutively, but didn’t find anything worthwhile. Instead, the last Light Orb brought a bit of surprise to Fang Zheng, it was a Silver Level Soul Summoning Stone. Upon activation, Fang Zheng witnessed the Soulstone erupt in a blast of cold blizzard, and subsequently, an adorable little white cat appeared within.

”Aiya, another cat, how wonderful!”

Seeing the cat, Fang Zheng immediately picked it up, indulging in the pleasure of petting! Coincidentally, the little kitten at home needed a companion, bringing this little white cat back as a buddy was just perfect!

Moreover, this little white cat also sported a white, large bow on its neck, which seemed to pair nicely with the blue bow on the little kitten’s tail.

Fang Zheng reached out, scooping up the little white cat and gave it a gentle stroke. However, unlike the affectionate little kitten at home, this white cat seemed quite aloof, nestling in Fang Zheng’s arms without even a meow. Even when Fang Zheng wiggled his fingers in front of it, it wouldn’t leap to hug and bite like the little kitten, instead, it gazed at Fang Zheng with an expression that said, ”Are you an idiot?”

But isn’t this intriguing too?

No, it should be said all cats are intriguing, right?

Fang Zheng wasn’t sure what abilities the little white cat possessed. Being a Silver Level Soulstone, it should theoretically have abilities similar to Nymph, but Fang Zheng didn’t care about that right now. The little white cat was so adorable, so cute, so soft—hugging and petting it was enough!

Let Diablo handle the fighting; a cat should be properly revered at the rear, shouldn’t it?

Thinking like this, Fang Zheng once again hugged the little white cat, pressing his nose against its soft belly and took a deep breath. Evidently, the little white cat didn’t like Fang Zheng’s actions much, pawing to try to bat Fang Zheng away. However, Fang Zheng wasn’t afraid of it at all; he reached out, grabbing the nape of the little white cat’s neck, and instantly, the previously struggling little white cat obediently hung there like a model, motionless.

”Hehehe, be good, let me snuggle for a moment...”

Watching the motionless little white cat, Fang Zheng chuckled ”sinisterly” as he leaned in, and just as he was about to touch the little white cat, the little white cat suddenly extended a forepaw, then swiftly swung it.

”..........”

Fang Zheng touched his face, then looked at the little white cat baring its claws in front of him, scoffed coldly, and then... once again picked it up.

Hahaha, scratch if you can, if you manage to scratch through dragon scales, I’ll consider you impressive!

While Fang Zheng was lost in the irresistible allure of a cat, in the Holy Silver Merchant Association, Katie’s father wore a grim expression.

”President, we just received news from the Sea Blue Guild, they can’t take our order at the moment due to special circumstances!”

”President, Lady Sofia just sent word, she’s feeling unwell lately and plans to cancel her original itinerary.”

”President......”

”Enough!!”

Hearing the buzzing, mosquito-like droning reports all around him, Katie’s father couldn’t help but roar angrily, cutting them off. Hearing his shout, the others wisely shut their mouths, ceasing to speak. They all knew what was going on, which only made them more afraid.

”Handle it yourselves, don’t bother me, I have very important matters to attend to next! No one is to disturb me!”

After Katie’s father gave his orders, he turned and returned to his room, locked the door, and then extended his hand. Soon, a murky radiance appeared, and the whole door was sealed instantly. Katie’s father sighed in relief, turned to the bookshelf, and reached out to pull a candlestick.

”Karalalala......”

With a series of mechanical sounds, the bookshelf slowly moved back, revealing a passage that could accommodate a single person. Katie’s father took a deep breath, then controlled his expression, and walked into the passage.

The entire passage was pitch black, only when Katie’s father walked in did a hint of blue radiance illuminate the space before him. Within this pitch-black space, there was a black stone altar. It was covered in fresh blood, with white human bones and some materials that were nauseating just to look at.

In short, it was the standard traditional cultist setup.

As Katie’s father entered, the hollow black eyes of the skull on the altar suddenly glowed faintly, and then, a woman’s voice filled with resentment echoed out.

”I felt the tremor of destiny... hehehe, did your plan fail?”

”It’s just a minor accident.”

Katie’s father coldly stared at the skull, his face dark as if ready to kill, but the skull evidently didn’t care about Katie’s father’s response.

”Hahaha, accident... what an accident, misfortune is beckoning you! I told you, you would face retribution! The Goddess will punish you!”

”The Goddess is already dead!”

Katie’s father suddenly waved his hand.

”This world is destined for destruction; the Goddess you worship is long dead! You will die too! It’s all the arrangement of fate! And now, we will guide it to our destined place! The gates of destruction are about to open, and by then, I will personally let you experience what eternal suffering means.”

”Pain... Pain!!”

Hearing this, the light in the skull’s eye sockets grew more dazzling.

”You ruined me, and you ruined our daughter too! You beast! Demon!! I curse you! I curse your soul to never find peace!”

”The small sacrifices are worth it for the coming of Doomsday.”

However, Katie’s father ignored the skull’s curse. He walked up to the skull and extended his hand.

”Originally, I planned to wait for her to grow up a bit more, have her bear children, and then continue using her destiny. But now... I have to make another choice.”

”What are you going to do... no, you can’t touch her! You mustn’t!”

”I won’t touch her.”

Upon hearing this, a smile finally appeared on Katie’s father’s face.

”That’s your job, as her mother, you will personally bring misfortune to her.”

With these words, his right hand pressed firmly on the trembling skull.

In the next moment, with a scream, a dense aura of darkness erupted from the skull, becoming a shredded humanoid form, then quickly vanishing into the air.

”The arrival of Doomsday is inevitable.”

Watching the gradually dispersing black mist, Katie’s father’s expression became serious.

”Everything is for the destruction of this world, to redeem our sins.”
