Chapter 279: Chapter 278: Then Just Throw It Down Again

“This… this…”

As Captain Fox watched the scene before him, he couldn’t help but gasp. His eyes widened at the sight of the remnants of the pirate ship slowly sinking not far off. For a moment, he thought he was dreaming—after all, the “Devil Sarn” pirate gang was the most ferocious and vicious in these waters. Although Captain Fox had often prayed for a bolt of lightning to strike these scoundrels dead, the fact that it was all happening before his eyes was something he could not accept, no matter what.

Could it be that the fearsome “Devil Sarn,” the terror of the seas, had met his end like this?

“Captain Fox?”

“Ah, yes!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s voice, Captain Fox’s body jolted in shock, and he anxiously turned to the young man beside him. Even though he had known earlier that this young man was a formidable Mage, and that each of the young ladies with him had exceptional abilities, Fox had never imagined that they would be this powerful!

Just one strike, and a pirate ship was destroyed!

“It looks like that ship is about to sink. What should we do?”

“Eh?”

Startled by Fang Zheng’s question, Captain Fox quickly looked over to find the luxurious yacht already tilting, with large holes blasted on both sides and sea water furiously pouring in. It was clear that the vessel was quite valuable, but sadly it seemed destined for the ocean floor.

At that moment, on the deck, many people could be seen desperately calling out for help to the Black Crow Ship. Seeing this, Captain Fox hesitated for a moment before turning to Fang Zheng with a troubled look.

“This… Master, according to the sea regulations, we have a duty to rescue in such situations… so…”

“Then let’s go.”

“Right, right, we’ll get moving immediately.”

Seeing that Fang Zheng had no objections, Captain Fox quickly took the lead. Under his command, the Black Crow Ship slowly approached the sinking yacht. The sailors then lowered ropes and lifeboats to begin rescuing the overboard crew and passengers.

After some effort, all the people from the yacht were transferred onto the ship. Whether by luck or not, most of the crew and passengers had perished during the previous battle, and even the captain had died on the spot. Only the first and second officers had survived. Through these people, Fang Zheng and the others finally learned what had happened.

The situation was, in reality, quite simple. The yacht had been constructed at great expense by a member of the Nobility, having just been completed, and this was its maiden voyage. Naturally, following tradition, that Noble family had also sent some of their own to accompany the ship, most of whom were young relatives.

Unexpectedly, whether due to bad luck or some other reason, the yacht happened to catch the attention of “Devil Sarn.” Since it was the ship’s first voyage and it was generally the “dormant period” for pirates, no one had anticipated that such a predator would be lying in wait, ready to pounce as soon as they ventured too close…mmh, and so the result was as such, nearly getting caught in a solo mid-lane gank. Had the Black Crow Ship not appeared out of nowhere to jump into the fray, everyone on that ship would have ended up in the Deep Sea Spring Water, washed clean.

“So, whose yacht actually is this?”

After learning the causes and consequences of the incident, Fang Zheng casually asked. Hearing his question, the first officer hesitated but still answered in a low voice.

“It’s…”

“How dare you treat a Young Lady of the Platinum Family with such disrespect! This is outrageous!”

Suddenly, amidst this, a clamor broke out from the other side of the deck, and at the sound, Fang Zheng arched an eyebrow and looked towards the source of the noise. There, a young woman dressed in a formal gown stood with her hands on her hips and her gaze fierce, glaring down the sailors of the Black Crow Ship, who, for their part, wore sour expressions as they glared back at her.

“What’s going on? What happened?”

Seeing this commotion, Captain Fox, as the ship’s master, could not just feign ignorance. He hurried forward to inquire about the situation, and seeing their captain approach, the scowling sailors quickly gathered around him.

“Captain, look at the sort of people we’ve rescued!”

“Exactly, with attitudes as foul as a sea monster’s foot-washing water!”

No wonder the sailors were so angry; they had risked their lives to save these people. What they hadn’t expected was that this young lady, instead of thanking them for her rescue, berated them instead, accusing them of being blind and asking why they hadn’t saved her first before others!

This left the sailors utterly bemused. When rescuing, it was natural to save those in most immediate danger first, then those less at risk afterward. And there stood the young lady, perfectly safe on the deck, albeit with her clothes wet from sea spray, certainly in less need of urgent help compared to those wounded in the skirmish!

The young lady was in fine form, coming straight up to them and cursing them as a bunch of blind men and barbarians, infuriating the sailors who eked out a living on the sea. Had it not been for the fact that she was a woman, they would have raised their fists and given her a good thrashing long ago.

“Miss, please calm down…”

While soothing his sailors, Captain Fox also approached the woman with a forced smile, trying to keep a brave face. As a captain, he was quite accustomed to dealing with troublesome guests, so he seemed well-practiced in handling such situations.

“This… Because everyone was in a bit of a hurry, so there were bound to be some oversights, please understand…”

“Mistakes?”

Hearing Captain Fox’s apology, the woman raised her head even more indignantly.

“Do you know who I am? I am Ogrande Waits of the Platinum Family! I am not some small fry! This disrespect towards me is a slight on the Platinum Family! Once I report this to my father, Master, let’s see how he deals with you!”

“This… Well… Ah, miss…”

Hearing the woman speak, Fox was sweating profusely. Of course, he knew of the Platinum Family’s reputation—a major family in the Kingdom of the Holy Church. Normally, rescuing someone from such a family would present an opportunity to forge a beneficial connection. But now this… What was he to do?

In the midst of Fox’s profuse sweating, suddenly, Fang Zheng’s voice emerged from behind him.

“What’s this? You mean to say, after we saved you, you still intend to make trouble for us?”

“Of course!”

The woman didn’t hear who was asking, but instead, she puffed out her chest with pride and let out a cold huff.

“It’s only natural you saved me, I am the Platinum Star of the Platinum Family! How dare you treat me with such negligence, this is an act of disrespect towards me, and it certainly merits punishment!”

“Well spoken.”

Confronting the woman’s statement, Fang Zheng nodded and then glanced around at the sailors.

“Then, throw her back into the sea.”

“… Eh?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s command, both Fox and the sailors nearby were stunned.

“Sir… no, esteemed sir… no, Master…”

“Save your words.”

Seeing Fox trying to say something despite sweating bullets, Fang Zheng quickly waved his hand to cut him off.

“Although it is our duty to save lives, it doesn’t mean we’re fools who will allow others to trample over our kindness. Since she has chosen to spit on our hand of friendship, she must bear the corresponding consequences… Tilia, throw her overboard.”

“As you wish, Elder Brother.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s order, Tilia smiled sweetly. Then, with a flicker, she was next to the woman. Before the woman could say anything further, Tilia lifted her parasol and smacked it right on the woman’s behind. Accompanied by a scream, the woman was sent flying in an arc and with a “plop,” fell back into the sea.

“…………”

Upon witnessing this scene, everyone on the deck was dumbfounded.

Was this really an option?
