Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 255: Chapter 254: A Potentially Fatal Blow!

After the death of the two supporting Fire Mist Warriors, the rest of the Fire Mist Warrior Legion suddenly plunged into chaos. What had kept them going was the reinforcement from behind. Now, with Kamsin and Rebecca being effortlessly taken out right before their eyes, these Fire Mist Warriors were extremely surprised and shaken.

And this, finally led to the complete collapse of the front-line troops.

“Run for it!!”

Facing the furiously surging Scourge Legion that was attacking once again, the Fire Mist Warriors finally lost all will to fight. It wasn’t that they had never fought the enemy. Even the Follower of the Crimson Realm and Phosphorus had their own emotions; they could feel panic, anger, and be happy or depressed over the outcome of the battle.

But the Scourge Legion was entirely different. No matter how they were attacked or annihilated, they did not exhibit the slightest fluctuation. Even if you killed many of them, you could not shake their resolve. Fighting such an enemy imparted more pressure on the mind than the body.

Originally, the psychological pressure on these Fire Mist Warriors was already immense under the siege of the Undead Creatures. Witnessing the deaths of their ace Fire Mist Warriors, Kamsin and Rebecca, completely and utterly crushed their spirits. At last, the lines of Fire Mist Warriors began to falter, and a battle that had seemed evenly matched turned into a massacre under the lead of Sindagosa.

“Get out of here, quick!”

“Run!!”

At this point, even Zamiel could no longer stop the Fire Mist Warriors from retreating. Furthermore, he had to conceal himself and refrain from joining the fight. Zamiel knew very well that as a front-line commander, he absolutely must not encounter any further trouble, especially now that their two major reinforcements had fallen. If those two deadly stars turned their attention towards him, the completely leaderless front-line troops would most likely be annihilated right there!

“This way, everyone, hurry up.”

Behind them, Sindagosa led the Scourge Legion in pursuit, relentlessly hemming in the Fire Mist Warriors, who were desperately retreating in the direction they came from. It must be acknowledged that their desire to escape was very strong. Those Fire Mist Warriors surrounded by the Scourge Legion actually managed to carve a bloody path with all their might.

Of course, the price they paid was extremely heavy. Almost half of the Fire Mist Warriors were completely annihilated by the Scourge Legion, disappearing into the Flame of Existence in the air.

“Hmph, this is as far as it goes.”

Watching the Fire Mist Warriors break through the encirclement of the Scourge Legion, Fang Zheng sneered. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to continue trapping them. It was just that the duration of the Sealing was about to end. If he consumed more Power of Existence to create additional Scourge Legion troops, the duration of the Sealing would further decrease, potentially leading to its dissolution due to insufficient Power of Existence. This in turn would allow the Fire Mist Warriors to discover the weakness of his Sealing, which was something Fang Zheng had been desperately concealing.

So, after considering for a moment, Fang Zheng finally decided to put on a show of “letting them off,” as if it was his side that had “voluntarily lifted the Sealing because it was unnecessary.” That way, they wouldn’t think to probe for underlying issues.

With that in mind, Fang Zheng began to dissolve the Sealing. In no time, the endless snowfield and the pitch-black fortress disappeared into thin air. With the dissolution of the Sealing, everything returned to its proper course. However, the scene that met their eyes took the surrounding Fire Mist Warriors and Followers of the Crimson Realm by total surprise.

After Fang Zheng had deployed the Sealing, both sides had realized there was an issue. But since the other Fire Mist Warriors’ mission was to disperse the defensive forces of the Hall of the Star Dawn, and Commander Sophie hadn’t given any orders, they didn’t take action on their own.

While the Followers of the Crimson Realm wanted to support their Alliance Hierarch, they were restrained by the lack of numbers. Despite being enhanced with the buff from Free Method by Decarabia, they were still tightly constrained by the Fire Mist Warriors and couldn’t move at all.

Now, seeing the Sealing dissolved, both sides were inwardly alerted. The Fire Mist Warriors thought that their front-line troops must have defeated the enemy, while the Followers of the Crimson Realm also worried that their Alliance Hierarch might have been vanquished by these damned Fire Mist Warriors.

But when the Sealing was lifted, the scene before them took everyone by surprise.

Where there had been an overwhelming and numerous Fire Mist Warrior Legion, now they were in complete disarray, and it was obvious to anyone that their numbers had been reduced by more than half from before. On the contrary, Fang Zheng and Tilia appeared unscathed, casually standing on the other side of the stone bridge. Just by observing the momentum of the two sides, anyone who wasn’t blind could understand the implication.

“This must be a lie…”

“Just two people, how is that possible?”

For the Fire Mist Warriors, this was an absolutely fatal blow. Although they had come prepared to face formidable enemies, those preparations were focused on the powerful Kings of the Crimson Realm. If it had been one of the Three Pillars who had taken action, the Fire Mist Warriors would not have been surprised by the situation at hand.

However, contrary to their expectations, it wasn’t one of the Three Pillars who had acted, but a human and a King of the Crimson Realm.

“Oh! Long live the Alliance Hierarch!!”

Opposite to the utterly astonished Fire Mist Warriors, who were so shocked they couldn’t even speak, the Followers of the Crimson Realm’s morale soared. For the Followers who valued strength above all else, there was nothing more important than displaying their power in front of others.

In fact, for a Follower of the Crimson Realm to be recognized as a King of the Crimson Realm, it wasn’t as simple as just possessing tremendous strength. They also needed to demonstrate their power in front of other Followers, and only if those Followers acknowledged their power could they be officially called the King of the Crimson Realm. Otherwise, no matter how strong they were, the Followers would not regard them as a King of the Crimson Realm.

This was also why Libezar had previously challenged Fang Zheng in front of a large crowd. Because for the Followers of the Crimson Realm, this was the right way to prove oneself.

Bloodline, family background, title, all of these meant nothing. Even as the God of Creation, one must display their power in front of the Followers of the Crimson Realm to gain their recognition.

And at this moment, those Followers of the Crimson Realm had clearly fully acknowledged their Alliance Hierarch.

To have the strength of just two people hold back an entire Fire Mist Warrior Legion was an unprecedented and glorious feat that none of the Followers here had ever achieved!

“Long live the God of Creation—the Ritual Snake!”

The Scourge Legion’s do-or-die assault had failed, leading to a massive morale drop among the Fire Mist Warriors and a surge of morale among the Followers of the Crimson Realm. If things continued this way, the outcome of the battle was almost certain.

But clearly, someone did not wish for such an outcome.

“Boom!”

“Hmm?”

Just then, a rumble of thunder suddenly sounded overhead, startling Fang Zheng, and the next moment, an ominous premonition suddenly erupted deep within his heart.

“This is bad!!”

“Death’s Embrace!!”

Following a roar, a streak of purple lightning split from the clouds and hammered down towards Fang Zheng with force. Amidst the purple thunder, one could see a middle-aged nun clad in the robes of Cultivation, none other than the Commander of the Fire Mist Warrior Legion’s operations—the Hand of Thunder, Sophie Sabelishu!

Damn it!

Realizing the lightning strike was upon him, Fang Zheng also clenched his teeth. The enemy had been exceptionally well-hidden and acted too quickly. The Flame of Existence he normally wielded had been completely depleted, and activating the “Backup Energy” would take a moment. It was like a phone switching from a backup power source to a charger, with an inevitable pause, and Fang Zheng had no time to draw more of the Flame of Existence to counter this sudden sneak attack.

This also meant that although Fang Zheng sensed the enemy’s scheme, he truly found himself in a powerless state the moment the Sealing ended.

This was the dilemma all Prophet Mages faced—you could foresee every future, but that didn’t mean you could avoid its existence.

“Elder Brother!”

And at that moment, Tilia rushed in front of Fang Zheng, raising her hands high. Massive petals emerged from beneath their feet, layering atop each other to envelop the pair.

“Booom!!!”

However, before Tilia’s Free Method could finish weaving, the purple thunder had already struck hard, hitting the petal shield she had formed. Fang Zheng saw a flash before his eyes, and the next, he witnessed the golden petals Tilia had forged torn and shattered like sheets in a hurricane. Tilia herself let out a stifled groan, her body trembling violently, but still, she bit down hard, desperately resisting the barrage.

At this moment, the thunder had broken through Tilia’s petal barrier, mercilessly searing scars onto the fair skin of the young girl’s arms!

“You menopausal fat hag!”

Seeing the scars left by the thunder on Tilia’s arms, Fang Zheng erupted in fury. He quickly brought out the Zero Hour Resurgence and then reached out to pat Tilia’s back. An immense Power of Existence immediately flowed through Fang Zheng’s arm and into Tilia, repairing the shield that had been shattered. Fang Zheng then raised his right hand high; the blood-red Radiance of the Vampire burst forth once more, intertwining with the Holy Light, inseparable.

“Get lost!!!”

With a roar, Fang Zheng pulled Tilia behind him and swung his greatsword forward with all his might towards the purple thunder, chopping down fiercely!!

“————–!!”

Along with a deafening explosion, pure white Holy Light and vivid red Power of Existence burst forth in a chaotic frenzy, completely engulfing the purple thunder descending from the sky. The two forces collided instantly, ballooning into a massive sphere nearly a hundred meters in diameter.

The next moment, relentless energy burst forth like floodwaters from a broken dam, roaring along the stone bridge and striking the mountain at the end!
