Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 253: Chapter 252: Today, I, Fang Zheng, will blast you to smithereens!

The battle between the two was far from the standard procedure.

Fang Zheng didn’t complain like most protagonists, and his opponent didn’t start the fight by explaining himself like a typical boss—of course, Fang Zheng understood that this was all just game design. If the bosses didn’t tell the players how they were killed and by whom, it would be too much of an underestimate of their intelligence.

In reality, bosses would be happy if you died a hundred and eighty times without ever knowing who the real culprit was.

Anyone daring enough to show off usually ended up on the gallows.

So, both parties acted normally, which meant they went straight into fighting.

“Huh!!”

The Earth Stone Giant suddenly raised its foot and stomped down hard toward Fang Zheng. Fang Zheng just hummed softly, then snapped his fingers with his right hand, and quickly, five fireballs, each larger than a washbasin, suddenly emerged from behind him and shot towards the enemy in front.

“Boom——!”

The Five Fireballs Sect’s techniques were long-standing and not in vain. Under the bombardment of five powerful fireballs, the Earth Stone Giant’s enormous body was instantly blown open with several large holes, and the right leg that was supposed to crush Fang Zheng was obliterated.

However, the Earth Stone Giant clearly wasn’t going to give up, as it staggered back a step. But quickly, countless rocks and earth condensed again, and in the blink of an eye, the countless wounds Fang Zheng had inflicted were repaired, and its smashed right leg reappeared.

“Hmph.”

Seeing this scene, Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised. Without any visible action, the next moment sixteen shining Electric Orbs appeared instantly by Fang Zheng’s side and spun towards the Earth Stone Giant, striking it once more. This time, facing Fang Zheng’s assault, the Earth Stone Giant was not as careless as before; it quickly stepped back and crossed its arms in front of its chest.

The dazzling thunderbolt spread out in front of the Earth Stone Giant like a giant hand, grabbing it fiercely. Thick lightning bolts burst forth on the body of the Earth Stone Giant, its hard shell cracking like plastic hit by stones, gradually shattering as the lightning exploded.

“Bang!!”

A large chunk of rock was blasted off the Earth Stone Giant’s body and fell. Before it even hit the ground, the surrounding electric currents, as if attracted, rushed towards it violently, and in an instant, the chunk of seemingly hard rock was pulverized by the following currents.

Meanwhile, the Earth Stone Giant, bound by the lightning, also shuddered, numerous rocks and earth flowing backward from the ground like a reverse flood, sucked into its body, making its already bulky farmer’s Gundam-like frame appear even more swollen. Clearly, the Earth Stone Giant planned to use this method to forcibly burst Fang Zheng’s thunderous lightings.

“Hmph, overestimating yourself!”

Seeing this, Fang Zheng’s expression darkened. He knew this creature was tough. Although it was clear that the Earth Stone Giant was artificially made, Fang Zheng didn’t have much power to counter it. If described using the terms of the Main World, this Earth Stone Giant was undoubtedly a product of the Transmutation system, and to defeat it, Fang Zheng would want to counter it with Transmutation or simply blast it into debris using Shaping Type spells.

Unfortunately, Fang Zheng’s mastery of Shaping Type spells was only at Level Five, clearly insufficient to kill such a massive Gundam. Otherwise, a single Meteor Burst would convince him there was nothing left standing before him—of course, if he really had such a thing, he wouldn’t have had to play around with these Fire Mist Warriors for so long.

All it would take was to activate Sealing, then throw a Meteor Storm over, and afterwards, Fang Zheng could comfortably sit back in his chair, drink tea, watch the show, and wait for the story to end.

Now, it seemed he must resort to some harsh measures.

At this thought, Fang Zheng’s expression shifted, then he halted his steps, staring intently at the Earth Stone Giant in front of him. Next, he spread his arms and began to wave them, rapidly conjuring mysterious and profound runes in front of him, which seemed to possess some attractive force and gradually began to converge.

“Bang!!”

Just then, as the Earth Stone Giant, which seemed to still be struggling, suddenly trembled. The next moment, the lightning binding it was forcibly dispersed. Following that, the Earth Stone Giant raised its right hand, and countless fragments of stone and dust quickly condensed into a massive hammer in its hand. Then the Earth Stone Giant’s right hand suddenly smashed downward, hitting Fang Zheng with great force.

The entire process took only a few seconds, a span almost unreactable for most people, including Fang Zheng himself, who had barely uttered a third of the incantation. Clearly, the Earth Stone Giant had been feigning vulnerability to draw Fang Zheng into attacking. Now, it seemed, the Earth Stone Giant had achieved its goal.

Unfortunately, being a Prophecy Mage, there was nothing unexpected in Fang Zheng’s eyes.

“Swoosh!!”

Just as the Earth Stone Giant’s right hand was about to strike Fang Zheng’s body, a gigantic palm, shimmering with golden radiance, suddenly appeared in front of Fang Zheng and blocked the attack like a shield.

The Earth Stone Giant clearly did not expect Fang Zheng to possess such capabilities. Perhaps because the performance of the Free Method looked different from magic, it misjudged Fang Zheng, not foreseeing that its full-force blow could be blocked by a small, balloon-like golden palm. However, the opponent’s reaction was quick; on sensing the bad turn of events, it immediately withdrew its hand, and at the same time, another shield swiftly began to form on the giant’s left hand.

Unfortunately, it was already too late.

Fang Zheng suddenly shook his right hand, and in the blink of an eye, a bracelet magically appeared on his wrist; simultaneously, the glow of the magic runes before him suddenly doubled in brightness. They successfully combined into a dazzling orb of magic.

Then, one light bullet after another, like meteors, shot out from it, hurling a devastating, silver-white storm toward the Earth Stone Giant ahead.

Ultimate Magic Missile Storm!

Indeed, the Earth Stone Giant had set a trap for Fang Zheng, but for him, who possessed Future Sight and also practiced Prophecy spells, failing to see the imminent crisis would mean he might as well quit being a Prophet Mage.

So Fang Zheng decided to turn the tables. In fact, he was using the steps every mage follows when casting a spell. Until now, every time Fang Zheng cast a spell, he had manipulated the Time Domain around himself within a one-meter radius before completing it during a Time Stop, making each spell appear to activate instantly.

This time, however, Fang Zheng intentionally did not activate the Time Domain but launched the spell in the real world, leading the opponent into misunderstanding. This incidentally proved that this Fire Mist Warrior was not a qualified spellcaster. But looking at him, it didn’t seem like it initially.

“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Originally, Fang Zheng was casting an Enhanced Magic Missile Storm, but under the amplification of Resonant Sound, it transformed into an Ultimate Magic Missile Storm. Despite just a two-word difference, the effect was worlds apart. If a Magic Missile is likened to a machine gun firing, then an Enhanced Magic Missile is akin to a grenade bombardment, and an Ultimate Magic Missile elevates it to the level of a rocket launcher.

The Earth Stone Giant felt as if it was being bombarded with several rocket launchers, fortunate that it had hastily formed a shield in front of itself at the last moment; otherwise, it would likely have been shattered to pieces by now.

Even so, the scene before them left all Fire Mist Warriors dumbstruck. Fang Zheng did not know the prowess of Kamsin, but these elite warriors had heard of the grand name of “Formal Rider” Kamsin—an infamously brutal and powerful Fire Mist Warrior.

Previously, against Marrowgar, Kamsin had shown this brutality, but now, he was being utterly overpowered in a direct confrontation by a human without even an opportunity to retaliate?

Although strictly speaking, Kamsin was more about physical attacks, and Fang Zheng’s were magical, they weren’t comparable. However, in this world, such distinctions weren’t made clear. Essentially, both Fire Mist Warriors and Followers of the Crimson Realm were divided into those proficient in Free Method and those in physical attacks; both had their unique tricks in Free Method as well. So no one felt it was wrong for Fang Zheng to use “Free Method” against Kamsin, just that its power seemed excessively formidable.

On further thought, these warriors didn’t think their views were wrong since Fang Zheng was a human, not a Fire Mist Warrior or a Mistis. He couldn’t store a significant amount of Power of Existence in his body for use, unlike Shana, who appeared to be a 12 or 13-year-old girl but could block a truck single-handed because her body was merely a container filled entirely with condensed Power of Existence.

Given that Fang Zheng was not a Fire Mist Warrior, the Power of Existence inside him was naturally limited, leading the warriors to think it unlikely for him to excel in physical attacks. Rather, it was in Free Method where this human had made a breakthrough. After all, historically, there have been freaks like “the Two Bound by Contract,” and Fang Zheng also possessed the Noble Phantasm “Zero Hour Resurgence.” If he was using Power of Existence to release Free Method, it seemed more in line with the understanding of a Fire Mist Warrior.

Yet still, for him, a human, to overpower Kamsin so thoroughly was enough to astonish anyone. Remember, even among “the Two Bound by Contract,” the most formidable was the King of the Crimson Realm, not that guy named John. But here was Fang Zheng, clearly human, who managed to beat such a renowned warrior of the Fire Mist Warriors from the last century into this state… At this moment, those Fire Mist Warriors finally understood how their colleagues had been defeated by him.

“Boom…”

The number of magic missiles was ultimately finite. When the last magic missile hit the Earth Stone Giant and exploded, silence returned. Only the pervasive dust enveloped everything around, obscuring even the shadow of that giant.

“Whoosh!”

Just then, with the flash of a sword light, the next moment saw Fang Zheng leaping high, raising the Vampire he tightly grasped in his hand, and forcefully chopping down toward the Earth Stone Giant ahead.

As the saying goes, no sooner said than done, just at that moment, the Earth Stone Giant, which seemed to have been battered by the storm of magic missiles, also suddenly moved its right hand, reaching straight for Fang Zheng!

Good timing!

Seeing the Earth Stone Giant’s sudden attack, Fang Zheng was not alarmed but delighted. He had been waiting for this moment.

Because… today I, Fang Zheng, am determined to blast you to pieces!
