Chapter 264: Chapter 263 Gentle Care for You

Seeing Fang Zheng appear before her eyes, Shana was also filled with mixed emotions. She wanted to rush over and ask him about recent events but reminded herself about the presence of a Fire Mist Warrior nearby, forcibly suppressing her impulse.

“What, what are you doing here?”

“I originally heard some news and thought to come here and kill a few idiots who don’t know any better. But seeing you here, I just had to give up that idea.”

Listening to Shana’s question, Fang Zheng spread his hands and shrugged his shoulders.

“But it doesn’t matter. Once the ritual starts, I’ll have plenty of time to let those guys taste my iron fist of love and justice… Alright, seeing as you’re pretty happy today, I won’t trouble you any further, so I’ll take my leave… Aralastor too, we’ll see each other again later.”

Having said these words, Fang Zheng waved his hand and then turned intending to leave. However, at that moment, suddenly a voice appeared behind him.

“Master of the Ritual Snake!”

“Hm?”

Upon hearing this address, Fang Zheng was taken aback. He turned his head, first glanced at Shana, and then shifted his gaze to a charming girl with brown hair next to her. It was evident that she was also a Fire Mist Warrior, but Fang Zheng did not recognize her and had no idea why she was calling out to him.

“Is there something you need?”

“I, I’m Chiara.”

Finding herself under Fang Zheng’s scrutiny, Chiara couldn’t help but shrink back slightly, respectfully greeting him. Standing in the presence of the rumored God of Creation made even breathing difficult for Chiara, but despite this, she bravely raised her head and asked Fang Zheng.

“That, that… I’ve heard about your affairs from Miss Shana, and I’m just wondering… why don’t you take care of them yourself, instead of having us Fire Mist Warriors complete them?”

“Hmm… Oh, do you mean as the God of Creation, why didn’t I just set a rule during the creation of the world that prevents them from eating humans, instead of having you do it?”

Upon hearing Chiara’s inquiry, Fang Zheng was stunned for a moment then quickly understood what Chiara was asking.

“Yes.”

The little girl also nodded her head.

“You are the God of Creation, and also human. I listened to Miss Shana’s words and I understood your point, but why don’t you do it yourself, instead of having us, the Fire Mist Warriors, do it?”

“Because it isn’t my responsibility to begin with.”

Fang Zheng spread his hands and looked towards the young girl.

“First, as the God of Creation, I only fulfilled the wishes of the Followers of the Crimson Realm, which is beyond my jurisdiction. Secondly… Miss Chiara, you’ve been a Fire Mist Warrior for quite some time now, right?”

“That… is not short.”

Although unsure why Fang Zheng was asking her this question, Chiara still nodded her head.

“So, you must have traveled to many places in the world, and you should know there are places with good public order and others with bad, right?”

“Hmm… ”

Chiara nodded again, but still didn’t understand how this was related to their conversation.

“Then do you know what these places with poor public order have in common?”

“This…”

Chiara was at a loss for words; she could detail the types of Followers of the Crimson Realm, but this question… how would she know? Fortunately, Fang Zheng wasn’t trying to trouble her and gave the answer promptly.

“Poverty.”

“Huh?”

“The poorer the place, the worse the public order. Miss Chiara, you see, in those poor places, people can’t even get enough to eat, so why would they care about the law or regulations? What’s the point of sheriffs maintaining order? This world is the same for the Followers of the Crimson Realm; they can only obtain the Power of Existence through these means, while all you can do is try to stop them by eliminating them, but is that really effective?”

At this point, Fang Zheng clapped his hands.

“No, it’s not effective. You can eliminate the Followers of the Crimson Realm who come to this world, but you cannot prevent those Followers from coming here. Once here, in order to exist and to fight against you, they need to devour the Power of Existence. It’s a vicious cycle, so I created the ‘Void Domain’. There, the Followers of the Crimson Realm don’t need to prey on humans and can still obtain the Power of Existence. This is their assurance of survival…”

“But, but won’t those Followers of the Crimson Realm then act recklessly?”

Hearing this, Chiara clenched her fists, looking anxiously at Fang Zheng.

“Exactly, which is why people are needed to come here and limit their actions, just like here…”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng gestured around him.

“Look around you. How do you think this peace and tranquility came about? It’s because of laws, order, and the Guardians of the law. And it’s because they show their formidable deterrent power in front of criminals that these criminals dare not violate the law in broad daylight. Of course, even if there are a very few who do, it does not impact the whole city, does it?”

“……”

This time, Chiara did not reply immediately; she seemed to understand what Fang Zheng meant.

“Remember, deterrent power must be demonstrated by oneself, not asked for from others. No matter what I say, I am the God of the Crimson Realm. I can at most stand by humanity’s side, but if you, Fire Mist Warriors, want those Followers of the Crimson Realm to obediently listen to you, you must bring out your capabilities… All fates are one’s own choice; you must strive hard by yourself.”

Having said this, Fang Zheng glanced out the window, where a plane had slowly landed.

“Alright, enough of that. Seeing as there are two cute little priestesses here today, I’ll let those three idiots off the hook. It’ll be the same if I incapacitate them at the ritual to create a new world so that they cannot care for themselves. With that, I shall take my leave. Keep up the hard work.”

With those final words, Fang Zheng turned and left, disappearing in the blink of an eye. He left only Shana and Chiara standing there, looking at each other. After a moment, they both sighed involuntarily.

“Haah…”

Back at the Hall of the Star Dawn, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but yawn.

What a rotten day. Originally, he heard that the Four Gods of Earth would meet with members from the outer realms, so he planned to go there and have a good time cleaning up those good-for-nothing bastards. However, unexpectedly, the outer realms sent Shana to pick him up, so Fang Zheng had to change his plans. However, it didn’t matter much; beings like the Four Gods of Earth were easy for him to handle. It wasn’t urgent. Instead, the situation with Shana seemed a bit dire; giving her a hand for the time being wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Without that, he wouldn’t have much else to do.

With this thought, Fang Zheng felt somewhat bored. But soon, he thought of Tilia… Hmm, since there’s nothing else to do, why not go find that girl for a deep and simple chat about life’s ideals?

That’s settled then!

With that decision, Fang Zheng perked up again and began walking back to his room. However, he had not walked far when he noticed a petite figure blocking his path.

“Black Katie?”

Looking at the white-robed Shrine Maiden in front of him, Fang Zheng was momentarily stunned. Honestly, he rarely saw Black Katie venture out. From a certain perspective, when Tilia called her the “girl who plays with stars staying inside the palace,” it wasn’t wrong. She usually remained inside the main hall praying, but looking at her now… it seemed she was specifically waiting for him?

“Is there something you need?”

“……”

But facing Fang Zheng’s question, the little white-robed priestess didn’t react immediately. Instead, she walked up quietly and respectfully passed him a cup.

“Uh… this is for me to drink?”

Looking at the black liquid in the cup, Fang Zheng was a bit puzzled. Seeing Black Katie nod, he didn’t say much and just took it from her.

“Thanks, Black Katie… uh… what’s this?”

Since it was a rare treat from the little priestess, Fang Zheng was not too worried. He drank it in one gulp only to find the drink bitter with strong herbal flavor mixed with a bit of spiciness and sourness. Fortunately, Fang Zheng had drunk herbal medicine before and managed to swallow the concoction in his mouth… but… what was this thing?

Puzzled, Fang Zheng looked towards Black Katie, who, facing his inquisitive gaze, simply stared back expressionlessly.

“Alliance Hierarch, please take care of your health and be moderate to avoid harming yourself. Now, I shall take my leave.”

Having said that, Black Katie respectfully bowed to Fang Zheng and then turned and left, leaving Fang Zheng standing there, staring at the departing figure of the little white-robed priestess.

……

Well, now Fang Zheng could be certain that she indeed had come here specifically to wait for him.
