Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 993: Chapter 993: Returning to Hold Someone Accountable

At five in the afternoon, David Garcia knocked on their office door.

It was almost time to leave work, and out of courtesy, he came over to say hello.

Upon hearing the knock, everyone in the office looked up, putting down their design pens, watching the middle-aged man step inside, ”Hello, President Dalton!”

The five designers spoke in unison.

”President Dalton.” Mia Lane’s expression was gentle as she courteously stood up.

”Was the cake good?” David Garcia asked with kindness, walking straight to her desk, ”If you like it, I’ll have Trevor buy it every day.”

”No need to trouble yourself!” Mia Lane quickly declined. She was touched but didn’t want to burden him.

David Garcia was suddenly anxious, ”Was it not good? If it’s not good, we can try another place.” He had personally compared countless options.

He finally chose this place because the cake’s taste was extremely similar to the one from his childhood.

David Garcia has always wanted to make up for something, starting from when she was young, from a piece of cake.

”No, no.” Mia Lane hurriedly explained with a smile, ”The cake is quite delicious, but we don’t want to trouble Trevor, and even less do we want to trouble you.”

Seeing her being so polite, David Garcia suddenly understood—was he being too eager?

He should take it slow and shouldn’t scare her.

”Okay...” David Garcia nodded, ”I understand.”

Understand?

Understand what?

Mia Lane didn’t quite get it, but she continued to smile.

The designers felt that President Dalton was especially kind, not putting on airs, a good person.

In the brief silence, he gently said to everyone, ”Make sure you get rest and don’t work too late. I’m leaving work first today. If there’s anything, you can communicate with Trevor, and please don’t suffer any grievances.”

”OK, President Dalton!” Everyone gestured towards him.

”Alright, you don’t need to worry about us.” Mia Lane also expressed, ”We’ll definitely finish and do the work well within the agreed time.”

”I’m not here to rush your work.” David Garcia felt a bit embarrassed.

Mia Lane also smiled, ”I know.”

”Then, you all continue to work, I’m leaving work first.”

”Okay, take care.”

After saying that, he turned and reluctantly left.

Starting tomorrow, David Garcia will stay late at the company, even though he never used to work overtime, he wants to find ways to spend more time with his daughter.

But today he’s not working late, because he plans to go home and deal with Sean Dalton!

Today’s issues, tomorrow she’ll be at fault, reversing black and white, and even being the first to complain!

”President Lane, don’t you feel... that President Dalton is acting a bit strange?” Edie is always straightforward and spoke while glancing at the disappearing figure at the doorway.

At this moment, Drew chimed in, ”It’s just an excess of politeness, lacking the aura of a CEO, quite approachable; this isn’t unusual, we’re from the Kingston Group and naturally don’t see eye to eye with The Dalton Group.”

”That’s not the reason.” President Lane sat down and looked towards everyone, ”Let’s get back to work, stop the random chatter.”

What was the reason then?

Everyone was curious, but didn’t pursue the question further.

The five designers went back to work, while Mia Lane held the mouse, gradually losing focus...

David Garcia returned home, his first words in the living room were, ”Is Sean Dalton home?”

Joan Graham quickly got up from the sofa, walked towards her husband and saw him with a stern face, looking as if he was about to confront someone, ”What’s happened? Did Sean... cause some trouble?”

”Has she returned?” David Garcia didn’t answer, he asked again.

Joan Graham shook her head, ”No.”

”When she returns, tell her to come to the study to see me.” After saying that, David Garcia started walking upstairs.

His figure had just disappeared around the stairway corner when his daughter’s Maserati entered the yard, parking right next to his car.

Joan Graham saw Sean Dalton come down from the car with her handbag, taking off her sunglasses and walking towards them.

She couldn’t help but worry for her daughter.
