Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 971: Chapter 971: Justin Kingston’s Probe

This sudden question caught her off guard.

Mia Lane looked up, and their eyes met and lingered together for a long time.

”I didn’t mean anything else, I was just saying...” Justin Kingston picked up the Jade Pendant and looked at it, his face incredibly gentle, ”I just think that anyone who owns such a Jade Pendant must come from a prominent family.”

Mia Lane chuckled quietly, ”I got separated from my family when I was five, and I don’t have many memories from before that, so I don’t really know about my family’s background, but I know my current situation is good, after all, I married the world’s richest man.”

What was originally a heavy topic became much lighter with Mia’s answer.

Both wore smiles on their faces.

Justin said, ”Indeed, even if our group goes bankrupt, a starving camel is still bigger than a horse.”

His physique was perfectly proportioned, his features rugged and handsome, sitting tall and straight before her, emitting no sense of oppression, full of tenderness and affection.

”So, have you never thought about looking for them?”

Justin wanted to explore what she thought so he could determine his next steps.

Mia Lane lifted her eyelashes, shook her head, ”I don’t have the mind to think about it, during the day I think about work, and later in the evenings, I think about the kids, life is only a few decades long, I believe in fate’s arrangements, because everything... is getting better.”

Justin nodded thoughtfully, he could probably guess what was on her mind.

She probably knew her own background.

But Justin wanted to confirm his suspicions further.

So he spoke warmly, ”Oh right, I was thinking of collaborating with The Dalton Group recently, what’s your take on it, VP Lane?”

The Dalton Group?

Though Mia Lane sat quietly, her fingers tightened around her teacup, ”Did he... did he meet you today to discuss cooperation?”

Justin noticed his wife’s concern about The Dalton Group, so he took a sip of tea, ”Mmm.” For the first time, he told a lie in front of her.

Mia Lane also exhaled in relief, she thought her father was in trouble and came to Justin for help.

Justin asked her, ”How about I leave this matter to you to handle?”

Because Justin thought, if she was willing to give up participating in the new season’s fashion design project for The Dalton Group, it would show that The Dalton Group held significance in her heart.

Justin seized this detail to dig deeper.

Maybe she really knew about her background, but had some compelling reasons to keep silent.

”Okay.” Mia Lane agreed almost without thinking, without even asking what the project was.

This made Justin all the more certain that she knew about her own background.

”Great.” Justin felt assured, ”I will prioritize this on the agenda.”

She finally calmed down, ”What’s the cooperation about?”

”Hmm, it’s still under negotiation, I’ll let you know once it’s finalized.” Justin’s expression was gentle, wanting to end the topic.

Because Mia was clever, continuing the conversation might lead to slipping up.

At that moment, Mia Lane’s phone chimed with a WeChat video call sound, she saw it was Gigi, ”It’s Gigi!”

Quickly rising to sit beside Justin, she answered the video, ”Hi! Sweetie!”

The video showed Kristina Kingston and the kids.

”Daddy! Mommy!!”

”Mommy.”

Everyone cheerfully greeted each other, mostly the kids talking about the situation over there.

Like how the weather was nice, the house was big, and they met the teacher today, feeling a special connection during the chat, assuring daddy and mommy not to worry.

Hearing this, as parents, Justin and Mia felt relieved.

”Daddy, Mommy, you mustn’t forget what you promised us!” Gigi reminded them before hanging up the video.

”What is it?” Mia quickly asked, suspecting it was something related to overseas arrangements that weren’t well prepared.

But Gigi and Dolly simultaneously—

”Having little brothers and sisters!!”
