Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 978: Chapter 978: The Overbearing CEO Overflowing with Tenderness

”That was shortly after Stella’s fifth birthday.” David Dalton’s heart began to tear apart, and even his voice was tinged with pain.

He still clearly remembered that evening—

”I had a social engagement that day, so I got home a bit late, around eight o’clock.”

”At this time of the evening, Stella would usually be practicing piano in the living room, and you could hear the music from a distance.”

”But that day, it was very quiet, unusually quiet, and I got a bad feeling as soon as I got out of the car.”

Justin Kingston’s brows slightly furrowed, and his heart began to grow heavy as well.

David Dalton said, ”When I walked into the living room, I saw Joan Graham and Grace crying, and the servants looked anxious and worried, as if something big had happened.”

”They told me Stella was missing.”

”As for how she went missing, they couldn’t explain clearly, only saying she was missing during dinner, and they always thought she was upstairs.”

”There was no surveillance at home, and even though many people were sent out to search for her, there was still no result...”

”Just like that, we lost touch with her, not knowing the reason, not knowing if she ran away by herself or was taken by someone...”

”But over the years, I’ve often dreamt of her, never stopping my search for her, because along with her, half of the Jade Pendant was missing as well.”

”In my dreams, she helplessly calls out for daddy, and I want so much to save her, but every time after I try to rescue her, she just disappears in the dream.”

At this point, the middle-aged man’s emotions broke down, and tears began to fall uncontrollably.

”She is the greatest pain of my life.”

Justin Kingston handed him a handkerchief, comfortingly saying, ”She is doing very well now, you need not blame yourself.”

But they both knew that young Stella must have endured a lot of hardships.

How did she grow up without the shelter of her parents?

”I don’t know if you follow the news, she is now the Deputy General Manager of the Kingston Group.” Justin Kingston smiled slightly, trying to ease the atmosphere, ”And she is capable of fulfilling this role. She is also an outstanding designer and knowledgeable in medicine.”

Justin Kingston told him, ”She is more exceptional than you can imagine. She even gave me two genius babies, who are extraordinarily intelligent, with IQs above the average person.”

David Dalton had heard some about it, but never in detail, as the Dalton Group and the Kingston Group had nothing to do with each other.

”Actually, these past two days since receiving the appraisal report, I’ve been thinking every minute about how to handle this matter in the best possible way.” Justin Kingston sighed lightly.

He continued, ”So as not to shock everyone too much, not to disrupt everyone’s original life rhythm, not to cause a sensation, not to give the media a chance to create a public outcry, not to put any of those involved under psychological pressure.”

Did he really think so much?

David Dalton looked up, gazing at him intently, and a stream of emotion slowly flowed through his heart.

Did this legendary figure in the business world actually have such a tender and meticulous side?

Justin Kingston, with a touch of apology, softly said, ”President Dalton, I asked you to come out today because last night I probed Stella’s thoughts.”

David Dalton’s eyes were full of expectation. How did his daughter feel?

Justin Kingston said, ”In her heart, she probably longs to find her biological family, but she may not want to disturb the current peace. I suspect... she remembers that you are her biological father, and for a five-year-old child, it is memorable.”

”She remembers?” David Dalton was puzzled, ”You didn’t tell her the results of the appraisal?”

”No.” Justin Kingston shook his head, ”She might be worried that it would disrupt the peace on your side, so... I think this matter should be approached slowly. I don’t want to confront her about it openly. I want to let her decide for herself.”

As he spoke, he handed over a contract, sincerely saying, ”I want to discuss cooperation with the Dalton Group, and in the future let her coordinate with you. This is a new project, and you can see if you’re interested.”
