Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 790: Chapter 790: After All, I’m Going to Be the Morgan Family’s Granddaughter-in-law

Night.

Finn Morgan was in the study of his newly purchased villa. He had just finished dealing with some work and glanced at his phone. It was only ten o’clock.

He estimated that Hailey was probably still awake and was about to call her.

As for Hailey Hale, she had been waiting for Finn’s call, and the phone in her hand had become burning hot.

Staring at her phone, she kept complaining, ”Are all men like this? Once they’ve got you, they stop caring? Not even a goodnight call?”

She was a little angry, and particularly uncomfortable, but she didn’t want to make the first move to call him. Women in love can be so obstinate.

At that moment, the ringtone startled her! Finn was calling.

Her eyes lit up with joy. She flipped over onto her stomach on the bed, looked up with a playful smile at the photo hanging by the bed, and then answered, ”Hey~”

”Are you asleep, babe?” Finn was trendy, with laughter even in his eyes.

”Not yet.” Hailey’s voice was soft, with a sweet smile on her lips, ”What are you doing? Busy?” Making me wait this long.

Finn was very happy. What are you doing? It’s not just a simple question; the subtext was—I miss you.

”I just replied to an email. I’ll pick you up in the morning.” Finn said.

”No need!” Hailey quickly refused, ”I’ll go to the entrance of Celestial Heights to find you tomorrow. Let’s meet there!”

”What’s wrong?” Finn was puzzled, ”Isn’t it good if I pick you up?”

”No.” Hailey didn’t want to give him a reason, ”Just listen to me, alright? It’s not like I’m not going.”

”Okay, you have the final say.” Finn didn’t demand much; the fact that she was willing to go was good enough, ”Hailey, remember, you don’t need to prepare a gift. I’ve got it ready. We’re in this together.”

”Mm-hmm.”

Finn’s voice was gentle as he comforted her, ”Don’t be too nervous. Although it’s a bit of a big event, you are the mayor’s daughter, right? What kind of event haven’t you seen?”

”This is different. This is meeting your grandpa; I need to leave a good impression on him.” So she was under a bit of pressure.

”My grandpa is a very open-minded person. He and grandma were in a free-spirited romance when they were young.” Finn told her, ”I think grandpa will bless us.”

”Doesn’t he approve of Melissa?” Hailey was curious.

Finn, however, said, ”Can we not talk about her? Mood killer.”

”Hahahaha, okay, okay, I won’t mention it!”

Then Finn happily shared memories of his grandpa and grandma with Hailey, giving her an initial impression of his playful grandpa so she wouldn’t feel too unfamiliar when they met.

Finn illustrated with specific examples, and Hailey listened attentively, occasionally amused by him, ”That grandpa seems very endearing! You must have been really happy as a child!”

”Yes, and you’ll be really happy too. He will be your grandpa too.”

The two of them talked for a long time, reluctant to end the call even when it got very late.

Indeed, Hailey Hale had been pondering the whole day over whether to accompany Finn to celebrate his grandpa’s birthday or go to her own grandpa’s place.

In the end, love triumphed over family ties. She didn’t want to disappoint Finn after agreeing to something with him.

The call lasted for an hour.

The night in Veridia was equally bright, with a clear moon, a starry sky, and an especially gentle evening breeze.

This signaled that tomorrow would be a beautiful day.

It was already eleven at night, and in the Monroes’ vast villa valued in the billions, the lights in the second-floor walk-in closet were still on.

Melissa Merce was far from sleepy. She was looking forward to Grandpa Morgan’s birthday banquet tomorrow, so excited that she couldn’t sleep a wink!

Two maids patiently accompanied her as she selected a dress.

”How about this one?”

Melissa emerged in the 58th dress, energetically spinning around in front of the maids.

Before they could speak, she frowned and rejected it herself, ”Isn’t this color too flashy? Grandpa would surely prefer something more mature and steady, after all, I’m going to be the Morgan family’s granddaughter-in-law.”

With that, she picked another one from the rack and walked into the dressing room.
