Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 759: Chapter 759: Farewell, Kingston Group

CEO Kingston’s opening remarks were very brief, mainly sharing the joy of the first finished piece with everyone.

When the silver box was opened and the ”True Love” series quartet was taken out by Finn Morgan, its dazzling brilliance amazed everyone present.

At this moment, the designer spoke up to introduce it to everyone, ”The inspiration comes from the classic drama ’Honey and Clover’. Originally, I wouldn’t have come across this drama, but at the wooden cabin by Aethel Falls, I first saw real clovers, and was deeply captivated by them, so I went online to search...”

”Later, when I watched the drama, it said that everyone is like a leaf, and being able to meet each other is due to luck. If you feel happiness, then it is the right encounter.”

”So, I used this as inspiration to mold love and blessing into ornaments.”

After listening to these explanations, applause sounded in the conference room.

Barbara Sutton stared intently at the displayed jewelry quartet; she even fantasized that only a princess could be worthy of such expensive and exquisite jewelry, right?

If one day it were worn on her, Barbara thought, with her own looks, she could also amaze everyone.

Thinking and thinking... she especially wanted to have them.

The greed in her heart became overwhelming.

But the money in her card couldn’t afford them...

She became obsessed, and suddenly remembered that the box’s password was her birthday, which she had inadvertently seen the day the original stones were loaded.

As long as she found the opportunity to open it, she could take them...

Countless thoughts sprouted in her mind.

After the meeting ended, Barbara Sutton purposefully noted where the box was placed.

She discovered it was the jewelry storage room, a relatively confidential place of Kingston Group, requiring an access card to enter after submitting an application.

There were multiple layers of security, electronic surveillance systems everywhere, and manual security... trying to get her hands on it was nearly impossible.

What good does knowing the password do?

Barbara Sutton returned to the office, wrote her resignation letter, and directly handed it to Justin Kingston in front of Finn Morgan.

At the desk, Justin Kingston glanced at her.

”CEO Kingston, I hope for approval,” Barbara Sutton said calmly. ”I won’t be coming tomorrow, there’s a family matter.” She wanted to leave herself a final shred of dignity.

Barbara Sutton wasn’t getting fired!

She was leaving on her own!

Justin Kingston took the resignation letter, opened it, skimmed the reason, and took his pen to sign his unique signature, ”Approved.”

Barbara Sutton turned and left; as she passed by Finn Morgan, she didn’t even have the courage to look him in the eye.

”President Lane.” After packing her things, Mia Lane happened to enter.

Barbara Sutton said to her, ”I resigned.”

Mia Lane was slightly startled, ”Did CEO Kingston agree?”

”Yes.”

Barbara Sutton had a pretty good impression of Mia Lane and was filled with gratitude, as when her mother was hospitalized and needed surgery, she gave 200,000 without saying a word.

”Take good care of yourself in the future,” Barbara Sutton continued, ”Don’t work overtime often; your health is your own.”

Mia Lane’s recent exhaustion hadn’t escaped her notice.

”Okay.” Mia Lane neither insisted nor persuaded her otherwise, knowing a little of the reason behind this, ”Wishing you a bright future.”

With a simple farewell, she picked up her bag and left.

As she walked out of the company hall, Barbara Sutton felt inexplicably downcast. She glanced back at the revolving glass door she had passed through countless times.

Five years, this was the place where her dreams set sail.

Farewell, Kingston Group.

Just as she started moving, her phone rang with someone urging her to test drive a car.

”Alright, I’ll head over right away.”

After hanging up the phone, she casually hailed a taxi, sat in the passenger seat enjoying the breeze, heading to the 4S shop.

She thought, maybe today wasn’t the end, but rather a new beginning?

Once she bought a car and made some friends in high society, perhaps she could even marry a wealthy heir and no longer suffer the nine-to-five grind or risk being fired at any moment.

What is love?

If you can’t get it, don’t hope for it... for the rest of life, just focus on making money!
