Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 761: Chapter 761: Monica Usher’s Act of Loyalty

But Barbara Sutton didn’t have much time to think, only Monica Usher could help her with this matter.

So she swiped her finger across the answer button, and before she could speak, Monica Usher’s voice came from the other end of the phone, ”Are you off work? You haven’t forgotten about having dinner tonight, have you?”

”Monica...” Barbara’s voice was choked with tears, ”Something happened...”

Ten minutes later, Monica Usher arrived at the accident scene!

Upon seeing her, Barbara couldn’t help but shed tears. She had never handled such a situation, and a conservative estimate of the compensation was five million. She felt lucky she wasn’t scared to death.

Monica had seen many storms and waves and was once the deputy of The Kingston Group, her ability to handle things was well recognized.

So Monica calmly and confidently negotiated with the other party, even though their attitude was particularly bad.

This wasn’t entirely Barbara’s responsibility; who dared to let her drive a new car without a license?

The car dealership also had half the responsibility.

So eventually it was negotiated that Barbara would have to pay two million...

Seeing this number, even though it was more than half less than before, Barbara still couldn’t come up with it.

She was so scared that she didn’t dare to make a sound, her body trembled uncontrollably.

”Give me your account number.” Monica said to the man, ”I’ll pay you now, and let this matter be settled. Don’t pursue any more responsibility from our side in the future.”

”Deal!” The man was quite straightforward.

In the bewildered eyes of Barbara and the accompanying driver, Monica transferred the money.

”Let’s go.” Monica gave Barbara a glance and started walking toward the red Bentley not far away.

The money was paid by Monica and didn’t touch the money in Barbara’s account.

”...”

Barbara sat in the co-driver’s seat of the red Bentley, and five minutes after the car had started, she still hadn’t come back to her senses.

And Monica, driving the car, didn’t break the silence, her eyes fixed ahead, with a somewhat cool demeanor.

”Monica...” Barbara felt a mixture of emotions, a mere thank you couldn’t express her gratitude.

”This is my last two million.” Monica sighed softly and said to her, ”I’m out of money, turned into a pauper.”

”I still have some money in my card, I’ll return it all to you!” Barbara blurted out.

”No need.” Monica’s lips curved slightly as she glanced at her, ”I make more than you, my salary will be out soon, keep it for yourself, you don’t need to repay the two million.”

”...”

For a moment, Barbara didn’t know what to say, just felt she owed her a huge favor.

Along the way, her mind was still foggy.

Monica took her to a French restaurant, ordered some specialty dishes, and paid the bill.

”Monica, I resigned.” Barbara felt this major event was necessary to tell her.

Monica looked calm on the outside, but her breath slightly paused, and something quickly flickered in her eyes.

So were the two million just fed to a dog?

”I offended Hailey Hale.” Barbara hung her head, explaining in a low voice, ”She slapped me, and Finn Morgan told CEO Kingston to fire me.”

She looked up, meeting Monica’s cool gaze, a bit guiltily said, ”To leave with a bit of dignity, I submitted a resignation application myself, and CEO Kingston signed it immediately.”

”When did this happen?” Monica asked in an indifferent tone.

”This afternoon.”

”...”

Barbara saw Monica’s gaze retract, and she began to cut her steak, pondering something unknown.

In fact, Monica was contemplating Barbara, getting fired in the afternoon, with no new job lined up, yet still had the mind to buy a car?

Moreover, without a driver’s license, the desire to buy a car was so urgent, and the money wasn’t even hers.

How did her vanity become so strong all of a sudden?
