Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 783: Chapter 783: Can Coming Clean Reduce My Sentence?

”Boss, we found the suitcase. There’s an unclaimed check inside worth five million,” someone came out to report.

”Take everything away.”

”Yes.”

Then they took the check and went down the elevator with Barbara Sutton.

An idea popped into Barbara Sutton’s mind, which was to seek help from Monica Usher! After all, Lydia Ingram also wielded significant power.

But on second thought, she dismissed the idea.

CEO Kingston wouldn’t let her off the hook...

In Riventhal and even nationwide, the Kingston Group was the most powerful. The reason Monica Usher was spared time and again wasn’t Lydia Ingram’s influence, but CEO Kingston’s intention to give her a chance for redemption due to old affections.

In that instant, Barbara Sutton understood everything.

Stepping out of the elevator, she moved like a zombie, as if seeing herself in prison.

Following the police out of the building’s main entrance, she saw a familiar Lamborghini parked not far away, her heart almost trembling with fear, her whole being terrified.

Seeing Barbara being brought out, the Lamborghini’s door opened, and Justin Kingston and Mia Lane stepped out of the car.

The police brought the handcuffed Barbara in front of them.

”Mr. Kingston, we found a five-million-dollar check in her newly packed suitcase,” the police reported, presenting undeniable evidence.

Moreover, there was surveillance from Aaron Abbott’s side during the transaction.

Barbara Sutton had no room to deny it.

Mia Lane’s indifferent gaze fell on Barbara’s face, scaring her immensely, ”CEO Kingston, President Lane...” Her voice trembled, unsure of what to say.

Justin Kingston’s hands were in his pockets, his cold gaze swept past her face, then he said to the police, ”Keep this confidential for now, and confiscate her phone.”

”Understood.”

Barbara Sutton knew that CEO Kingston intended to take down both Monica Usher and Lydia Ingram, so they wouldn’t alarm the snake for now.

”Let’s go, Mia, let’s go home.” Justin Kingston put his arm around Mia Lane’s shoulder, having nothing to say to Barbara Sutton.

And Mia Lane’s gaze remained on Barbara’s embarrassed and awkward face, revealing her inner panic and fear.

”Barbara,” Mia Lane spoke softly, ”You won’t be sentenced to life. I hope after serving time, you can turn over a new leaf and reflect well while in prison.”

After speaking, Mia Lane turned with Justin Kingston.

”President Lane!” Barbara Sutton called out anxiously, stopping Mia Lane in her tracks.

Mia Lane turned to look at her, only to hear her say, ”The earrings and necklace are with Monica Usher! She threatened me to switch them! I’ve confessed, can’t my sentence be reduced?”

Since she mentioned it, Mia Lane asked, ”Why did she want only two items?”

”It’s not that she wanted only two...” Barbara Sutton, considering her survival, confessed, ”I lied and only gave her two items. I didn’t want any more dealings with her, so I planned to take the money and run.”

Barbara Sutton added, ”But this whole thing was her idea!”

”Why do the fakes look exactly like the originals?” Mia Lane believed the reason also lay with Barbara Sutton.

Not needing to lie anymore, only confession could reduce her sentence, ”During that meeting after they were made, I was there, and I saw the real ones, amazed by their beauty, I memorized the design... then I described it to Monica Usher, who came up with the design sketch herself.”

There was no need to ask further, Mia Lane and Justin Kingston understood everything.

”Take her away.” Justin Kingston’s voice contained a trace of bone-chilling coldness.

”Go!”

The two policemen unceremoniously dragged Barbara Sutton away, getting her out of sight!

Mia Lane’s gaze fell on the girl’s back, watching her being escorted onto a police car.

Justin Kingston, wrapping his arm around her shoulder, also led her to the car.

”Meeting Monica Usher really ruined her life,” Mia Lane couldn’t help but sigh, ”When I first got to know her, she seemed like quite an ambitious young woman.”

”One thought determines good or evil; Monica Usher won’t end well either,” Justin Kingston coldly remarked with his strikingly handsome face, ”This time, I won’t let her go.”
