Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”What is our mission this time?”

Traveling through the dense forests within the Land of Fire, Seiryū asked this question to Tsunade beside him.

The direction they were heading was the front line against Kumogakure, located in the Land of Leaves.

The enemy was none other than Kumogakure, one of the Five Great Ninja Villages.

Tsunade explained with a serious expression, ”According to information sent by scouts on the front line, Kumogakure has mobilized a group of ninja, most of whom are Chunin and Jōnin.”

”There are around one or two hundred of them, and their goal should be to completely conquer the Land of Leaves.”

”If the Land of Leaves is occupied by Kumogakure and they deploy troops there, it will become a huge threat to us.”

The geographical location of the Land of Fire was relatively unique. It sat in a valley.

The terrain on both sides was steep and rugged. If the terrain were changed even slightly, it would become easy to defend and difficult to attack.

It would not be an exaggeration to call it a strategic location that both sides would fight over.

If the Land of Fire were occupied by Kumogakure and used to deploy troops, it would pose a great threat to the nearby Konoha.

This was something Konoha did not want to see.

Therefore, Kumogakure’s plan had to be stopped.

After hearing this, Seiryū showed an astonished expression. ”I remember that Senpai was sent to this front line, right?”

”With him there, let alone a hundred or so Chunin and Jōnin, even if the number doubled, the threat shouldn’t be that significant, right?”

Although Jōnin and Chunin were the top and backbone forces of a ninja village, a force of one or two hundred was not a small number.

But if they encountered the Yellow Flash, Minato, they would have to bow.

Do not underestimate Seiryū.

Seiryū’s current repertoire was not limited to the Flying Thunder God Technique, Rasengan, and Sealing Jutsu.

”Minato has been transferred to another front. It seems there is also movement from Iwagakure’s side, so he went to investigate the matter...”

Tsunade explained, ”On top of that, Kumogakure’s action came suddenly. To prevent the Land of Fire from being captured, we need to make sure nothing goes wrong.”

Ninja who knew Space-Time Ninjutsu could play a huge role on the battlefield.

Whether it was gathering intelligence, supporting other fronts, or offensive combat power, they were all top-notch.

On top of that, Minato’s abilities were extremely strong.

As the saying goes, the capable do more work.

There were many things that required Minato to handle, so he could not rush back to this front line in time.

That was why Hiruzen asked her and Seiryū to head to this front line.

This could be considered a critical moment.

”Who are the noteworthy Kumogakure ninja on this front line?”

”The Kumogakure commander on this front is the Jōnin Dodai, who is deeply trusted by the Third Raikage. Though we might encounter the Third Raikage’s son, A, and the Eight-Tails Jinchūriki, Killer Bee...”

Hearing that they might encounter the Raikage’s son and the Eight-Tails Jinchūriki, Killer Bee, Seiryū’s eyes flashed. ”The Raikage’s son and the Jinchūriki? Kumogakure’s AB Combo, and a Jōnin deeply trusted by the Raikage, tsk...”

”It seems the Old Man wants us to hit Kumogakure hard, doesn’t he?”

Tsunade’s Wood Release, Seiryū’s Sealing Jutsu.

It could be said that both were treasures against Tailed Beasts.

Even a Perfect Jinchūriki would be tightly restrained if they came.

On top of that, they might also encounter the Raikage’s son, who was the Fourth Raikage in the original work.

If something unexpected happened to Kumogakure’s AB Combo, it would undoubtedly be a powerful blow to Kumogakure.

”Don’t be careless. According to Minato’s intelligence, Kumogakure’s Eight-Tails Jinchūriki is a Perfect Jinchūriki who can perfectly use the power of the Tailed Beast.”

Tsunade said calmly, ”And the Third Raikage’s son, A, is also a very powerful ninja. If nothing unexpected happens, he will likely be the next Raikage.”

”Of course, we might not necessarily encounter them. What we need to do is stop this attack from Kumogakure.”

They might not necessarily encounter the Eight-Tails Jinchūriki, Killer Bee, or the Raikage’s son, A.

Their mission this time was to stop Kumogakure’s attack.

Seiryū glanced at Tsunade, his tone inexplicably melancholic. ”Don’t jinx it. I have already prepared myself mentally to fight the Jinchūriki and the Raikage’s son, and there might even be some sudden incident.”

He had gone out of the village to perform missions with this bad woman several times.

When had nothing ever gone wrong?

Seiryū had already prepared himself mentally to deal with emergencies.

”...”

Tsunade’s face darkened, but she was unable to refute it.

Damn it, she also felt it was strange.

Whenever she went out of the village with this brat Seiryū, some kind of accident would always happen.

Like the S-rank rogue ninja Kakuzu from Takigakure, ninja from a parallel universe caused by a Dragon Vein rampage, and the Uchiha Clan member who claimed to be Madara and knew Wood Release.

So what about this time?

”Oh my, it seems you also know the pattern and have already prepared yourself mentally, haven’t you?”

”Shut up! This time, at most, we might just encounter the Eight-Tails Jinchūriki and the Raikage’s son, A!”

”Don’t you dare say something like marrying me after this mission, otherwise, let alone the Jinchūriki or the Raikage’s son, I’m afraid that guy Madara who pilots a Gundam, or the guy with purple ripple eyes who calls himself a god, might all appear.”

”The more you talk, the more outrageous it gets!”

”It’s the truth!”

Seiryū grunted.

Then, as if sensing something, he narrowed his eyes and said, ”Ten kilometers ahead, there is a team of Kumogakure ninja, eight in total. They look like scouts. Do you want to go over and take a look?”

They were still within the territory of the Land of Fire, relatively deep inside it.

Yet they had found Kumogakure ninja here.

These had to be scout ninja responsible for gathering intelligence for Kumogakure.

”Ten kilometers away?”

Tsunade glanced at Seiryū.

This brat’s perception was a bit too outrageous, right?

”Are you sure they are Kumogakure ninja?”

”Yeah, they are wearing Kumogakure headbands. If they aren’t Kumogakure ninja, then who could they be?”

”At a distance of ten kilometers, you can still see whether they are wearing headbands? Does Mind’s Eye of the Kagura have that effect? Even the Byakugan can only see the situation a few kilometers away at most, right?”

”My perception technique is not Mind’s Eye of the Kagura, but Vollständig: Heavenly Eye. It is a new technique I developed based on Mind’s Eye of the Kagura, a perception technique unique to the Uzumaki Clan. Didn’t I tell you?”

Tsunade: ”...”

Now she was too lazy to ask how many new techniques Seiryū had developed.

Anyway, every once in a while, Seiryū would display a new technique she had never seen before.

The speed at which he developed new techniques was faster than the speed at which others practiced Ninjutsu.

And the prefix of Vollständig.

Was it in the same series as Fullbring: Heaven’s Chain?

”Vollständig: Heavenly Eye possesses the large-scale perception of Mind’s Eye of the Kagura, while also adding some effects of the Sharingan and Byakugan. Well, it can also perceive malice. It can be considered a very comprehensive perception technique, right?”

Seiryū briefly explained the effects of Vollständig: Heavenly Eye.

Very strong and very effective.

Seiryū smiled smugly. ”So, don’t ever show malice in front of me.”

”Ill intentions are also malice, you know. If I perceive them from you... Hehe!”

Tsunade curled her lips. ”What else would you dare to do to me? Coward!”

She thought back to when she had been ”asleep” not long ago.

Had this brat not lacked the guts to do anything to her?

He only talked about it.

He did not dare do anything.

”?”

A question mark seemed to appear on Seiryū’s forehead, and he was very unhappy.

What did she mean, coward?

This was simply slander!

Just as he wanted to say something, Tsunade did not give him the chance. She said, ”Where are those Kumogakure ninja? Let’s go see what their purpose is first.”

”Hmph...”

With business at hand, Seiryū did not argue too much with Tsunade.

’Clatter!’

With a thought, a Golden Chain shot out from his body and soared into the sky.

Chakra condensed into a bow and arrow at the tip, and a chakra arrow was nocked onto the bowstring.

’Whoosh!’

The bow shot the arrow by itself, and then the arrow flew forward at an extremely fast speed, piercing the air as it flew straight ahead.

With a boom, it landed ten kilometers ahead, blasting a pit one meter in diameter into the ground.

After the chakra arrow dissipated, it left a black diamond-shaped Flying Thunder God mark on the ground.

Now, Seiryū’s application of Heilig Pfeil was also diverse.

”Let’s go.”

Seiryū came to Tsunade’s side and placed his right hand on her shoulder.

Then, the two figures flashed and disappeared from there.

...

The sudden movement made everyone in this Kumogakure scout team change expression drastically.

The leading Jōnin had a serious expression and shouted loudly, ”Alert!”

Deep in the hinterland of the Land of Fire, they were there to investigate Konoha’s every move and transmit the information back to headquarters as soon as possible.

Operating deep behind enemy lines was very dangerous.

Now that such a disturbance had appeared, it naturally made them tense and vigilant.

Could their movements have been discovered?

”It’s one of Konoha’s Legendary Sannin, Tsunade! Run!”

The ninja hiding behind a large tree, who was closest to the disturbance, looked toward the place where the movement came from.

He also saw the two people who appeared as if they had teleported.

At first glance, he recognized Tsunade’s identity. His expression changed drastically, and he shouted to those around him.

Scout ninja were mostly ninja who were skilled in Sensor-type Ninjutsu.

Even if their squad leader was a Jōnin, he definitely could not be an opponent for Tsunade, one of Konoha’s Legendary Sannin and famous throughout the Ninja World.

Their first thought was to run.

Then they had to transmit the information that Tsunade, one of the Sannin, had appeared on this front line back to headquarters.

”Where do you think you can run?”

The positions of all Kumogakure ninja in the field were captured by Seiryū, and at this moment, a sneer curled at the corner of his mouth.

’Clatter!’

With a thought, Golden Chains shot out from Seiryū’s body, as if turning into golden spirit snakes.

They rushed toward the locations of all the Kumogakure ninja.

Almost in the blink of an eye, all the Kumogakure ninja, including that Jōnin, were subdued and sealed by Seiryū.

And under Seiryū’s control, the Golden Chains lifted the eight sealed Kumogakure ninja and pulled them in front of him.

”Demonic Illusion: Truth-Telling Technique.”

Seiryū formed hand seals.

A Genjutsu was cast on several Kumogakure ninja.

He wanted to get the information he wanted from their mouths.

As a result, this Genjutsu did not take effect.

Finding that the Genjutsu did not take effect, Seiryū turned to look at Tsunade and said, ”They have undergone resistance training against Genjutsu. This level of Genjutsu is useless against them.”

”Although I also know interrogation-type Genjutsu, it’s quite time-consuming. How do you think we should deal with them?”

Genjutsu also had different subdivisions and uses.

Making people fall asleep, making people lose their senses, making people hallucinate, and directly invading the spirit to conduct interrogations.

Seiryū was not very good at interrogation-type Genjutsu.

It was also relatively time-consuming.

Most of Seiryū’s Genjutsu came from Shinku, or were learned from purchased Genjutsu scrolls.

Compared to the intensity of the Uchiha Clan’s ocular Genjutsu, they were too weak.

The Sharingan was still good.

As long as the pupil power was strong enough, one could control a Tailed Beast with a single look.

Genjutsu could also be divided into two types.

One was the Uchiha Clan’s Genjutsu, and the other was all other Genjutsu.

There were quite a few illusion-type abilities in the Bleach World, but most of them were Zanpakutō, Fullbring, and word-based abilities.

Currently, Seiryū had mastered all low-level and mid-level Hadō.

But there was no Hadō similar to Genjutsu.

It should be related to the characteristics of Hadō.

Hadō focused on offense, while Bakudō focused on defense.

The Genjutsu Seiryū knew all came from the power system of the Naruto World.

Looking at all the hanging Kumogakure ninja, Tsunade asked Seiryū, ”How long will it take to interrogate the information?”

Seiryū thought for a while. ”It should take about a minute?”

It would still take more than a minute.

Too much of a waste of time!

He envied the Sharingan’s Genjutsu, which could do this kind of thing with a single look.

If there was a chance in the future, he would get one to study.

”...”

Hearing this, the corners of Tsunade’s mouth twitched wildly.

A minute was considered a waste of time?

This brat’s understanding of things really was extraordinary, and also ridiculous.

Glaring at Seiryū, Tsunade raised her voice slightly. ”Pry their mouths open and find out why they penetrated so deep into the hinterland of the Land of Fire!”

”Why are you suddenly angry? You’re so unreasonable.”

Seiryū muttered a sentence.

’Clatter!’

Under Seiryū’s control, the Golden Chains pulled over the Kumogakure ninja with the strongest chakra fluctuations.

This should be the leader.

”Genjutsu: Mind-Binding Death Technique!”

After that, Seiryū formed hand seals, placed his right hand on the opponent’s head, and cast an interrogation-type Genjutsu.

Because he had practiced the Spirit Transformation Technique and Soul Imprisonment Jutsu a little, Seiryū had become more proficient in the use of Genjutsu.

There was some connection between Genjutsu and the soul.

Although the intensity of Seiryū’s Genjutsu was not as good as the Uchiha’s powerful Sharingan Genjutsu, it was still a bit stronger than Yūhi Shinku, a Genjutsu expert.

There was no helping it.

Having good talent meant he could do whatever he wanted.

After about a minute, Seiryū opened his eyes.

He slowly exhaled and said with a serious expression, ”So that’s how it is!”

”What did you find out?”

Looking at Seiryū’s serious expression, Tsunade frowned slightly.

Did this brat interrogate some important information?

This had to be taken seriously.

Seiryū said with a serious face, ”They are a scout team from Kumogakure. This Jōnin’s name is Lai, the one on the left is called Blue Sea, and the one on the right is called Ultraman... Don’t look at me like that. His name really is Ultraman!”

”I also think it’s novel. Ultraman. I wonder if he can use Storm Release: Specium Ray?”

”...”

Tsunade’s face darkened, and she said through gritted teeth, ”Get to the point!”

”Ah, you’re talking about that. Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

Seiryū clapped his hands.

So that was what she meant.

He thought Tsunade was as surprised as he was by the name Ultraman.

Seiryū continued, ”The reason they penetrated deep into the hinterland of the Land of Fire was to investigate Konoha’s actions and responses!”

”And then?”

”What do you mean, and then?”

Tsunade’s fist made a cracking sound as her joints popped.

Now she really wanted to hit someone.

So that was all the information he had interrogated?

Then why was he making such a serious expression?

Even without using Genjutsu interrogation, she could have figured that out with her big toe!

Was this brat deliberately messing with her?

”If you’re asking about other useful information, there is some. The attack organized by Kumogakure this time doesn’t involve just a hundred or so Chunin and Jōnin.”

Seiryū was not teasing Tsunade, just being playful, and continued, ”But as for the specific number, and who is participating in this operation, this guy doesn’t know. It’s quite mysterious.”

(To be continued.)
