Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

Swish.

Seiryū sat cross-legged, his body like a whirlpool as it absorbed natural energy from the surroundings into his body.

It combined with the spiritual and physical energy within him.

Under his control, the three types of energy maintained balance and stability.

A special kind of chakra was formed.

Senjutsu chakra!

Hum!

As the Senjutsu chakra was born and gradually stabilized, black markings faintly appeared around Seiryū’s eyes and on his forehead.

But right at that moment.

A system prompt suddenly sounded in Seiryū’s mind.

[Ding, congratulations to the host for awakening the power of the Quincy, completing another important factor for achieving the status of the Soul King!

Reward obtained: Quincy aptitude improved!]

[Ding, the power of the Quincy is also one of the indispensable powers for achieving the status of the Soul King. Please continue to work hard, host, to develop and perfect the power of the Quincy, and complete the conditions for achieving the status of the Soul King!

Mission released: Develop and perfect the power of the Quincy!

Mission reward: Quincy Fullbring!]

The system prompts that appeared one after another in his mind left Seiryū greatly surprised. ’This can trigger rewards and missions too?’

What was going on?

Could Sage Mode and the Quincy have a connection?

And the mission reward was actually Fullbring?

’Could it be that because both can absorb external power for one’s own use, this common point was treated as the power of the Quincy by the system?’

Seiryū realized something.

Sage Mode was a power born from absorbing external natural energy for one’s own use.

And the Quincy also used a combat style that combined absorbing external Reishi with internal spiritual power.

There were indeed some commonalities between the two!

”Huh? Wait, what the hell? Where is my Senjutsu chakra? Where is my Sage Mode?”

Then.

Seiryū discovered, to his shock.

The Senjutsu chakra born from the balance of natural energy, spiritual energy, and physical energy within him had disappeared.

No, it should not be said that the Senjutsu chakra had disappeared.

Rather, the natural energy within the Senjutsu chakra had dissipated.

Without natural energy, it was naturally impossible to condense Senjutsu chakra or enter Sage Mode!

”??”

Seiryū was full of question marks.

He felt that perhaps it was because of the interference of the system prompt that he had exited Sage Mode.

So he tried absorbing natural energy into his body again.

Compared to just a moment ago.

This time, the speed at which Seiryū absorbed natural energy was immeasurably faster.

It was almost in the blink of an eye.

He had already condensed enough natural energy to activate Sage Mode.

Once again, he maintained balance and stability.

But the result was the same.

At the very moment he was about to condense Senjutsu chakra and enter Sage Mode, the natural energy dissipated.

Seiryū discovered that his body could not store natural energy.

It was like a funnel. What came in went right out.

Natural energy could not remain or be stored within his body.

Therefore, it could not achieve balance with his spiritual and physical energy to give birth to Senjutsu chakra.

If he could not produce Senjutsu chakra, how could he talk about activating Sage Mode?

”???”

There were even more question marks on Seiryū’s forehead.

What the hell kind of situation was this?

Something was wrong!

It seemed he could not activate Sage Mode?

”Huh Seiryū, what happened to you? Why is your speed of absorbing natural energy so fast, and… you should be able to activate Sage Mode now, right? How could it…”

The abnormality in Seiryū was discovered by Katsuyu, and she revealed a puzzled expression.

Just a moment ago, Seiryū was clearly about to succeed.

Even the facial markings of Sage Mode had faintly appeared.

But in an instant, the unique fluctuations of Senjutsu chakra within Seiryū had inexplicably disappeared.

”Kid, what’s going on?”

Tsunade was a bit nervous, also unclear about what changes had occurred to Seiryū.

Could it be that an accident had happened?

”Uh… I seem to be unable to activate Sage Mode. Natural energy can’t stay in my body…”

Seiryū had a pained expression.

What the hell was this?

Where did my massive Sage Mode go?

”Natural energy can’t stay in your body?”

Tsunade furrowed her brows, stepped forward, and placed her right hand on Seiryū’s shoulder.

While performing Ninjutsu to examine him, she said, ”Try it one more time and let me see.”

”Mm.”

Seiryū nodded.

He continued to try.

However, there was no difference.

Natural energy could not stay in his body. It only circulated once through his chakra pathways and vessels.

It could not achieve balance with spiritual and physical energy.

Or rather, just as it was about to reach balance and activate Sage Mode.

The natural energy disappeared.

”Strange, too strange. Why can’t your body store natural energy?”

Tsunade had been observing the changes within Seiryū’s body and found that Seiryū could control natural energy.

But he could not let the natural energy stay within his body.

Why would this situation occur?

She was completely baffled!

”There are people whose bodies can’t store natural energy, but that is a sign of having no talent for Senjutsu and being unable to control natural energy. But… Seiryū can already control natural energy, so how could he be unable to store it?”

Katsuyu’s small eyes also revealed a strange look.

Seiryū’s talent for Senjutsu was something she had never seen before. Something like being unable to store natural energy should not happen to Seiryū.

’The stupid system is messing around again.’

Seiryū had roughly guessed some of the facts.

Just like when the system once treated the Dragon Vein as Hollow power and forcibly made him, the host, absorb the Dragon Vein chakra into his body.

At this moment, it was also because the system treated Sage Mode as the power of the Quincy, and Quincy could not absorb external Reishi to store in their bodies.

The reward of [Aptitude Improvement].

Seiryū had previously inferred.

It did not only improve talent in a certain aspect.

It also caused some subtle changes to his body to a certain extent.

This point could be seen from the fact that others could not perform Kidō.

If it were really just replicating Kidō in this world, if Hadō was equal to Ninjutsu, Bakudō was equal to Sealing Jutsu, and Kaidō was equal to Medical Ninjutsu.

Then how could others be unable to perform them?

The only explanation was.

Seiryū’s body had some particularity. It was different from the average person.

In the words of this world.

It meant he possessed some special bloodline.

The abilities obtained from the system had become his unique ”Kekkei Genkai.”

Without Seiryū’s special nature, others could not perform Kidō.

”…”

Seiryū felt mentally exhausted.

His massive Sage Mode.

Just like that, it was gone?

Without Sage Mode.

Did the idea of combining the three great Sage Modes to give birth to ”Yang Power” have to fall through?

As for the incantations of Kidō, there would not be any problems.

By mobilizing the Dragon Vein chakra containing natural energy, Seiryū could also perform incantations to increase the power of Kidō.

Now, Seiryū could control natural energy.

Dragon Vein chakra containing natural energy would not cause harm to his body.

”I’m speechless!”

There were too many things he could not figure out right now.

How should the power of the Quincy be used?

How should he complete the system mission [Develop and perfect the power of the Quincy]?

At this moment, Seiryū felt a bit numb!

”…”

Tsunade and Katsuyu looked at each other, confused.

They did not understand what was going on with Seiryū’s strange situation.

”Kid, try it one more…”

Just as Tsunade was about to say something, she was suddenly interrupted by the chakra surging from Seiryū.

She stared blankly at Seiryū’s actions, falling into a state of bewilderment.

”Huh? What, what’s going on?”

Katsuyu was also stunned, looking at Seiryū with an incredulous expression.

Because.

They saw it.

Seiryū, who had not activated Sage Mode, was actually performing Senjutsu after reciting an incantation!?

This, this, this…

”Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle. Hadō #63: Raikōhō!”

As Seiryū finished the incantation, a thick pillar of lightning shot out from his palm.

Boom.

It blasted a huge protruding rock not far away into powder. The gust of wind blew over, and the power was quite exaggerated.

”As expected, it works!”

Seiryū muttered to himself.

This was something he had suddenly thought of.

Although because the system was messing around, he could not store natural energy in his body, form Senjutsu chakra, or enter Sage Mode.

But natural energy would circulate through his body and could be utilized.

When he first performed a Kidō incantation.

The Senjutsu chakra that Katsuyu had channeled into him was also something he could not control, and the natural energy dispersed in his body, corroding his chakra pathways and vessels.

But Seiryū could still chant and perform Kidō!

Dragon Vein chakra was in a similar situation.

Because of the guidance of the incantation’s words.

The uncontrollable Senjutsu chakra and Dragon Vein chakra containing natural energy could still be mobilized by him, and Kidō could be performed through incantation!

Based on this.

Seiryū began to try.

And it actually worked!

’Just like that time before, Seiryū really does have some special aspects. Could he really be the reincarnation of the Six Paths Sage?’

Katsuyu pondered in her heart.

Previously, when Seiryū had not mastered Senjutsu, he used ”reciting incantations” to increase his focus and perfectly mobilized the Senjutsu chakra she had channeled to him.

Such a thing was too unusual.

She even had a conjecture, wondering if Seiryū was the reincarnation of the Six Paths Sage.

Now, this conjecture was even stronger.

Seiryū was just too special!

”This is… Senjutsu, right? Why can you perform Senjutsu without activating Sage Mode?”

Tsunade had also mastered Senjutsu and Sage Mode.

She was no longer unfamiliar with the aura of Senjutsu.

She could see that the Lightning Release Seiryū used just now was a type of Senjutsu.

To be precise.

It was Ninjutsu performed using Senjutsu chakra.

With this extra step, it became Senjutsu.

This kid clearly did not activate Sage Mode, so why could he perform Senjutsu?

What exactly was going on with this kid?

”It should count as Senjutsu, right? Although my body can’t store natural energy, natural energy will still enter my body…”

After thinking for a moment, Seiryū explained, ”With my control over chakra and natural energy, I can combine the three types of energy at the moment of performing the technique to form Senjutsu chakra, and then perform Senjutsu. Can you understand it if I put it this way?”

”In other words, even if you don’t activate Sage Mode, you can still perform Senjutsu?”

”Mm!”

”…I am becoming more and more curious about your body!”

”Huh? Aren’t you being too hasty? I’m still just a child!”

”…”

Looking at Seiryū’s vigilant backward step, black lines appeared on Tsunade’s forehead.

Was that what she meant?

”How nice…”

Katsuyu looked at the two with a motherly smile, although others could not see this motherly smile.

But at this moment, Katsuyu had a very strange feeling in her heart.

She felt that this master and disciple were too interesting!

If Seiryū knew what Katsuyu was thinking.

He would definitely say that this was shipping them!

”Stop talking about these irrelevant things!”

Too lazy to argue with Seiryū about this, Tsunade continued, ”Let’s not mention the fact that you can use Senjutsu without activating Sage Mode. What were you chanting just now? Why do you have to chant those?”

Seiryū’s tone was serious. ”Because it’s stylish, cool, and has presence. Most importantly, it can increase my focus, allowing me to use Senjutsu chakra without entering Sage Mode…”

Stylish, cool, and having presence were true.

Increasing focus was just nonsense.

It was actually because without doing so, he could not perform the Kidō after the incantation.

However.

Although he could not store natural energy, it seemed he could combine the three energies into Senjutsu chakra in an instant?

This brought up a question.

Since he could use Senjutsu chakra, could he use other Ninjutsu besides Kidō?

For example, Rasengan.

Could it be performed using Senjutsu chakra?

Tsunade: ”…”

Should not have asked!

Tsunade thought of a question. ”Can all your Ninjutsu be turned into Senjutsu through this method?”

”Kidō is like this, that’s for sure. As for Rasengan and some other Ninjutsu, I need to try…”

Mentioning this.

Seiryū was also a bit hesitant.

The Kidō obtained from the system was different from the Ninjutsu he practiced himself.

Tsunade was even more confused. ”Is there any difference?”

In her understanding.

Seiryū’s Kidō was just a different name.

There was no difference from Ninjutsu.

How could it be that some could be done and some could not?

”My Kidō cannot be performed by others, while Rasengan can be performed by others. That is the difference…”

Seiryū explained briefly.

”But I can try it.”

Saying that, Seiryū began to absorb external natural energy.

Before the natural energy dissipated from his body, he tried to combine the natural energy with the chakra in his body.

Hum, hum, hum.

Seiryū opened his right hand.

A Rasengan spun rapidly, and it also possessed the aura of Senjutsu.

This was Senjutsu: Rasengan!

”It succeeded?”

Looking at the Senjutsu: Rasengan spinning in his palm, Seiryū was also a bit surprised.

But he quickly figured it out and thought to himself, ’The Quincy’s combat style is combining the absorption of external Reishi with one’s own spiritual power, which has commonalities with Senjutsu.’

’Perhaps this is the reason why the system treated Sage Mode as the power of the Quincy?’

’If so, both are Kidō performed using Senjutsu chakra, so what is the difference between chanting and not chanting?’

This was a question Seiryū had thought about before.

The Kidō incantation was performed with natural energy and Senjutsu chakra as conditions.

After entering Sage Mode, one also used the internal Senjutsu chakra to perform Kidō.

Since both used Senjutsu chakra to perform, was the power the same?

If it was the same.

Then chanting for Kidō was simply unnecessary, a superfluous act!

”There’s no reason it would be the same, right?”

Seiryū whispered.

He felt it could not be the same.

He would know if he tried!

”Hadō #63: Raikōhō!”

Boom!

”Sprinkled on the bones of the beast… Hadō #63: Raikōhō!”

Boom!

”It really is different…”

Looking at the comparison of power between a Raikōhō performed with Senjutsu chakra without chanting and one performed after chanting.

Seiryū already had a judgment.

There was a difference between the two Raikōhō.

The former, under the blessing of Senjutsu chakra, had its power significantly increased, but it had a certain upper limit.

The latter was more powerful and had broken the original upper limit.

Excluding other factors and using data purely to illustrate it.

Suppose the power of a Raikōhō performed with ordinary chakra was one hundred.

Then the power of a Raikōhō performed with Senjutsu chakra could reach one hundred and thirty.

And the Raikōhō after chanting, although also performed with Senjutsu chakra, had already broken through the original upper limit, and its power could reach one hundred and fifty!

The power and upper limit of Kidō after chanting were higher, and it was stronger than Kidō that simply used Senjutsu chakra!
