Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 39: Chapter 38: Wood Demon Dragon, Cyan Rattan Advancement

Return to the territory.

Lin You excitedly came to the Tree of Life and took out the Species Token from his bosom.

This was the second Rare Species Token he obtained, and his heart was filled with immense anticipation.

Taking a deep breath, he immediately chose to use it.

[Would you like to consume 1000 points of Magic Energy to use the Species Token (Rare)?]

Luckily.

The Magic Energy from Lin You’s previous ranking rewards still had over a thousand points remaining.

He didn’t hesitate and chose yes directly.

The next second, the token in his hand turned into a stream of light and merged into the trunk of the Tree of Life, with pieces of fluorescence falling from the tree.

[Congratulations, you have unlocked the Tier Five Rare Species: Wood Demon Dragon]

…

A brand-new species name appeared before Lin You’s eyes.

Just by the name, Lin You felt that this species was extraordinary, so he immediately spent a hundred Magic Energy to recruit one.

In an instant, light flashed, plants grew, gradually condensing into a plant dragon more than half a person’s height in front of him.

[Name: Wood Demon Dragon]

[Race: Plant]

[Level: Tier Five (0/250)]

[Power: 175]

[Constitution: 175]

[Agility: 200]

[Spirit: 175]

[Skills: Rapid Shadow (body turns into a shadow, doubling its speed in a short time.), Super Regeneration (Power of Nature flows through the whole body, greatly enhancing self-healing ability, can regenerate severed limbs.)]

[Introduction: Once a Guardian of the World Tree, it possesses the highest overall attributes among all plant species, extremely fast, capable of flying, with a Natural Crystal Core in its chest as its life core.]

…

“Such high attributes!”

Looking at the proudly standing Wood Demon Dragon before him, Lin You was so shocked he nearly couldn’t speak.

Even ignoring individual attributes, the overall attributes of this Wood Demon Dragon almost rival those of Lingxi with Royal Bloodline.

Especially the agility, a whole two hundred points, definitely the highest among the Tier Five species he’s seen!

Truly worthy of the name Rare Species.

With such attributes, Lin You doesn’t even need to use mutation on it, as recruiting it directly will suffice for battle, saving both convenience and money.

Moreover, Lin You always thought his plant species were slow in movement, with only a cumbersome Tree Spirit Leader as a melee unit.

The addition of this Wood Demon Dragon instantly compensates for his shortcomings.

The most important thing is, it can fly!

Although now it looks like a baby dragon and can’t carry people, there’s a chance its body will grow bigger as it levels up, and won’t it be able to carry him around then?

Regarding this, Lin You is quite expectant.

Then he circled around the Wood Demon Dragon for a bit and found that it was composed entirely of plants, with leaves and branches growing on its head, limbs, tail, and wings, and streams of light from the luminous green orb on its chest flowed throughout, making it look imposing.

This speed-type species is most suitable for raids and reconnaissance.

Considering that the species are not fully recruited and resources are scarce, mutations could cause it to lose its flying ability.

So Lin You spent the last four hundred Magic Energy to recruit four more Wood Demon Dragons for future needs.

And his accumulated Magic Energy was completely exhausted.

Only then did Lin You have time to open the regional channel and check the messages about the Treasure Chest contest.

“Brothers, how’s the situation at the mine?”

“What else? The stuff in the Treasure Chest has long been snatched away, many people died, and quite a few Tier Five ones as well.”

“So terrifying? Good thing I didn’t go.”

“Heard there were Species Tokens, Resource Exchange Coupons, and Upgrade Scrolls that could directly upgrade the territory to Tier Five.”

“Whoa! Directly to Tier Five? And Species Tokens too?”

“Yeah, that’s what those on-site big shots said. Seems like a Plant Type snatched the token.”

“Another Plant Type?”

Seeing this message instantly left everyone stunned.

During the first airdrop Treasure Chest, it was a Plant Type that snatched the items.

This time too?

This left them wondering if the two might be the same person, with some even setting their sights on Lin You, suspecting he was the one.

Otherwise, which Plant Type could snatch something from so many Tier Five big shots and then escape unscathed?

But the problem is…

They have no evidence to prove it was Lin You.

After all, few have actually seen what Lin You looks like, let alone recognize him.

And even if they knew it was him, what could they do?

They surely can’t provoke the second-ranked big shot on the leaderboard, right?

So they just had their fun in talk, soon drowned by more messages, the whole regional channel bustling, all discussing the Treasure Chest matter.

Lin You watched for a while.

Finding no one could confirm his identity, he finally felt at ease to close the chat channel.

By then, the sky was gradually getting dark.

He didn’t head out again, came to the open space in the territory, set up a pot and lit a fire, preparing a sumptuous dinner to reward his hard day’s work.

As for where the pot came from?

It was naturally crafted by Lin You in the Production Workshop using Iron Ore and Copper Ore.

He only found this out yesterday, and there’s even lots of condiments made from plants inside, which can be crafted with some materials and Magic Energy.

Incredibly convenient.

With these items, he no longer has to eat dry grilled meat all the time.

While thinking.

A prompt suddenly sounded in his mind.

[Congratulations, Highly Poisonous Demoness·Cyan Rattan’s experience has reached full value, successfully advanced to Tier Five!]

…

“Cyan Rattan has advanced?”

Lin You paused for a moment, immediately becoming delighted.

Unexpectedly, after four days of accumulation, Cyan Rattan’s experience finally reached full value.

In no time, Cyan Rattan’s huge body was enveloped by a beam of light, beginning to grow rapidly.

The top bud also gradually changed from light purple to pink, and its size increased a lot, with vines entwining his tree house, weaving into a net-like decoration.

Even more startling is that the forest outside the territory formed by gigantic vines expanded nearly a hundred meters, enveloped in a faint pink mist, looking endlessly eerie and terrifying.

[Name: Pink Demoness·Cyan Rattan (Royal Family)]

[Race: Plant]

[Level: Tier Five (0/250)]

[Power: 185]

[Constitution: 200]

[Agility: 0]

[Spirit: 180]

[Skills: Devouring, Charming Poisonous Mist, Thorn Forest]

[Introduction: The king among Pink Demonesses, with giant vines and poisonous mist forming its own domain, guarding one side.]

…

No wonder it’s a plant with Royal Bloodline; apart from agility being zero, its basic attributes exceed those of ordinary Tier Five by a considerable margin.

The Tier Five Cyan Rattan vastly improves the territory’s defensive capabilities.

Not only has the forest range expanded, but it also retained the Pink Demoness’ Charming Poisonous Mist.

As long as enemies step into the forest, they’ll be charmed and their bodies corroded by the mist, killing without needing him to lift a finger.

Lin You is very fortunate; good thing he acquired the Ancient Tree of Knowledge earlier, or else Cyan Rattan couldn’t have advanced so quickly.

Looking at it this way, the effect of the Ancient Tree of Knowledge increasing other plants’ experience by 1 point per hour is incredibly powerful, and there’s no level restriction.

Regular Tier Four species just need to stay nearby for four to five days to level up to Tier Five, truly a great helper for early-stage leveling.
