Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 35: Chapter 34: Pink Demoness

“Still second, huh?”

In his territory, Lin You silently looked at the regional leaderboard.

Just now, he spent eighteen hundred points of Magic Energy at once, recruiting eighteen Tier Five Species, all of which are Rare Species.

For this, he purposely didn’t undergo mutation, trying to maximize the number of his Tier Five Species.

Yet despite this, he still can’t surpass Yin Tiange in first place, which shows just how strong that guy is.

At least more than twenty Tier Five Species!

Lin You wasn’t too surprised by this result, but he did feel somewhat amazed.

And while he was checking the leaderboard, a prompt sounded in his mind.

[Congratulations, you have achieved second place in the regional leaderboard, rewarding you with 5000 Magic Energy and 2 Tier Five Territory Essences]

In an instant, he received another five thousand Magic Energy, just enough to mutate species.

After browsing through the leaderboard, he closed the interface and got up to the Tier Five Species he had just recruited.

The advanced form of Plant Elemental Spirit is a species called “Plant Elemental Spirit.”

Like the Plant Elemental Spirit, it’s composed of light globes, but slightly larger in size, surrounded by light-formed tentacles, easily recognizable.

These are all acceptable.

After all, he’s already accustomed to the quirky forms of this species.

The recruitment prices of Tier Five Species are the most difficult for him to accept.

It directly rose to one hundred Magic Energy!

Adding the one hundred Magic Energy needed for mutation, it means creating a Tier Five Species costs two hundred Magic Energy!

Simply outrageous.

Apparently, there’s a reason why others don’t have many Tier Five Species.

If not for this leaderboard reward, he probably couldn’t afford to recruit a few Tier Five Species.

No choice, for survival, even if it’s expensive, he has to accept it and directly use mutation on one of the Plant Elemental Spirits.

[Mutating a Tier Five Summoned Unit requires consuming 100 points of Magic Energy, would you like to proceed?]

“Proceed!”

Listening to the prompt in his ear, Lin You gritted his teeth and responded, feeling heartbroken at the same time.

Then a flash of light passed, and the Plant Elemental Spirit before him transformed into a vine plant taller than a human.

[Name: Pink Demoness]

[Race: Plant]

[Level: Tier Five (0/250)]

[Power: 170]

[Constitution: 173]

[Agility: 145]

[Spirit: 162]

[Skills: Plant Protection, Highly Poisonous Vine Whip, Charming Poisonous Mist]

[Introduction: Advanced form of Highly Poisonous Demoness, the poison it sprays is enhanced, with effects of charming enemies and paralyzing their spirit.]

…

“Charm enemies?”

After reading the Pink Demoness’s information, Lin You looked somewhat strange.

Unexpectedly, after the advancement of the Highly Poisonous Demoness, it would become like this.

Not only has its size increased quite a bit, but its form also carries a hint of enchantment, with a top bud turning pink, spreading wisps of pollen all around.

Lin You, as its summoner, was unaffected by this pollen.

But he could feel that this pollen had a charming effect on living beings.

If there’s an opportunity in the future, he might try it on someone else to see the actual effect.

He just wonders who will be the first lucky one.

Lin You thought maliciously.

Then.

He let the Pink Demoness try attacking, discovering its vine attack range increased from over thirty meters to over forty meters.

This distance definitely leaves all species except for ranged ones to wonder in vain.

Even for ranged attacks, few might reach this distance.

This is the advantage of Plant Type Species, growth!

As long as there is land, they can keep growing, launching surprise attacks when enemies are unprepared.

After studying the changes in the Pink Demoness, Lin You continued to mutate other species.

…

Half an hour later.

All eighteen Plant Elemental Spirits he had recruited had transformed into new Tier Five Species.

Among them, seven Pink Demonesses, two Blast Mushrooms, all inherited the “Plant Protection” skill of Plant Elemental Spirit, apparently highly compatible with this skill.

Additionally, four Wood Demons similar to Lingxi, inheriting the “Nature Control” long-range attack skill.

The remaining five.

Three mutated into the advanced form of Tree Spirit Warrior, “Tree Spirit Leader,” two mutated into the advanced form of Cannibal Flower King, “Overlord Flower.”

Upon reaching Tier Five, the Tree Spirit Leader’s size significantly increased, with its power greatly enhanced, making it suitable as a meat shield.

As for the Overlord Flower, it grew many spikes, significantly strengthening its close combat ability, making it exceptional for defending territory.

After mutating eighteen species.

Lin You glanced at his Magic Energy, with 3,200 remaining.

But he didn’t continue recruiting species.

Because he found out, after these three days of accumulation, the experience of those Tier Four plants was almost full.

As long as the Ancient Tree of Knowledge was present, they’d soon reach Tier Five, eliminating the need to expend Magic Energy on new recruits.

It’s just right, he collected a lot of stone these days, this Magic Energy can be used to upgrade other buildings and research species.

With this thought in mind, he continued busying himself within the territory.

…

On the other side.

The Lords were still arguing endlessly in the regional channel over the ranking results this time.

And Luo Lei, who had been watching the leaderboard, only came back to his senses after a long while, eyes filled with shock.

“Second place! He actually did it!”

Luo Lei couldn’t believe it.

Just a second ago, he was still over forty places, the next second jumped straight to second; how many Tier Five Species must be recruited to achieve this?

But he could be sure.

At this time, Lin You probably had no fewer than ten Tier Five Species around him, otherwise, it couldn’t be this exaggerated.

Ten Tier Five Species…

Even against one casually dispatched, it’d be hard for him to resist, only possible to win by exerting all effort, much less against ten?

…

Meanwhile.

In a desolate volcanic region.

Within a wall made of flames.

Yan Wu was also looking at the newly updated leaderboard, expressing unparalleled surprise and seriousness.

“This guy… really not simple.”

Initially, his intentional goodwill with Lin You was merely because he felt Lin You had the strength to rival him.

Unexpectedly, it would be quite beyond his expectations.

Taking a leap of more than forty ranks isn’t something everyone can manage, not even him.

He had to take it more seriously.

…

In conclusion.

The ranking incident today thoroughly affirmed Lin You’s reputation, securing his title as the leading figure of Plant Type Species.

No one dares underestimate Plant Type Species anymore, nor thinks they are weaker compared to other species, also rectifying the name of this species for once.

At this moment, Lin You however ignored the outside world and focused on his own affairs.

After upgrading the remaining buildings to Tier Four, he went to the [Production Workshop], checked the producible list, and soon found what he wanted.

[Building Name: Wall]

[Production Introduction: Consuming timber and stone to construct a more robust wall.]

Since last time when part of his territory wall got destroyed by Murong Tian, Lin You deeply realized the defense insufficiency of his territory wall, unable to withstand the attacks from those species.

Anyway, there’s no way to upgrade to Tier Six for now, just right to use the collected materials to upgrade the wall, enhancing the territory’s defense, to prevent others from easily breaking through again next time.
