Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 5: Chapter 4: No Honor in Battle

Lin You did not expect that his territory would attract demons above Tier Three.

On a rock outside the territory stood a lion with a robust figure and a body covered in red fur!

[Name: Flaming Lion]

[Race: Wild Beast]

[Level: Tier Three]

[Power: 32]

[Constitution: 27]

[Agility: 30]

[Spirit: 29]

[Skills: Flaming Surround]

[Introduction: A ferocious beast among low-tier creatures, capable of simple flame manipulation.]

…

Its nearly thirty points in combined attributes far exceeded those of the Tier Two Thorny Vine Flower.

How could such a powerful monster appear here?

Lin You was at a loss.

But when he saw the Flaming Lion leap down from the rock towards the bodies of several Black Wolves, a revelation flashed through his mind.

It turned out that this creature was attracted by the scent of blood.

Just as expected.

The Flaming Lion stared intently at Lin You for quite a while before slowly moving to the Black Wolf corpses and began to gorge itself, completely ignoring Lin You.

This sparked an idea in Lin You’s mind.

Although the Fire Element restrains plants, he was still in a safe period; as long as he didn’t leave the territory, he wouldn’t face any danger. Why not take this opportunity to try killing this Flaming Lion?

If successful, the reward would undoubtedly be enormous!

The more he thought about it, the more feasible the plan seemed.

Taking advantage of the Flaming Lion’s inattention, Lin You immediately ordered the Thorny Vine Flower and Thorny Vine Grass beside him to attack.

The next second, the sound of something slicing through the air could be heard; spiked vines shot forward several meters, straight towards the Flaming Lion outside the territory, faster than before!

But at that moment.

The Flaming Lion, still devouring the corpses, suddenly lifted its head and breathed a stream of fire at the vines.

The menacing vines were instantly burnt to cinders; indeed, the Fire Element still held some restraint over plants.

Fortunately, the physical attribute of the Tier Two Thorny Vine Flower was not much weaker than the Flaming Lion, and it possessed healing skills, barely withstanding the Flaming Lion’s flames.

With a swift move, it coiled around the lion’s legs.

“Roar!”

The Flaming Lion roared furiously, flames erupting from its body, trying to burn the vines. Fortunately, the vines retracted in time to avoid the flames.

Soon, the lion’s flames dissipated, losing its ability to suppress the plants.

Seizing this chance, two Tree Spirit Guards charged forward, stabbing the Flaming Lion with wooden thorns.

The Thorny Vine Flower and Tier One Thorny Vine Grass surged with a dense mass of vines, employing a strategy of sheer numbers to bind the Flaming Lion, entangling its body.

The Flaming Lion struggled desperately, constantly shaking off the vines and crashing against the fence.

However, the vines were too numerous, tightening with every wrap, and with the Flower Spirit continually assisting with healing, its actions were temporarily restrained!

Finally, the Tier Two Thorny Vine Flower seized its opportunity, its spiked vines slashing open the lion’s vulnerable throat.

“Puff!”

In an instant, blood flowed profusely.

The Flaming Lion went into a frenzy, swatting away the two Tree Spirit Guards with a paw and tearing off the vines entangling it.

Only the Tier Two Thorny Vine Flower, with its strong vitality and healing, could barely hold on, though it was in a precarious position.

Cracks continuously appeared on the vines, but with the Flower Spirit’s healing and self-repair, they were repeatedly reassembled, feeling as though they could snap at any moment.

Thankfully.

Due to excessive bleeding from the severed artery.

The Flaming Lion’s power dwindled, its struggles weakening, and it could no longer use its flame ability.

This allowed the Thorny Vine Flower a moment of respite, with a vine whip wrapping around the lion’s neck, deeply embedding into its wound.

The Flaming Lion tried to struggle but was utterly powerless.

It could only allow the vines to bind ever tighter, sink deeper, its body convulsing.

Eventually, it let out a wail and collapsed heavily onto the ground.

[Congratulations! You have successfully slain a Tier Three Flaming Lion, earning 15 points of Magic Energy.]

Hearing the sound echo in his mind, Lin You was stunned.

He had not expected to actually succeed in slaying a Tier Three Demon!

Though the methods used were not particularly honorable, he had truly accomplished it!

As the main force in the attack, the Thorny Vine Flower also gained ten experience points, equivalent to slaying ten Tier Two demons.

Lin You then realized that only the species obtaining the kill would gain experience.

Other species, except for healing species that gained extra experience when healing, showed no change in experience.

Even so, he was extremely thrilled.

“Quick, drag its corpse inside.”

He hurriedly issued the command, asking the Tier Two Thorny Vine Flower to drag the corpse.

Because at this moment, only it and the Flower Spirit were still relatively intact.

As for those few Tier One Thorny Vine Grass and Tree Spirit Guards, they were much worse off.

The vines were almost all torn off, and they were severely injured, all appearing dispirited.

This battle could be described as extremely brutal.

Fortunately, there were his Healing Skills and the Flower Spirit, preventing any loss of personnel.

Otherwise, Lin You would have been heartbroken.

After processing the corpse of the Flaming Lion, Lin You took the opportunity to check the information of the Thorny Vine Flower.

[Name: Thorny Vine Flower]

[Race: Plant]

[Level: Tier Two (10/25)]

[Power: 22]

[Constitution: 23]

[Agility: 10]

[Spirit: 18]

[Skills: Breath of Nature, Vine Whip]

[Introduction: The lowest-tier plant summoned creature, initially possessing the ability to move.]

Just as he expected, after gaining experience, the attributes of the Thorny Vine Flower increased again, becoming stronger than before.

“Now all that’s left is the stone.”

Lin You muttered to himself, called up the territory information, and glanced at it, the 10 points of magic energy required for the upgrade had been obtained by killing the Flaming Lion.

Now all he needed was 100 units of stone, and his territory could be upgraded to Tier Two, at which time he would also be elevated to Tier Two, significantly enhancing his strength.

Stone, is it hard to find?

He happened to be near a mountain, surrounded by stone, so he asked the Tree Spirit Guards and Thorny Vine Flower to bring some back.

Soon, he moved with the species capable of movement and began to act.

Within just half a day, the required 100 stone for the upgrade was gathered, and he returned to the territory once more.

The Tree of Life seemed to sense it was about to be upgraded, its branches swaying left and right, scattering fluorescence below.

[Upgrade the territory?]

The voice echoed in his mind.

“Upgrade!”

Lin You did not hesitate in the slightest.

In the next second, the entire territory was enveloped in dazzling light, the fence quickly expanded outward, transforming from the initial wooden fence to stone pillars, becoming much more solid.

Even the Tree of Life grew to a height of twenty meters, its branches and leaves covering half the territory, presenting a picturesque scenery.

At the same time, Lin You felt a surge of formidable power rushing into his body, continuously nourishing his body, enhancing his strength, perception, and reaction to a higher level.

Lin You was sure that if he encountered those Tier One Black Wolves now, he could absolutely crush them with a punch, without even needing a weapon!

“Is this Tier Two? So powerful!”

Lin You couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration while his gaze landed on the territory information.

[Territory Name: Tree of Life]

[Territory Level: Tier Two]

[Territory Durability: 250/250]

[Recruitment Species: Plant Type]

[Recruitment Number: 10/20]

[Territory Introduction: The fundamental survival of the Lord, possessing various functions, devastation of the territory core signifies the Lord’s demise.]

[Upgrade Requirements: Wood (250/250), Stone (3/250), Magic Energy 5/50]

[Note: Plant Type territory traits, self-supply of wood.]

The upgraded Tier Two territory not only increased durability significantly but also increased the recruitment number by ten.

But what surprised Lin You the most was the next sound that echoed in his mind.

[Successfully upgraded the territory to Tier Two.]

[Unlocked Tier Two Species: Explosive Mushroom]

[Unlocked Territory Skill: Deportation (Can deport specified summoned units and return half the magic energy.)]

…

Tier Two Species!

And a territory skill!

Unexpectedly, upgrading to Tier Two unlocked new things, and two at once.

Initially, Lin You was worried that too many Tier One species occupied the recruitment numbers, but the emergence of the “Deportation” skill certainly was a great help.

Besides, upon looking, he realized that recruiting Tier Two species required 5 points of magic energy, and he had just enough left to recruit one.

Thinking for a moment, he decided to proceed with the recruitment.

After a flash of light, a fire-red mushroom covered in spores appeared in front of him.
