Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 19: Chapter 18: Uninvited Guests

After researching the attributes of the Ancient Tree of Knowledge, Lin You began using the magic energy he earned on the way to recruit new species.

Today marks the fifth day since they arrived in this world.

Less than three days remain until the end of the seven-day safety period.

So he must hurry and fill the forty species slots as soon as possible.

At the same time, he also has to reinforce the defense fortifications around the territory; otherwise, with just the surrounding stone pillar fences, they likely won’t hold for long.

If demons break in, that’s small trouble, but if the Tree of Life is damaged, his life could be at risk, and he certainly doesn’t want to die here early.

With that decision made,

Lin You led the Plant Legion outside the territory, starting to dig traps and increase the fencing. The Flower Spirit, which couldn’t do heavy labor, fluttered around, helping the plants recover from fatigue.

Even the six Cannibal Flower Kings in charge of guarding the fence moved past the barrier, using their mouths to hold the fence, helping to secure it.

The entire area outside the territory was bustling with moving plants and busy figures, creating quite a lively scene.

They worked tirelessly until evening, finally completing all the defense fortifications, and the fence was significantly raised and reinforced.

“Alright, everyone worked hard, go back and rest now.”

As the sky darkened, Lin You waved his hand and led the plants back into the territory, then closed the entrance.

During this time, he also used the demon corpses he brought back earlier to feed the Cannibal Flower Kings, allowing them to replenish nutrients.

As for the other species, they are basically like ordinary plants, only needing nutrients from the soil and sunlight, making them relatively worry-free.

After eating a little something, Lin You headed to his exclusive small wooden cabin to rest.

…

The night passed quickly.

To Lin You’s surprise,

early in the morning, his territory was visited by two unexpected guests, two lords accompanied by quite a few species.

“Brother, there’s a territory here!”

Among the two, the younger-looking man exclaimed in surprise, quickly spotting Lin You’s territory.

They emerged from the nearby forest, looking a bit disheveled, as if they had just been through a battle.

“Didn’t expect a territory in such a remote place, let’s go take a look.”

The one called “Brother” by the young man was a middle-aged man with a weathered face, accompanied by over a dozen Beastman species, mixed with a group of wild beasts the young man brought along.

Seeing Lin You’s territory, the two immediately led their subordinates cautiously closer, wanting to explore further.

But the next second, numerous vines suddenly appeared, slithering like serpents, swiftly surrounding them.

“Plant Type!?”

The man was taken aback, such numerous and fierce vines could only be managed by at least Tier Three species. Yet he hadn’t heard of any successful Plant Lords advancing to Tier Three.

Without thinking too much, he immediately shouted in the direction of the territory.

“Friend, we are just passing through and mean no harm.”

His loud voice echoed in the surroundings.

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the vines on the ground stopped, surrounding them within ten meters.

“If you’re just passing through, then hurry up and leave.”

The wooden house’s door opened, and Lin You slowly walked out.

Only then did the two outside notice the situation inside Lin You’s territory, causing them to secretly marvel.

In the vast territory, dozens of terrifying plants wandered around, each exuding an immensely powerful aura. Even the Cannibal Flowers guarding the walls were enormously large, seemingly capable of swallowing them whole in one bite.

What shocked them the most was the Tree of Life situated in the middle of the territory.

It was countless times taller and larger than the Trees of Life they knew from other Plant Type territories.

Proudly it stood, like an ancient giant tree!

Is this…

truly a Tier Three territory?

Are Tier Three Plant Type territories really this formidable?

The two could not fathom it, their gazes landing on Lin You, who had exited from the wooden house, filled with astonishment.

After being stunned for a while, the older man was the first to recover, loudly addressing the inside of the territory: “Friend, we just came from the wasteland, and we’d like to ask where the wall that blocks the beast tide is located. Could you please tell us?”

“Wall? Just pass through this forest, and you’ll find it.”

Lin You casually pointed in the direction of the forest.

He hadn’t expected anyone to come all the way from the wasteland to investigate the beast tide situation, and judging by the species accompanying these two, they didn’t seem weak at all, at least Tier Three. No wonder they managed to come from such a distance.

Receiving his answer, the two outside quickly expressed their gratitude.

“Thank you, then we shan’t disturb our friend’s rest any longer.”

Saying so, the man and the young man exchanged glances, immediately turning to leave, continuing deeper into the forest, and soon disappearing from Lin You’s sight.

After Lin You’s territory could no longer be seen, the young man couldn’t help but whisper: “Brother, why didn’t we test that guy’s depth? He’s just a Plant Type.”

“Plant Type? Have you ever seen a Plant Type of such scale? Let alone those species, even I haven’t seen them!”

The man glared fiercely at the young man.

The young man quickly realized, hesitantly speaking: “Brother, are you saying… those are all Tier Three species?”

The man took a deep breath: “Highly likely, and from what I’ve observed, that young man is quite extraordinary, showing no signs of fear towards us.”

“So what, he probably relies on the safety period to think we can’t do anything to him,” the young man scoffed.

“If that’s really the case, it would be for the best.”

The man’s expression was grave, looking once again in Lin You’s territory’s direction.

“In any case, it’s best to be cautious. Surviving as a Plant Type and reaching Tier Three in such a short time is no simple matter. We came only to investigate the beast tide situation, and that guy’s territory being so close, yet not fazed at all, with such defense fortifications, is very peculiar.”

“What’s peculiar? I think you’re overthinking it, brother. I guarantee that after seven days, his territory will be the first to be destroyed. Perhaps next time we come, it will already be gone.”

“Maybe…”

The man didn’t confirm nor deny, choosing not to say more.

After identifying their direction, they continued towards the wall, remaining wary of their surroundings.

It was said that many Tier Three demons roamed the forest, very dangerous, so caution was necessary.

Soon, the two drifted farther away, fading into the deep forest.

…

On another side,

After seeing off the unexpected guests, Lin You began to busy himself within the territory again.

The first task was undoubtedly to use the magic energy accumulated overnight by the Bathing Fire Lotus to recruit more species, to bolster the territory’s force.

Undergoing his many mutations, a series of brand-new Tier Four species emerged consecutively.

To Lin You’s delight, among the ten plants that mutated this time, two evolved into advanced forms of Explosive Mushrooms!
