Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 32: Chapter 31: Regional Ranking Rewards

“Quick! Restrict its movement!”

Lin You shouted to Lingxi beside him, immediately drawing out the bone great saber produced in the production workshop, taking a battle-ready stance.

At the same time, the plants around him sprang into action, countless vines surged out, skimming the ground to surround the Rock Demon.

The Rock Demon, which was charging forward, was instantly bound tightly by the vines, tied up like a rice dumpling.

“Roar!”

The Rock Demon let out an angry roar, yanking its limbs forcefully, tearing all the vines on its body apart.

“What terrifying power!”

Finally, Lin You truly witnessed the terrifying aspect of a Power Type demon, something his Tier Four Demons couldn’t handle at all.

Not daring to be careless, he immediately shouted to the side, “Lingxi!”

Receiving the command, Lingxi swiftly flew up, pointing the magic staff in her hand out of thin air, causing a large number of thorns to grow on the Rock Demon’s body, binding it again.

The Rock Demon struggled desperately, but couldn’t escape the binds of the thorns in a short time and fell heavily to the ground.

Then one by one, red mushrooms appeared, landing on its body.

“Boom boom boom——”

The deafening explosions shook the entire air violently.

The mushroom bombs from the Tier Five Bursting Mushroom truly had remarkable power.

Even a Rock Demon with strong life force suffered significant injuries, roaring in anger as it struggled to get up, its massive fists suddenly smashing towards the ground.

In an instant, the ground shattered, spreading out with the Rock Demon at the center.

“Retreat quickly!”

Lin You’s expression changed, immediately leading the plants in a rapid retreat, narrowly avoiding the Rock Demon’s area attack.

Looking at the Rock Demon again, he found the ground around it had completely collapsed, a horrific sight.

Truly worthy of being a demon known for its power, the destruction of a single attack was terrifying.

However, Lin You’s plants weren’t to be underestimated either.

Especially the two Tier Five Species, seizing the moment when the Rock Demon was heavily injured, launched another attack, shooting sharp earth spikes and continuous explosions of explosive mushrooms.

Amidst the furious roars of the Rock Demon, it was completely overwhelmed.

[Successfully killed a Tier Five Rock Demon, gained 50 points of Magic Energy.]

Hearing the prompt in his ear, Lin You heaved a sigh of relief.

At the same time, he felt a bit fortunate.

Fortunately, the Rock Demon wasn’t fast. Otherwise, with that destructive power just now, he might have lost quite a few Tier Four Species.

As soon as the Rock Demon was dead, he immediately had the injured plants activate their devouring skills to consume the Rock Demon’s corpse, using it to recover injuries and continue forward.

As he proceeded, the demons he encountered grew more numerous, and almost all were above Tier Four, with occasional encounters with Tier Five demons.

No wonder no one dared to come here.

Luckily, he had two Tier Five plants escorting him, and he himself was also of Tier Five strength. As long as he didn’t encounter more than two Tier Five demons, there wouldn’t be much problem.

Very soon.

Lin You left the forest’s edge far behind, entering a mountainous region.

“Is this… ore?”

Lin You casually picked up a piece of black stone beneath his foot, his eyes moving slightly.

Simultaneously, information appeared before him.

[Name: Iron Ore]

[Introduction: One of the materials for territory construction, usable in various types of buildings.]

As expected, this black stone was indeed one of the materials needed for a territory upgrade to Tier Six, Iron Ore!

Lin You was pleasantly surprised, never expecting to find Iron Ore in such a place.

And judging by the surroundings, it was likely a whole mountain range containing vast ore vein resources!

“Great, now the upgrade materials are finally secured!”

As they say, the water by the door catches the moonlight first.

Lin You’s territory being so close here was an excellent opportunity for him to quickly accumulate enough Iron Ore.

Getting to work immediately.

Lin You directly halted his exploration and led the plants to mine iron ore in the hills.

Up to this point.

Lin You couldn’t help but admire the [Personal Storage Space] unlocked after reaching Tier Five; the function was indeed very powerful.

It’s like a portable independent space, capable of storing many things, including various resource ores.

His current personal storage space could store up to a hundred units of items, excluding some essentials for outings, fitting seventy or eighty units of iron ore was no problem at all.

In sum, he only needed to run back and forth ten times to gather the iron ore required for the territory upgrade.

Much faster than moving bit by bit.

The plants were also very diligent. First, the Tree Spirit Warriors shattered the ores, then the Highly Poisonous Demoness used vines to transport the ores to Lin You’s side.

In less than an hour, Lin You’s personal space was filled.

Then he led the plants back to the territory, stored all the ores in the newly constructed [Territory Warehouse], and set off to mine again.

Lin You estimated it took about two hours including mining time per round trip, with the chance to meet demons occasionally to earn some Magic Energy, which was acceptable.

Thus, for an entire day.

He spent it traversing back and forth between the territory and the mines.

Until late in the afternoon, he returned to the territory with the fourth batch of ores, temporarily halting his transport.

Planning to head out again first thing tomorrow morning.

Upon returning to the territory.

The first thing Lin You did was check the stone collection status.

Seeing that the amount of stone had exceeded five hundred, he was overjoyed, immediately spending a thousand points of Magic Energy to upgrade the Tower of Species to Tier Five.

In an instant.

A burst of light flashed.

The Tower of Species suddenly rose several degrees taller, becoming much more grandiose.

Lin You hurriedly opened the information to check and found he could indeed research Tier Five Species. He immediately chose to research, with the first choice being Grass and Wood Spirits, of course.

[Researching Tier Five Rare Species requires 1000 points of Magic Energy, do you wish to continue?]

“Continue!”

The research cost for Rare Species is double that of ordinary species.

Luckily, these past few days, the Bathing Fire Lotus had provided him with a lot of Magic Energy. Adding today’s earnings and the remaining previous ones, nearly two thousand five hundred points, was entirely enough for him to upgrade buildings and research species.

Having arranged the research task, he closed the interface and prepared to eat.

After all, having been busy all day, he ought to reward himself well.

…

An uneventful night passed.

As the morning sunlight shone through the gaps in the leaves into the wooden cabin, Lin You awoke.

Turning over, he got out of bed and used accumulated dew for a simple wash before heading down to the territory along the stairs.

Today is the third day since the [Regional Ranking] was activated.

Which means, after today, the ranking rewards will be distributed.

First place: Five thousand points of Magic Energy, Territory Essence x3

Second place: Five thousand points of Magic Energy, Territory Essence x2

Third place: Five thousand points of Magic Energy, Territory Essence x1

Fourth place: Four thousand points of Magic Energy

…

The top three can receive Territory Essence rewards, corresponding to the territory level.

Fourth to tenth places get four thousand points of Magic Energy.

Eleventh to one hundredth places, three thousand points of Magic Energy.

And so on, rewarding up to ten thousand places.

Lin You wasn’t going to settle for just a meager four thousand points of Magic Energy reward. No matter what, he had to make it to the top three to get the Territory Essence!
