Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 36: Chapter 35: Cooperation, Competing for the Treasure Chests

In the blink of an eye.

A night passed.

Lin You had been thinking about the wall, so he woke up as soon as it got light.

He didn’t plan to go mining in the Wasteland Wilderness today, but instead took all his species to collect stone inside the mountains behind his territory, intending to use it to heighten and thicken the walls to enhance the territory’s security.

With the quarry upgraded to Tier Four, the collection efficiency had also improved significantly.

[Building Name: Quarry]

[Building Level: Tier Four]

[Building Introduction: Increases the efficiency of collecting stone in the territory.]

[Collection Efficiency: 140%]

[Construction Requirements: 500 wood, 500 stone, 1000 magic energy]

After the building reached Tier Four, the materials required for the upgrade increased significantly, so Tier Four buildings were the most cost-effective for Lin You.

As for whether to upgrade to Tier Five in the future, that was a concern for another time, not something he needed to worry about now.

So the entire morning was spent.

He spent it within the territory and the mines.

The plants that were upgraded to Tier Five were very effective, their power several times that of ordinary people, making carrying stone a breeze for them. It was as if they were playing, and they never hesitated in their work.

Thanks to their help.

By noon, they had already accumulated 500 units of stone.

Combined with 500 units of wood, Lin You used the production workshop to double the height and thickness of the walls, instantly giving the territory a new look all around.

“Alright, everybody take a break.”

Lin You shouted to the plants that were moving stone, calling them back inside the territory.

Then he set up a furnace inside the territory to start roasting meat for lunch, while opening the regional channel to keep an eye on the developments in the area.

“Have you heard? Someone discovered a large vein of iron ore in the wasteland over by the forest.”

“Iron ore? Seriously? Isn’t that material for upgrading to Tier Six?”

“I’ve heard about it too. It seems a lot of Tier Five big shots have rushed over.”

“Hiss! Tier Five? Isn’t that dangerous?”

“Dangerous doesn’t even cut it, it’s terrifying, okay? I went to take a look today, and it’s full of Tier Five beings, already fighting outside the mine.”

“Damn, good thing I didn’t go. Going there below Tier Five is practically suicidal.”

Lin You was quite surprised.

He didn’t expect that someone would discover the vein near the forest so quickly and attract so many Tier Five Lords there.

It looked like the mining area was now in utter chaos, everyone desperately vying for the vein resources.

Fortunately, he had the foresight to stockpile a lot of iron ore, so he didn’t need to fight these people for it, and even if he did, he might not get much and could end up in a pincer attack.

“Look at the sky!”

Suddenly, someone in the regional channel exclaimed.

Lin You, who had been checking chat messages, was startled and instinctively looked up at the sky.

In the next second, his pupils suddenly contracted.

In the endless celestial vault, streaks of light appeared, trailing long tails as they descended toward the Primordial Continent.

This familiar scene was exactly the same as when the treasure chests were first airdropped!

“Holy crap! Treasure chests! There are treasure chests falling from the sky again!”

“I saw it too! So many treasure chests!”

“What’s going on? Why are treasure chests dropping again?”

“Could it be like last time, with treasure inside?”

“I heard last time it was resource treasure pearls and species tokens.”

“Species tokens? Awesome! Last time I thought it was a meteorite and didn’t go, but this time I’m definitely grabbing the stuff in those chests!”

“Quick, see where they’re landing!”

The Lords exclaimed repeatedly, and Lin You was also shocked.

After many days, treasure chests were once again dropping from the sky, what could this signify, no one knew.

But they did know one thing.

That there was something inside the chests that they wanted.

And just for that, it was enough!

“It seems like there’s no choice but to go.”

Lin You muttered to himself.

Recalling the last airdrop treasure chest, wasn’t his rare species obtained from there?

With that rare species, he had been able to move forward unhindered and get ahead of so many people.

The contents of these chests, he must obtain it!

Determined, he quickly finished eating and got up to prepare.

As time passed, people gradually speculated on the drop locations of each chest.

One of them was actually at the position of the Wasteland Wilderness mine, which was the closest to Lin You.

“Damn! Why did it have to drop there?”

“Near the mine? That’s too coincidental!”

“It surely is, and right at this exact time.”

“It’s all over now, there are so many Tier Five big shots over by the mine, going there is just asking to die.”

“Anyone want to team up to steal a chest? We can split the loot!”

“I’d rather check out the other chest locations…”

Truth be told, the chest drop locations this time were almost too coincidental, falling right on the most fiercely competitive and dangerous mining area, making one suspect that it might have been pre-arranged.

But regardless, the allure of the chests was very real.

Even knowing they would face danger, many nearby Lords were still heading to the mining area, hoping to take a chance.

After all, the items in the chests were simply too enticing.

Just one species token was enough to make countless people drool.

Not to mention the other items, getting something with a bit of luck could greatly enhance one’s strength, increasing their chances of survival in this world.

Lin You was no exception.

Out of so many treasure chests, this was the closest.

After making some preparations within the territory, he left with twenty Tier Five species, leaving five newly recruited Tier Five species to guard alongside Cyan Rattan.

It took over half an hour.

He crossed the forest and arrived at the Wasteland Wilderness.

At this moment, the regional channel of the Wasteland Wilderness was no longer as desolate as a few days ago, with dense messages constantly flashing through.

Even from far away, Lin You could see several Lords who had just emerged from the forest, all hurriedly rushing towards the mine, making him frown.

This time, it might not…

Be as smooth as last time.

The last airdrop of treasure chests, he was able to seize two items because few people were vying for them and there was no experience.

This time, as everyone knew what was in the chests and were prepared, they wouldn’t let someone easily take the items, he needed to come up with a plan.

While contemplating.

His private messages suddenly flashed, a stranger’s message appeared in his sight.

“Interested in a collaboration? Split the loot fifty-fifty.”

Lin You saw the signature, it was actually a message from Yan Wu.

Could he have rushed over too, wanting to get involved?

If that was the case, perhaps the two of them working together might actually manage to grab something from so many people.

After thinking for a moment, Lin You immediately replied with a message.

“Let’s discuss details in the woods near the mine.”
