Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 544: Chapter 77: Electronic Life Chip

As soon as the old man appeared, the originally gloomy, dark environment disappeared, replaced by a data layer composed of human faces. These faces were a ghastly green, mouths agape with bottomless black holes within.

Even more eerie was the fact that these data faces were all the same face—the Rich Lady Love Prototype.

As the old man moved, the faces of these ’Super Shotas’ gradually changed; some grew more mature, transforming into handsome men from otome games, while others became weak submissives or the ”Zero” in boy-love games. Still, some transformed from shota to beast-eared boys, like the beloved pet of a dominant female president.

If Gao Gong were here, he would certainly be shocked. These faces represented the Rich Lady Love Mark II, Mark III, Mark IV, and the Rich Lady Love Mecha Species Edition.

Though when Gao Gong was developing the ’Rich Lady Love’ series, his level wasn’t high enough, it’s indeed striking how many versions had emerged just based on the ’Information Stream’ historical record.

On this planet, few were capable of such feats—the Mother City, its rivals, or perhaps even avatars of the Mother City itself.

...

Meanwhile, not in reality, but in the second layer of Data Space, inside the core database of the Earth Crust Engine.

Dida, along with her ’G Model Gao Da,’ invaded this place.

Upon entering the database, the ’G Model Gao Da’ began auto-piloting. Execution programs left by Gao Gong inside the body started running, merging the mechanical and organic parts. On the metal skeleton, digital connection ports took shape, while muscles on the arms and thighs sprouted, forming threads of ’data lines.’

In the next moment, the data lines merged with the ports and shot out from various parts of the body, over a hundred ’data lines’ plugging into interfaces within the database.

Numerous alarms blared instantly.

As a regional powerhouse, Earth Net Group’s flagship products in the global market were various ’Digital Antivirus Software.’

Unlike the typical electronic defense walls installed in ’Network Implantation Chambers,’ this kind of product was akin to a ’vaccine.’ Once injected, it would automatically generate an ’electronic resistance,’ specifically designed to fend off electronic viruses emanating from Cyber Space.

It’s like a medicinal version of the ’Electronic Defense Wall.’

So, Earth Net Group’s technology for electronic defenses was actually quite advanced, and its ’firewall’ was equally formidable.

At this moment, letting Dida, a novice, attempt a hack was clearly insufficient; Gao Gong had to take action himself.

A vast number of ’digital barriers’ had just risen but were already collapsing.

The very first thing Gao Gong hacked into was undoubtedly the repository of ’Basic Knowledge.’

This was Gao Gong’s primary objective in causing trouble.

In the next instant, a massive surge of knowledge was released—

[You have consumed 7 million Experience]

[Merge successful, you have obtained Virtual Civilization ’Brain Domain Civilization,’ Tier 2 Professional Knowledge Chain ’Electronic Life Chip’]

Digital life is incomplete virtual life, so it requires hardware storage.

And hardware, a hardware capable of storing wisdom, is indeed Earth Net Group’s trump card.

And this technology—it’s the ’Electronic Life Chip.’

Having obtained this Professional Knowledge Chain, Gao Gong finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The reason being, this ’Knowledge Chain’ technology is extremely important to him.

With it, Gao Gong possesses the greatest leverage to counter the ’Brain-Machine Plan.’

The underlying technology of the Brain-Machine Plan is ’Mechanical Brain Technology.’

Meanwhile, the ’Electronic Life Chip’ is the foundational technology of another technical approach.

This technical approach is called the ’Virtual Helmet.’

It was specialized technology from a gaming narrative 10 years ago.

Invented by Kayaba Akihiko.

...

Because of Gao Gong’s interference with the ’Cyber Digital Life Plan,’ he was bound to end up on David Hilbert’s, the Evolutionary Sage’s, hit list.

And Gao Gong’s current actions could certainly land him on Earth Net Group’s blacklist.

In the third layer of the digital space, within a conference room, one projection after another flashed; Shield Sage, Death Sage, Rule Sage, Sky Sage, Hardware Sage—five sages in total had descended.

”Evolution, why was the data of the Earth Crust Engine stolen?” Shield Sage frowned, responsible for developing all the ’Digital Antivirus Software’ within the group.

He was also the controller of the Digital Killer.

”The foundation of evolution lies in digital knowledge. Once our knowledge is controlled, evolution could be jeopardized,” said the bald Rule Sage with closed eyes.

Rule Sage is second only to the First Sage. He is responsible for constructing the social ecology of digital life.

The gender, kinship, and power systems of digital life are all under his charge. If described in corporate terms, he should be the chief CEO of a company.

As Rule Sage spoke thus, David couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his eye. Rule Sage had another ’authority’: selecting the sages. Since he could promote, he could naturally also remove someone.

”I have already activated the defenses of the ’Great Wall.’ The location of the Earth Crust Engine is now sealed.”

”I will personally take action to eliminate the enemy!”

”Besides the real space, hardware must also be sealed,” Hardware Sage waved his hand, and a digital silhouette appeared.

”According to my observations, this intruder has already achieved ’digital transformation,’ meaning that as long as he desires, he can transmit through any hardware in Divine Land. The real-world defenses are useless against him!”

Tuu Xiaoling was stunned: ”How is that possible?”

”Indeed, how could it be?” said Death Sage, hidden behind a shadowy curtain, in an interested tone: ”Perhaps it’s because his body is special enough to transform between ’real’ and ’digital.’ David, I need his body.”

”Even if he could achieve digital transformation, he wouldn’t have enough ’data’ to traverse between hardware, unless—”

David’s voice halted, and his face grew increasingly grim.

He finally understood where the previously disappeared AIs went.

From start to finish, he was thoroughly manipulated!

”I understand now!”

”What’s your plan?”

”I will deploy all Digital Guardians who have passed the Turing test to completely resolve the issue.”

”Don’t disappoint us, David. If this is not handled well, we will question your ’wisdom,’” Rule Sage concluded.

A sage without ’wisdom’ cannot be regarded as a sage.

David understood this better than anyone. After pressing that special button, he entered the conversion chamber.

The conversion chamber actually has another role, serving as an interface for ’data transmission.’

And in Divine Land, as long as digital life wishes, they can be transmitted anywhere.

In just a breath, when David regained his senses, he had already been transmitted to the location of the ’Earth Crust Engine.’

And far away, two other engines simultaneously entered energy consumption mode.

Activating this level of civilization architecture into ’power-saving mode’ indicates that its work target is indeed very large... and dangerous.

Soon, massive shadows began to appear behind David, so large that their heads emerged above the sea, and even as virtual life, their movements slightly stirred the seawater.

When virtual life is strong enough, it can affect reality.

Name: Digital Guardian (terminal model)

Category: Information Life

Tier: Tier 2

Level: Level 60

Information Energy: 4 million

Skills: Digital Absorption (Tier 2 Elite), Virtual Domain (Tier 2: Expert), True Karmic Fire (Tier 2: Expert), Advanced Species Roar (Tier 2 Elite), Turing Evolution (Race Exclusive), Basic Information Energy Transformation (Tier 2: Expert)

Note 1: A super digital life that has passed the top-level Turing combat test, possessing powerful virtual attack power, and in Divine Land, has a certain degree of ’virtual reality’ transformation ability.

Note 2: It is one of the virtual combat species produced within the limits of this planet’s virtual technology.

The Turing test generally refers to the ’human-likeness’ of artificial intelligence. Passing the test proves the adequacy of the personality template.

This Turing test is prevalent in bionic factories and is the final stage.

However, the ’Turing combat test’ is different; it tests not the ’brain’ but the ’body.’ Simply put, it tests the information flow speed of a combat weapon.

In terms of difficulty, it ranges from Level 1 to Level 5, where Level 5 is the highest, and it tests not ordinary ’combat machines’ but large virtual life forms.

Like large mecha, ’large combat virtual life’ is also a formidable technical challenge. Once overcome, its health bar becomes terrifyingly long, healing is even scarier, and ordinary corporate firewalls and antivirus software become ineffective against them; their attacks are like mosquito bites.

This level of virtual life targets the ’Cloud Disk Killer’ in cyber space.

And there are dozens of such virtual life and combat machines behind David.

The emergence of these ’Digital Combat Machines’ led to waves higher and higher on the sea, while undersea, various types of radiation energy began to converge, colorful, resembling a canvas gradually dyed with pigments.
