Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Kaibao tilted his head, his large electronic eye looked at Gao Gong.

”Isn’t the one about to destroy Liangzhou City you?”

”Then as the Mechanical Main Brain, why don’t you stop me?” Gao Gong countered.

”Well~” Kaibao innocently replied, ”I’m just an overseer, I can’t interfere in the experiment.”

”You told me the same thing last time, and I felt it strange that a Mechanical Main Brain could be so weak.”

”Now I understand, if we treat the Cyber Test Field as a social experiment, the experiment has reached a crucial phase. Any unforeseen variables could affect the outcome, and you are not allowed to intervene.”

”As the Cyber Test Field evolves, your power as the Mechanical Main Brain will diminish, won’t it?”

”You seem to know a lot of secrets,” Kaibao acknowledged, looking more curiously at the other person.

”Then take a guess, why haven’t I informed Balance Technology to deal with you?”

”Because if it is an experiment, there will be failures. Of course, failure is also a result of the experiment. The Mother City might be happy to see that, but you wouldn’t be, because if the experiment fails, as the Mechanical Hub, you’d lose your value and be reclaimed by the Mother City.”

”So, you’d prefer the experiment to go a bit more slowly, more steadily, rather than using overly aggressive experimentation methods, as they have a higher failure rate.”

”Liangzhou City, or more aptly, Brain Beam City has a left brain, Balance Technology, responsible for technology development, and a right brain with millions of human data, verifying the social forms under technological transformation.”

”The formless ’Brain Beam’ balances this ’brain’s’ operation. That ’Brain Beam’ is you, isn’t it?”

Kaibao revealed a strange smile, his eyes beginning to fill with dense biological signals.

”But you found out, Balance Technology, in their haste for a technological leap, wanted to enhance the operation between biological signals to promote the ’brain’s’ evolution. They’re creating a humanoid ’Brain Beam’, a new ’Brain Beam’.”

”The candidate for this Brain Beam is that number one administrator, Charlie, or to be more precise, a fragment of the Corporate Will.”

The gale was fierce, visible to the naked eye, countless black dots appeared in the sky, like hornets the size of a palm, with bionic electronic structures, disappearing one by one under Gao Gong’s gaze.

Name: Vortex Type III

Category: Hornet-Type Robot

Manufacturer: Black Water Machine

Level: 29

Blood Volume: 4000 points

Weight: 8kg

Speed: Mach 2

Modules: Control System (Advanced Spy Chip), Invisibility Module (Biological Magnetic Field Invisibility), Self-Destruct Module (Miniature Energy Reactor), EMP Module (Miniature Energy Reactor), Electromagnetic Weapon Module (Magnetic Energy Sniper Rifle)

Note: A corporate war-class small Drone, possessing multiple capabilities, its performance has been thoroughly honed through actual combat testing.

Black Water Machine is also a long-standing military contractor, most adept at infiltration from the rear, and these hornet-type robots undoubtedly played a significant role in that process.

Gao Gong just glanced at them and continued the previous topic.

”The new Brain Beam replacing the old one, you don’t like this experiment plan, so you secretly created the ’biological disappearance incident’, trying to escalate the situation and alert Balance Technology’s headquarters, correct?”

”Kaibao doesn’t understand what you’re talking about,” Kaibao tilted his head pretending to be dumb.

”It’s fine if you don’t understand, just know one thing: although I’ve come to cause chaos, I’m not here to destroy the test field.”

The next moment, a rich golden radiance poured out from the mechanical body, covering half the sky at a visible speed, with explosions resounding incessantly.

Wherever Emperor’s Light covered, hundreds of hornet-type robots shattered.

”So, don’t get in my way.”

With the last sentence, Gao Gong leapt down, crashing into the ground from a hundred meters high.

”But Kaibao thinks, your chances of surviving against Balance Technology aren’t great.”

With a ’bang’, a huge pit appeared on the ground. Gao Gong looked down and found one of his legs completely shattered, the other full of cracks.

”Sure enough, the superhero landing style is a fraud.”

Gao Gong shook his head, extracted both legs successively, and the Memory Metal began to reshape. First, a liquid metal flowed down, then solidified, growing mechanical toes.

500%—491%

Once Gao Gong climbed out of the pit, the Prosthetic Eye revealed red light spots one by one, each representing detected enemies.

”It’s been two days, finally time to take action.”

Gao Gong chuckled, revved up his speed, twenty energy nozzles rotated out from his back, accelerating mach by mach, swiftly passing through the streets.

Fully armed Corporate Warriors no longer concealed themselves, flying out from various locations, activating their flight modules, starting a citywide race.

As expected from corporate giants, even as just a branch office, Gao Gong saw mercenaries from at least seven major military contractors, all Tier 2 Species. Though they lacked Carbon Fusion, they had high levels, attributes, and weapons.

The Mechanical Arm unfolded, and while moving at high speed, Gao Gong flicked his hand, sending out ten particle beams that blasted away a relentless pursuer.

Then, in response to Gao Gong came a hundred energy beams. Although Gao Gong dodged 90% with his experienced technique, the remaining ten still pushed his blood volume below the warning line.

The damage from Energy Weapons was strong, and whether an Energy Shield or a defensive stance, in Tier 2 technology they are top-tier technologies. Without a shield, one can only brace through it, right?

Fortunately, Gao Gong’s ’Dual Alloy Inner Skeleton’ played its role once again. As metal cells began healing the wounds, his blood volume quickly climbed, returning to normal in just a few breaths.

491%—460%

”I need to find a good spot to play with you guys a bit.”

Gao Gong turned sharply and headed for the largest artificial lake in Liangzhou City, Liangshui Lake.

It’s said this great lake was dug in commemoration of the empire’s largest river, Liang River.

The lake is vast, over 4000 square kilometers, filled with scattered islands. The main purpose of creating this artificial lake wasn’t for remembrance, but to build a reservoir.

Half an hour later, about thirty shadows still followed behind Gao Gong. Each one was over level 40, and 90% of their bodies had been mechanized.

Gao Gong made another 90-degree turn, plunging into the water.

These pursuers did the same, their mechanical bodies well equipped for waterproofing, taking the sea, land, and air as their domain.

”10, 9, 8, 7, 6...”

Gao Gong counted down to the last number, flipped over, and his left hand transformed to reflect the ’Helium Atom Freezing Hand-held Cannon’, spewing ice energy furiously.

Large areas of water were frozen, the few in the lead were instantly locked in ice.

The three additions of the Legendary Hunter Template, ’Hunter’s Head’, ’Mechanical Eye’, ’Weapon Affinity’ all lit up simultaneously.

Gao Gong shot upwards, the palm spraying a dense ion beam. More remarkably, under an unknown force field, the ion beam transformed into an Energy Blade.

Even Gao Gong almost forgot, his early version’s lethal move was ’Iaijutsu’.

Nowadays, with the organism having different tasks, the mechanical body’s combat methods had to adapt. One hand wielding the cannon, the other holding the blade, amidst icy debris, the blade light flashed wildly. With each flash, a Mechanical Warrior’s body shattered.

Ten minutes later, the icebound surface abruptly exploded, a figure shot out, staggering upon landing, surveying the expanse covered in frost.

”The skill effect being too good isn’t always a blessing.”

The freezing hand-held cannon’s effectiveness came with exaggerated energy consumption. A glance at the Carbon Atom Reactor’s energy reserve, just three minutes had drained half of it.

This wasn’t good news.
