Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 536: Chapter 69: High-tier Information Mist

From an outsider’s perspective, Database 0 is a very secretive and dangerous place.

But for the real viruses, this sub-database feels as familiar as home.

A large amount of ’white paper’ spreads across the desert surface, various viruses start to rampage, ’remote trojans’ begin manipulating the ’data collection’, burrowing into the underdeveloped Cyber Killers, ’malware’ starts absorbing ’sand particles’, large swathes of dunes are cleared, ’system vulnerabilities’ cause the sand layers to collapse, several ’astronauts’ inadvertently step into voids, directly sucked in with their data markers disappearing in mere seconds.

”What are you doing??” an ’astronaut’ shouted angrily.

Gao Gong did not speak, his expression was rarely more serious, he did not open his mouth, but instead lifted his chin.

Looking in the direction he indicated, it was an indescribable scene, thousands of skinless arms with pink gums, pale teeth clattering, and one icy eyeball scanning around, each pupil held doors that were half-open, with countless ’viruses’ wandering on the doors’ surface.

[Affected by ’Database 0’, your Intelligence decreases by 1 point/second]

[Affected by ’Database 0’, your Perception decreases by 2 points/second]

[Once your Perception and Intelligence decrease to a certain level, you will automatically enter Database 0]

When you open the gates of hell, you should be aware that what’s beyond is not holiness.

For some reason, this phrase suddenly popped into Dida’s mind, and the ’astronaut’, after a moment of daze, had no time to figure out how this ’Mr. G’ accomplished this, instead immediately delved into hardware operations.

Soon, countless holographic projection doors opened, with massive data streams flowing out from behind the doors, humanoid figures materialized one after another.

It’s AI!

The AI captured from each subconscious realm, data node, and information highway were all being used here!

Dida had never seen so many AIs!

The dense streams of data rushed towards the ’Gate 0’, and those numerous virus mouths showed no courtesy in devouring, their logical structures collapsing, character templates dissipating, and emotional data absorbed.

”Data Devouring?”

”To be precise, it’s the ’Digital Life Alienation Transformation’ plan, proposed by the Evolutionary Sage, approved at the 13 Wise Men meeting, a transformation scheme to evolve digital life into Cyber Digital Life.”

”In this plan, we referred to all pre-Civilization Era and current Mechanical Era breeding methods, by modifying the AI’s source code, embedding special digital life signals, then incubating them with viruses, should it succeed, one would obtain a unique Cyber Digital Life.”

”What if it fails?” Dida unexpectedly asked.

”Evolutionary iteration is built on countless failures, behind every species lies numerous evolutionary failures, we have ample patience,” said a cold voice from the headset.

A large number of AIs were thrown into ’Database 0’, absorbed by the viruses, some viruses grew into flesh-bearing flowers with bulging bellies, turning into ’pregnant women’, only with that eerie smile, and the garbled code flashing in their pupils, making her appear extraordinarily terrifying.

And the mass deployment of ’intelligent data’ made the impatient viruses choose not to leave immediately, after all, having someone feed you for free saves you the trouble of hunting for prey, where else would you find such a good deal.

Gao Gong kept staring at the door of ’Database 0’, as the door turned from blurry to clear, the viruses on it peeled off voluntarily, revealing the burning ’Colorless Flame’.

Even from a great distance, he could feel the danger emanating from this flame.

That was the ’Planet Main Brain’ level firewall.

Name: Colorless Fire

Level: 93

Attributes: ??

Affiliated Faction: Fortress

Note: A highly dangerous advanced information weapon, ??, ??

Planet Main Brain level, meaning Tier 3 firewall, is capable of blocking general planetary and information disasters, such as helium flashes from stellar expansion, high-density rays within the nebula, and even space ripples caused by the movement of some high-dimensional life forms.

So theoretically, using such a firewall as the final defense should be more than adequate.

However, whether it was Gao Gong using the power of a certain ’Virus Maiden’ to locate the ’database’ or these experts from Earth Net Group opening a crack in the door, this final defense appeared deadlocked, somewhat unexpectedly for Gao Gong.

’Strange, why is there no reaction at all, this isn’t scientific—’

Not to mention, even if Gao Gong were to attempt it himself, he wouldn’t dare claim to perform this well for certain.

’Then let’s see how you operate.’

With a flash of thought, ’Proof of the Virtual’, ’Top-level Programming’, ’Human Brain Monster’, ’Punk Spirit’, ’Special Transformer’, among other professional traits lit up one by one.

These professional knowledges in themselves do not increase apparent attributes, but they offer an implicit empowerment.

With the activation of the skill ’Information War Pioneers’, the world in Gao Gong’s eyes completely changed its appearance.

Information War Pioneers—The reform of warfare form is inevitable, but regardless of how it reforms, what changes is always the information acquisition method, and you, will thoroughly transform the battlefield form through information.

The endless desert vanished, replaced by the incessant clamor of war, visual signals and auditory signals had completed transformation, what you saw and heard were flesh and blood, swords and spears, thundering cannons amidst holographic illusions.

The virus is formless and shapeless, only through transforming the ’war form’ can you attack them from the same dimension, and this, is the meaning of ’Secret War’.

Professional Specialization, ’Secret War’, Soldier Type Compatibility +10%, Transformation Success Rate +15%, Firepower Enhancement +30%, as the shadow of war, your existence will increase the probability of victory in a war

As Gao Gong reached forward, the cannon roars grew more intense, like piercing eardrums, hammering into his head, around him roared voices, reminiscent of ancient soldiers’ horse neighs and bow strings, or like volley gun soldiers’ exploding guns and smoke, even drawing so further close, Gao Gong could even hear energy pillars from starships blasting in the cosmos, silently yet capable of annihilating everything in sight.

And all these were war mist, past, present, future war illusions, the shell of war, only by peeling off the shell can the freshest flesh and blood be seen.

Finally, Gao Gong saw it.

He saw a colossal Skull Mountain, the mountainside made up of burning, multi-hued flaming skulls, and on its surface, a dreamlike gauze firmly entrapped the flame, not allowing even a sliver of heat to escape.

”High-tier Information Mist?”

Veteran Gao Gong recognized this thing at first sight, simultaneously touching his teeth, confirming 100% the source of this entity.

’Memory Mother!’
