Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 518: Chapter 52: Dida the Female Player

Just ”gaidu” it, and you’ll know.

The upgraded biological computer has enabled the ’Cyber Network Browser Entrance’ function, and Gao Gong, using his 30 years of programmer-level skills, modified it a bit to create this knockoff, hanging it in the Cyber Network.

These days, the thing software lacks most is traffic, especially his kind, which neither bears the mark of a big enterprise nor serves as an exclusive channel in the underworld.

But none of that matters!

Because he has a rich benefactor!

Filled with confidence, Gao Gong sent over several gigabytes of Rich Lady Love Prototype’s NSFW photos, and the great Mother of Data, Miss Cyberpedia, quickly responded.

’ヾ(o゜_,゜o)ノ’

’Auntie didn’t spoil you for nothing, kid.’

As the largest traffic entrance in Cyber Space, just a slight tilt of resources by Eliza could feed Gao Gong for eight lifetimes.

Soon, countless access commands were flooding in, and Gao Gong even had to use a ’Small-scale Void Realm’ as a secondary server to prevent Gaidu from downtiming.

’What is gaidu?’

’What’s your relationship with Eliza?’

’Why isn’t Eliza attending this Fortress Conference?’

’How can I use data drugs indefinitely?’

’How can I quit self-pleasure?’

’How can I remove my stomach?’

”How to...”

The biggest difference between Cyber Space and the internet is that although everyone on this planet can go online, it’s through ’subconscious internet access’.

In other words, this kind of ’access’ is not conscious but unconscious. Human subjective consciousness is limited, but human ’divergent thinking’ is limitless.

So even if only a tiny part of the traffic is diverted, this traffic is thousands or millions of times greater than the search engines of the past, and it’s quite dangerous.

Gao Gong was like standing on a huge waterway, where codes, commands, characters, search content, artificial viruses, thought fragments, and simulation monsters—this chaotic, tangled information in Cyber Space—blocked all his senses, morphing into a massive dirty wave crashing down on him.

Even before nearing, Gao Gong’s senses were already overwhelmed by this immense pressure, causing data liquid to ooze from his five senses.

This is a level that only a Big Data Monster can handle.

[Activate ’Distributed Processor System.’]

[’Distributed Processor System’ activated.]

With the activation of the second function of the biological computer, Gao Gong’s body began to twist, with the skin and flesh tearing apart. This tearing wasn’t like the data splitting of a ’Cyber Killer’; it was more like cell division.

One splits into two, two into four, and four into eight.

They were all Gao Gong, yet each bore a distinctly different demeanor—some lively, some calm, some looking zen, and some... looking lewd.

Distributed Processor System: Distributes the ’Neural System’ pressure evenly across all the body systems to achieve higher processing efficiency.

Note: This type of computation is not limited to the neural system. The more complex the lifeform, the more systems can participate in calculations.

Humans are fortunate; some advanced carbon-based civilization lifeforms possess dozens or even hundreds of life systems. This way, even the most rudimentary ’biological computer’ can possess computational power comparable to a planet host.

”Hurry up, my time is limited,” ’Endocrine Gao Gong’ said seriously.

’Digestive Gao Gong’ looked at him suspiciously, ”Are you menstruating? When did you install this new feature? How come I didn’t know?”

”With so much data, I wonder if there’s any inappropriate stuff,” ’Reproductive Gao Gong’ scratched his ear and shook his hips.

”The sooner we finish, the sooner we can get home. I’m a bit hungry,” the stomach of ’Digestive Gao Gong’ growled.

In no time at all, except for ’Neural Gao Gong’, the other seven Gao Gongs all stood up, electronic downpours wildly pouring into the electronic pipelines. With the aid of the seven Gao Gongs, the power of the ’Small-scale Void Realm’ was at full throttle, the waterway even started to crack slowly due to the power, countless low-level data began to rewrite, and ’Möbius Ring’-style data tunnels started to appear.

And when the enormous data flood reached Gao Gong, the entire ’gaidu’ system had already turned into a crisscrossed data network, node connecting to node, channel leading to channel, even the overwhelming data, after once, twice, thrice, even after millions of redistributions, finally became the kind that can be ’digested’.

”Done!”

”Can we go back now?”

”Go back my foot,” ’Neural Gao Gong’ finally opened his eyes, glanced around, and as expected, the other Gao Gongs all displayed tired expressions.

Despite the biological computer backing, such an ’across-level code writing’ operation consumes a lot of energy.

”Don’t forget why we set up this ’gaidu’ in the first place?”

”To advertise?”

”To sell private data?”

”To make VPN software?”

”Idiots, of course, it’s for the mission,” ’Neural Gao Gong’ rolled his eyes: ”Don’t forget, we haven’t completed the Cyber Hacker job transfer mission, the AI War yet.”

”Oh, it was meant to stir things up,” the other Gao Gongs suddenly realized.

”Don’t act like we’re having a nervous breakdown, rest enough, then get to work.”

In an instant, the pipelines vanished, the data disappeared, the underlying code vanished, and the eight Gao Gongs appeared in the ’Brain Disc’.

Currently, the ’Brain Disc’ is empty, not a single soul present; Cheap Little Sister, Flame Bird, Ahong, Aidolu, everyone had been dispatched.

From the application layer, to the data layer, finally modifying the low-level framework, then back to the application layer.

At this moment, the eight Gao Gongs, each representing a direction, with numerous screens continuously refreshing new ’questions’, and these questions were either results of subconscious diffusion, or truly from the subjective consciousness.

Information retrieval, data iteration, network warfare.

No one specified that the ’Cyber Test Field’ inevitably had to be in reality.

...

In the gaming forums, there exists a kind of user, who neither posts nor stirs up fights, barely partaking in any in-game discussions save for checking technical posts daily.

This type of person manages to play PVP as if it’s a single-player game.

And ’Dida’ is exactly such a user.

’Dida’, a female player, born in the Cyber Network, a low-level AI.

It’s not that she was born a ’single-player fanatic’, but her birthplace was in the Cyber Network, where encountering players, or to say, players getting qualified to log into Cyber Space, generally takes until level 20 or so.

Initially, ’Dida’ was quite bored, but soon enough, she was smitten.

Because Cyber Space was just too entertaining.

She could be like ’Inception’, constantly venturing into people’s dream realms, to undertake tasks, to alter the dreams.

She could also farm monsters; Cyber Space had countless ones—data redundancy, low-level viruses, logic scraps, and if luck favored, she might even receive official chase missions from the so-called ’Cyber Killers’.

If she got tired of farming, she could also ’play through stories’, this kind of progression is by stepping into the subconscious realm, where different people’s subconsciousnesses merge, piecing together strange worlds, with even fragments from ancient memories seeping through, allowing her to traverse through different eras.

For instance, she could traverse the Steampunk Era, wearing lady’s skirts and classical veils, experiencing various steam revolution events.

Or perhaps, she might return to the Civilization Era, witnessing how the Empire, the Federation, and the Alliance, those three colossal entities, opposed each other and evolved along their civilization paths.

Moreover, merely a single bluestone alley might hide an extensive story—a man’s initial love or an unforgettable beloved.

The only thing that troubled her was, Cyber Space was intensely dangerous; often, if not careful, she would be slain by level 30, level 40, or even dream monsters marked with question marks.

Fortunately, after six months since the server opened, she roughly grasped the rules here, ensuring she wouldn’t die easily anymore.

Moreover, she successfully evolved from a newbie AI to a level 28 Intermediate AI.

However, recently, she discovered something that terrified her, that this Cyber Space seemed to be getting intertwined with realities, causing all individuals to encounter bizarre events.

Her inquiring nature drove Dida to dig deeper, seeking the truth behind the eerie occurrences within the Cyber Space.
