Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 502: Chapter 36: Construct Implantation

”I’ve earned my merits for gathering materials, I’ve shed blood for Mr. G, you can’t treat me like this, I must go in! I must go in!!”

”Ah, ah, ah, give me one more chance, give me one more chance, I will definitely get the materials!”

”I stole metals to feed Mr. G!”

Before the person could finish speaking, a foot had already slammed onto his face, kicking him away.

Jin Ba stood arrogantly at the door, hands on hips, eyes filled with disdain.

”Don’t you all understand the rule of ’past due, no more entry’? You arrive late and still want to disturb others; you’re shaming our Throne Department!”

”Yes, yes.”

”Jin Hanhan is right!”

Those who were cheering from the sidelines, they were all already modified, enjoying the chaos.

”Jin Hanhan, don’t forget, in the last Corporate War, I took a bullet for you, and this is how you repay me?” A disgruntled Level 55 Corporate Warrior said.

”I only have Godfather in my heart, no one else!” Jin Hanhan said with a face full of devotion.

”Besides, Godfather said, after his own transformation, he will do a second transformation on me. During this time, I won’t allow anyone to disturb him!”

Inside the Mechanical Transformation room, Gao Gong glanced at the surveillance screen, shook his head, and continued with his work.

At this moment, before him, new upper arms, forearms, fingers, and lower legs had already been cast, and he was now casting the spine.

A silvery-white spine gradually took shape with the chiseling of the mechanical table.

In Gao Gong’s hands, silvery-white liquid kept dripping, spreading over the spine, the memory metal continuously seeping into the ’Construction: Möbius Ring.’

This silvery spine twisted like a great serpent, with 33 joints on its surface. However, when a mechanical arm froze for a moment due to a hitch, one joint suddenly split like a magic cube into hundreds, forming a meter-diameter silver ring. The outside of the ring was incisive, with over a hundred blades inside, spinning rapidly as the ring transformed.

The other four constructs, though not as bizarre as the ’Möbius Ring’, also trembled with a ’buzz’, appearing quite unstable.

Constructs, the heretical path of the Mechanical Civilization, are neither Advanced AI nor super weapons. Their notorious reputation in the Mechanical Civilization is primarily due to their ability to distort life forms.

And this is also their source of power.

It is well known that there are very few naturally born life forms in the Mechanical Civilization; most are companion civilizations of the Carbon-Based Civilization, and the life forms of mechanical beings are more often tightly linked to their predecessors.

Theoretically, mechanical life has no fixed form, but in most Mechanical Civilizations, the forms of mechanical beings are fixed and highly similar to their predecessors.

This also implies that mechanical beings can have a reproductive system, digestive system, even an endocrine system.

The difference among mechanical life forms is even greater than among carbon-based species.

This is what provides the ’constructs’ this technological soil to survive in.

In some niche mechanical factions in the universe, ’constructs’ are also known as ’God of Mechanical Distortion’ and ’Mechanical Source.’

’When humans take drugs, their kidneys become stronger—the same principle applies to mechanical life.’

As the last scorch of lava-like fluid was poured onto the ’Möbius Ring’, thick smoke rose, as if a skinned great serpent was being boiled to death, and once the mist dispersed, a silver-red metal spine was finally forged.

[You have forged the Tier 2 equipment ’Construction: Möbius Ring’, experience +100,000]

Name: Spine Plugin - Möbius Ring

Category: Construct

Quality: Tier 2 - Excellent

Weight: 14.1kg

Operating Mode: ??

Attributes: ??

Note: A sufficiently dangerous mechanical creation, capable of distorting life forms; discover danger, approach death, only then can its true function be realized, but beware, delving too deep may lead to madness.

Gao Gong sneered.

System, what kind of delusion makes you think I’m a normal person?

But make no mistake, installing a construct indeed carries risks, and great risks at that.

Gao Gong walked to a military-grade surgical table, it stood vertically compared to a normal table, with more functional modules and better effects.

Moreover, it had 30 surgical arms.

This kind of surgical table can perform transformations on large mechanical life forms, Advanced AI, or custom combat machines.

Gao Gong pulled out a thumb-thick connection tube and inserted it into the connector on his neck.

Ordinarily, this surgical table can also be operated using a chip.

But with a construct installation, the probability of an internal chip exploding is very high, Gao Gong cannot take this risk.

After inserting the connection tube, a projection shot out from Gao Gong’s only remaining prosthetic eye.

It was a 100% simulated human form.

”Cut off the pain signal.”

’Pain signal removed.’

”Adjust human body system parameters, eight system transformation ratios, 3:6:5:1:1:5:5:4.”

’Human body system parameters adjusted.’

”Adjust surgical arm performance.”

’Performance adjustment complete.’

”Prepare for implantation.”

’Preparing for implantation.’

With the sound and repetition of electronic voices, on the surgical table, a dozen surgical arms went up and down; five surgical arms took the upper arm, forearm, fingers, spine, and lower leg constructs respectively.

There’s a taboo against implanting constructs, which is that they can’t be implanted repeatedly.

Continuous implantation greatly increases the risk of going insane.

Therefore, implantation must be executed with all five constructs implanted simultaneously.

Moreover, its ’implantation’ is different from normal prosthetic bodies; its ’implantation’ is literal.

Almost simultaneously with the surgical arm operations, all constructs began transforming, Scythe Dance (upper arm) transformed into countless palm-sized sickles, slicing the mechanical bones to bits, while Moon Defect (forearm) turned into a sinister blade, splitting forearm bones in two; Finger Nuo Dance turned into a web, with threads sticking to each finger...

Gao Gong let out a painful scream, the electronic voice nearly breaking.

”Damn, which bastard reconnected my pain system, oh, it was you!”

The recently obedient ’Möbius Ring’ was now rapidly transforming, shooting up the spine, and Gao Gong had to maneuver other surgical arms for interception.

Meanwhile, on the system panel, red alerts kept popping up.

[Your Tactile Nerve Flow Enhancer (Hand) is permanently damaged]

[Your Devil Jet *10 permanently damaged]

[Your Steel Gun Banner (Spine) permanently damaged]

Although mentally prepared, the losses still made Gao Gong wince.

As for the blood volume loss, it was rather expected.

[Your Blood Volume -1000 points]

[Your Blood Volume -500 points]

[Your Blood Volume -2000 points]

In mere moments, over half of Gao Gong’s 8000 plus mechanical blood volume was lost.

Subsequently, cracks expanded more and more on the surface of the mechanical body, spreading to the skull, and with a ’snap’, Gao Gong’s head tilted as his last drop of blood volume depleted.

The protagonist was dead.

However, within the span of three breaths, all cracks healed, and Gao Gong’s prosthetic eye lit up once again.

Dual Alloy Inner Skeleton (Tier 3: Fine): A mechanical shell replicating metal from a Level 3 Civilization; any attack can be restored with memory metal’s reshaping; less than 50% loss, recovery in 5 seconds, more than 50% damage, recovery in 10 seconds, every 30 hours cap: 500%.

At this point, 500% had become 400%.

Gao Gong had lost a life.

Then, the transformation continued, but this time, besides blood volume dropping, mechanical energy also started to plummet.

[Your Mechanical Energy permanently lost 1000 points]

[Your Mechanical Energy permanently lost 500 points]

[Your Mechanical Energy permanently lost 600 points]

This is another trait of ’constructs’; while any prosthetic plugin enhances mechanical energy, ’constructs’ drain it permanently.

Because constructs essentially are a mode of transformation that distorts the life form.

Then, Gao Gong’s blood volume was cleared once more, head tilted, died again.

400% became 300%.

The modifications continued.

Outside, Jin Ba cast a skeptical glance inside; the soundproofing of the mechanical transformation room was 100%, meaning no matter how loud it got inside, nothing could be heard outside.

Yet, for some reason, she had a feeling of continuous human cries and wails coming from inside the transformation room.
