Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 365: Chapter 134: Old Pawa

”Boss, are you listening to me!!!”

Hanging Street, No. 3-301.

Gao Gong sat on the sofa, one hand supporting his knee, the other rubbing his brow.

Opposite him, Xiao Yu was gesturing a big circle, her eyes wide open.

The Mechanical Armor Soldier leaned against the wall, like an armored statue.

Gao Gong was a Transmigrator, not an omniscient and omnipotent god. To be honest, after the Mechanic said the last sentence, he was really somewhat shaken.

He was even considering whether to give up this task.

If the Mechanic was the new one, this was clearly a trap.

If the Mechanic was the old version, then why say these words?

To be honest, he was previously very certain about the Mechanic’s identity.

The reason was simple, the Mechanic was the Mechanical Main Brain, and the style of a Mechanical Main Brain was closely related to the development path of the Mechanical City it dominated.

If the Mechanical City had many arms dealers, then without a doubt, this Main Brain followed a heavy metal route, and might even be a battle maniac.

But if the Mechanical City had a more developed network industry, then this Mechanical City Main Brain was ten to one a Virtual Main Brain.

Different technological route choices would influence the style of the Mechanical System.

The reason Gao Gong was previously certain that the Mechanic was the old version was largely due to the other’s aura, which exuded a thoroughly old-school style—the kind where Mechanical Legions are dispatched to physically destroy everything.

If it was the new Mechanic, it should be on the Virtual Side, and upon meeting, it should have launched a Virtual Invasion.

But now he wasn’t sure.

After all, Illusionary United Company followed the Personality Chip route.

So the appearance of things like personality confusion, personality switching, and the dark side of the personality is also reasonable.

”My head hurts.”

Especially when there’s a chirping girl nearby.

”Boss, did you hear what I was saying!!??”

Xiao Yu widened her eyes and gestured again.

”I know, I know, isn’t it that Senator Hu is suspected of being a wife-killing, daughter-abusing maniac, and your Aunt Qin seems to have taken some kind of love potion, and insists on tormenting her own son, right?”

Gao Gong pointed at her Dragon Scale Greatsword, ”One slash per problem solved, is such an Advanced weapon meant for foot care?”

Xiao Yu pursed her lips, her eyes turning red.

”Boss~ help this little girl,” Little A once more materialized a long leg, rubbing against Gao Gong.

But this time, Gao Gong uncharacteristically hesitated.

His hesitation wasn’t because of Xiao Yu’s request, in fact, what seemed to shatter a girl’s worldview was routine for him.

In the universe, the joys and sorrows of billions are constantly being played out, and to be honest, the emotions of a single family no longer ruffled Gao Gong’s nerves.

”Did you find anything?” Gao Gong eventually lifted his head and calmly asked.

’On the corpse, I detected marks of strangulation, binding, and whipping. Preliminary judgment is that Madam Hu was beaten to death with a blunt object.’

’According to the data I gathered online, before Madam Hu’s death, Senator Hu frequently lingered in underground clubs, speaking indiscriminately. If not for his close ties with a few local tycoons, he would have been impeached long ago.’

’But immediately after Madam Hu’s death, Senator Hu’s character changed dramatically. He never again appeared in such venues, constantly advocating for domestic violence legislation, maintaining healthy family relationships, and became a top proponent of the Moral Chip. It seems he’s completely reformed.’

”But more likely, he was installed with a Moral Chip, that is, the trial version developed by Beautiful Interconnection,” Gao Gong suddenly interjected.

”So the domestic abuser turned into a househusband. What about the other one?”

’Based on the search results, Senator Qinn’s son has Phantom Limb Syndrome, which in today’s medical environment is incurable. Specifically, whenever he moves, he experiences pain akin to ’lingchi’, accompanied by crying, screaming, loss of bowel control, and body spasms.’

’In recent years, Senator Qinn visited numerous renowned doctors but to no avail. Incidentally, tabloid news reported she had intimate relations with several of those doctors.’

”Sleeping with them?” Gao Gong impassively asked.

’During this, she encountered Madman Xiao and simultaneously submitted the ’Welfare Community’ proposal.’

’But this proposal was blocked by the corporate tier of Nightless City. Every submission ended in failure. It was during this time that the tabloid news on Senator Qinn broke, including a few videos.’

Gao Gong rubbed his knuckles and twisted his neck, ”So it wasn’t her who installed a Moral Chip, but instead, she implanted a chip into her son, that little boy named Little Jie.”

”In front of a long-term illness, there are no dutiful sons, nor dutiful mothers, it seems. So, under the chains of morality, Little Jie became normal, even if only appearing as such, allowing Ms. Qin some peace of mind, right?”

’From the current information, that’s the case.’

Gao Gong stroked his chin and revealed a strange smile.

”The world’s suffering mostly stems from ethics being unable to suppress nature, with bestial instincts overshadowing humanity. Even though this isn’t the Cyber Test Field, such things still happen constantly. Young girl, can you still pick up your sword in such circumstances?”

Xiao Yu was stunned for a moment, then suddenly ’wah’ and knelt on the ground, wailing loudly.

Just then, the door was pushed open, and Pupil and Collider walked in with sullen faces. Seeing the scene, they froze for a moment.

”The Mechanic refuses to release them, right.”

Pupil nodded with a grim expression.

”Looks like you have to accompany me to Crime City.”

Right now, Chapai is a hostage, and the only thing that can exchange for the hostage is that mysterious black box.

”But if we all leave, who will take charge?” Pupil glanced at the Collider, who was taken aback, forced a chuckle, and said, ”I can fight, but dealing with a Mechanical Main Brain? That’s definitely overestimating me.”

His face turned serious again.

”To be honest, Heavy Hammer David and Roger aren’t much, but our colleague in the Humanity Experiment Department is the real threat. I strongly suspect he plans to stir up trouble during the confrontation of the two Mechanic factions.”

”And the members of the Holy City Organization, originally Chapai was the best to deal with them,” Pupil added.

”There’s actually another option. You could align with the new Mechanic faction,” Gao Gong suddenly said, ”This way, the three major gangs, including the emerging giant Illusionary Union, would all side with you.”

The Collider was taken aback, chuckled awkwardly, and said, ”Master, you’re joking. That guy from the Humanity Experiment Department isn’t our colleague. His subordinates just fought with me, and the Holy City Organization is a deadly enemy of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division. As for the Mechanic faction, well, our colleagues are still in their hands. Even if we want revenge, we need to save them first.”

”And most importantly, our Minister’s information!” Pupil said calmly.

Gao Gong smiled nonchalantly, then asked, ”Little A, any special news from Nightless City recently?”

”There are two pieces. First, Illusionary Union has merged with four more well-known companies, causing anxiety among the business community. They’re deeply afraid this emerging giant might target them next and lament that no one can stop its expansion.”

”It’s normal for local private companies to be unable to compete with state-owned enterprises. What’s the next one?”

”Negotiations between the Sub-human Continent and Illusionary Union have broken down, with Illusionary Union’s army at the border. The mechanical warriors of the Sub-human Continent are all on edge. Perhaps a civil war is about to break out.”

Little A only found a short video clip online, less than ten seconds long.

But in this video, a large number of Peacekeepers were stationed around the Sub-human Continent. Besides Peacekeepers, there were high-ranking members of the top three gangs and traces of numerous mechanical eyeliners.

It’s clear that the Mechanic faction is once again playing favorites.

”Indeed, it’s the calm before the storm,” Gao Gong muttered to himself.

”I do have a candidate who can take charge after we leave.”

”Who?” Both the Collider and Pupil perked up.

Gao Gong tilted his chin, pointing to Xiao Yu, who was crying loudly.

Xiao Yu looked around in confusion, thinking her crying was effective, and started crying even more enthusiastically.

”Her!?” The Collider twitched at the corners of his mouth, ”I’d be a better choice!”

”She’s too young, not quite suitable,” Pupil said tactfully.

”No need to complicate things,” Gao Gong stood up and approached Xiao Yu, speaking in an odd tone, ”Didn’t you always complain that the Whiteboard shell was useless? Well, don’t use it then.”

The next moment, Gao Gong grabbed Xiao Yu’s head, twisted it 180 degrees, and pulled it off.

”What the hell!”

”You—”

Even the Mechanical Armor Soldier was startled, leaping towards Gao Gong, only to be knocked away by the suddenly appearing greatsword.

Without a combat module, it’s no match for the past Xiao Yuanshan.

The next moment, the ’Mechanical Splitting Greatsword’ began to transform in mid-air. A human outline formed quickly, turning into a smaller female mechanical body, nearly identical to Mas Sharpness’s Flaming Bird Armor, except there was no ’One Heart, One Body’ or ’Heaven and Earth are Useless’ on the mechanical pelvis. Instead, four large characters appeared below the chest.

A Match Made in Heaven

Xiao Yu was clearly stunned. With a thought, the next moment, hundreds of enhanced three-phase thrusters lit up simultaneously, the violent forces causing Xiao Yu to crash into the ceiling.

Numerous energy patterns instantly appeared on this mechanical body, turning her into a glowing girl.

This mechanical power is at least three times stronger than the previous body!

”Since you don’t like using Whiteboard, use mine instead.”

If Xiao Yu had a status panel, she’d know she suddenly gained over a dozen mechanical skills and talents.

But even without a template, she could feel the insane power within this new body!

If Mas Sharpness is violent, then this body is sheer madness!

She couldn’t even see the limits of this shell.

”Well, then,” Gao Gong looked at the two of them, ”is she qualified now?”

Pupil and the Collider remained silent. With such generosity, what else could they say?

At this moment, a rhythmical knock on the door suddenly sounded.

”Is this the Prosthetic Doctor, Mr. G’s home? I’m here for a consultation,” an elderly voice said.

”Who?”

”I’m Old Pawa, just an old rogue,” the voice outside hesitated, ”After so many years, I’ve only set up a small street organization with less than ten people, just an old useless man.”

”By the way, the organization seems to be called Powerful Gang. Honestly, I don’t like such an arrogant name at all.”

”What do you think?”
