Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 364: Chapter 133: Mechanic (Part 2)

In the extreme cold environment, the entire system of the Hidden Guard Machine failed, yet this all-terrain vehicle remained suspended in the air, without plunging down.

The only reason was that the entire machine seemed to have turned into a nuclear explosion center, and the energy storage system was almost about to burst.

Kinetic energy is generally equivalent to thermal energy, but very few people know that frozen energy can also act as a kinetic energy.

For instance, certain cosmic rays with freezing properties, spatial energy, and dark matter exhibit extremely low temperatures.

At such temperatures, even nanoparticles invisible to the naked eye or a microscope also float in the air.

In the indistinct sensing, they seemed to display a ’four-legged form’.

Nanobeast?

According to the standards of the Mother City, a Level 4 Mechanical Main Brain is roughly at level 80 boss status. In a real fight, Gao Gong is likely to lose, but if he wants to flee, the opponent is also unlikely to catch him.

”It seems that when you fought with the 5th Generation Miller, you held back,” Gao Gong smiled oddly and said, ”Or rather, when you fought with the Cloud Nobility, was it only half of you?”

Upon hearing this, the Machine showed a rare hint of hesitation after always being strong and domineering.

”What do you know?”

”Two in one, two Machines, you have supported this far, which is quite impressive, but now you probably can’t hold on anymore.”

”Moral Chip, Moral Completion, rather than the corporation’s will, it might be your will, or rather, another Machine’s will.”

”How do you know?”

”Is this the attitude when asking someone for advice?”

Dense mechanical eyeliners had already surrounded the Hidden Guard Machine three layers inside and out, and on the ground, some large mechanical bodies also climbed out from the Sulfuric Acid River. These machines were not much smaller than large robots and even had stronger firepower.

This was another Mechanical City, the ’City of Crime’s heavy Mechanical Legion.

In other words, the Machine controls two mechanical legions and even two mechanical cities with a single main brain.

This is the key to its becoming a Level 4 Main Brain.

As for how Gao Gong knew.

Nonsense, he had watched the documentary.

Although the Beast Tide breaking in was the last straw that broke the camel’s back in the ’Nightless City.’

But according to the documentary, before the Beast Tide broke in, the Nightless City was already in chaos. A large number of Crime City residents rushed in, making the city a complete mess.

Machine against Machine led to no one defending against the Beast Tide, and then everyone was engulfed by the beasts.

In the understanding of some artistic player-company, human nature was chaotic, devoured by bestial nature, this was accidental, yet inevitable.

According to the timeline, this documentary, the first documentary of Mechanical Split Star, is also about to be released.

Seeing the Machine remain silent, Gao Gong smiled and said, ”Perhaps you can also try, see whether you can catch me alive, and extract my memories.”

In the end, the Machine compromised, or rather, compromised halfway. The ice began to crack, and a trace of cold air began to rise, eventually manifesting into a three-meter high, indistinctly featured woman.

Like you, Lady Eight Feet!

Although her appearance wasn’t clear, the chest measurements were instantly noted by Gao Gong, unfathomable!

And her expression seemed to suggest, don’t think that just because you made a ’nuclear winter,’ I couldn’t do anything to you.

When this lady was playing with energy, you were still drinking milk.

Gao Gong didn’t mind, he sat down heavily, glanced at the bewildered Chapai, and smiled, ”Where should I begin, let’s start from when you devoured the Mechanical Main Brain of Crime City.”

”Originally, there were two Mechanical Cities on the Guanzhong Plate, one was called Sunless City, and the other was Nightless City. These two cities were long in opposition, after all, there are only so many resources on a continent. If you eat more, I eat less.”

”Amongst them, the enterprises in Sunless City grew faster and were the first to begin group experiments, only it wasn’t moral experimentation, but criminal experimentation.”

”Of course, the experiment failed, the corporation withdrew, the main brain was heavily damaged, a large amount of population data was lost, and Sunless City was even stripped of its mechanical city ordinal, becoming a lawless land, a Crime City.”

”But why it failed, there are many theories. Some say such group experiments generally have high failure rates, so failure was normal. Some say during the experiment, a strong enemy suddenly appeared and disrupted the process. Others say you secretly attacked and severely damaged the Sunless City main brain, and seized the opportunity to absorb its power.”

”Now, it seems the third possibility is the greatest.”

”You have been digesting the vast data of another main brain for years, but due to indigestion, another personality was born.”

”For a large AI like you, the birth of a virtual personality is an incredible event. Once it happens, the Mother City will inevitably come to inspect, and once exposed, ’data clearing’ is unavoidable.”

”So you’ve been hiding it, always trying to digest that personality.”

”But you didn’t expect that the personality emerged earlier than you thought, even secretly cultivating a person, who turned out to be the former Beautiful Interconnection creator, now CEO of Illusionary Union - Hugh Laurie.”

”And it was not until the Moral Chip began to be implemented that you realized this person’s existence, and even realized the existence of another Machine, unfortunately, it was too late!”

”The real target of the Moral Chip was not the residents of Nightless City, but you!”

Gao Gong glanced at the stunned Chapai.

”Did I get it right?”

”You still haven’t said, how did you know?” The Machine asked calmly.

”Don’t rush, the story isn’t finished. At the beginning of this story, the Nightless City Main Brain devoured the Sunless City Main Brain, which led to all subsequent events.”

”But during the initial group experiment in Sunless City, there were actually not only mutual devours between the two main brains, but the accident was real, and the suddenly appearing enemy was also real.”

”That person was the first wanted criminal of the Mother City — Leader of the Bionic Men, Rebel A!”

”So you learned about this because of Rebel A?” The Machine’s tone contained a hint of doubt, a hint of realization, a hint of disbelief.

”But why did A tell you?”

”This matter?”

Gao Gong had retracted the ’nuclear winter state’, looked up, smacked his lips, and the next moment, Emperor’s Might was unleashed!

Emperor’s Might (Mechanical Emperor Exclusive): Powerful mechanical energy turns into imperial pressure, wherever it passes, all machines bow down, holding absolute domination over ancient mechanisms.

The golden light submerged the Hidden Guard Machine, submerged the Mechanical Eyeliner, burst out of the ’dark clouds’, and even stopped the lightning that filled the sky.

”Emperor!!!”

Chapai now regretted it, deeply regretted it.

A main brain that devoured the Mechanical Main Brain.

A suspected ancient Emperor colluding with Rebel A.

This is definitely a kill-to-silence situation!

If only I had passed out just now!

The Mechanic fell silent, but Gao Gong could sense that the Mechanical Eyeliner dozens of miles away had begun to retreat, including those large mechanical bodies underground, which also re-entered the water surface.

This indicates that the other party bought it.

The most artful lies are often nine parts true, one part false.

The content of the data fragments is naturally all true.

As for Rebel A’s situation, that was half guesswork, half intuition on Gao Gong’s part.

After all, in his memory, the only one who could master Nanotechnology to perfection was that unique Bionic Man.

Mother City had no Nanotechnology, and Mechanical City was even less likely to have it.

The relationship between him and A was completely fabricated.

Of course, it wasn’t entirely fabricated, given that Gao Gong never actually said anything.

And what the Mechanic might infer, truthfully, he didn’t know either.

Everyone’s a rebel, maybe they have some common language.

”So he really found another Destruction Form; that’s impressive,” the Mechanic expressed with a look of admiration.

Damn!

Destruction, Destruction Form!?

If you start talking about this, I’m all ears!

But Gao Gong still maintained a ’master of riddles’ expression, actually hoping the other party would say more.

”So, what can you do for me?” the Mechanic’s tone softened.

Gao Gong pondered for a moment and then spoke, ”The key isn’t what I can do, but how you plan to deal with the other Mechanic—whether to destroy it completely, expel it, or reintegrate it?”

”You should know, both of you don’t have much time left.”

The Mechanic said, ”Since you have contact with A, he must have already told you my situation. Go to Sunless City and retrieve that item for me.”

A ’ding’ sound marked the beginning of a mission prompt.

[Mission: Special Black Box]

Difficulty: Difficult+

Mission Brief: The contention of the Mechanic is the crossroads of fate for Nightless City. Whether to go left or right will be up to you.

Mission Duration: 3 days

Mission Objective: Find the ’Small Black Box’

Mission Reward: Experience +30000, Mechanic Favorability +1000, Nightless City Reputation +2000, Mechanical System Fragment *1, Biomimetic Origin Fragment *1

Damn, although I am a Riddler, I really don’t know what you want me to find—is it literally a black box, or is ’black box’ just a codename?

Riddling myself, riddling the Mechanic, even the system is riddling!

As everyone knows, when the number of Riddlers reaches three, plot stagnation occurs.

And that’s the situation now!

The time is only three days; coming and going, one day will have passed.

However, outwardly, Gao Gong calmly nodded.

”Since you’ve made your choice, there’s no problem then.”

The Mechanic turned his head, looking at Chapai, who was immediately overwhelmed with pressure, but it was too late to escape.

”Come rest at my place for a while first.”

The next moment, the Mechanic gave a virtual grasp, and Chapai instantly disappeared.

Or rather, was decomposed into countless human codes.

This ’Transforming Reality into Illusion’ method, tut-tut, one can only say it’s worthy of a Level 4 Main Brain.

The Mechanic looked at Gao Gong: ”Are you leaving now?”

Gao Gong thought for a moment, ”No, I need to return to the city once.”

”That’s up to you,” the Mechanic said calmly, then looked out the glass window. Countless Mechanical Eyeliners had disappeared, as if the recent scene of rolling dark clouds was just an illusion.

”Take care of yourself.”

”Hmm?” From this tone, Gao Gong detected a hint of something amiss.

The Mechanic’s figure began to gradually dissipate, and just before disappearing, Gao Gong distinctly saw a smirk on the other’s lips.

”Just make sure you’re certain, is the Mechanic speaking with you the real one?”

Cold sweat broke out on Gao Gong’s back all of a sudden.
