Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 1847: Chapter 993: The Fourth Outer City Construction Progress Must Be Accelerated!_2

By then, the grain production will surely increase dramatically.

It’s just that the construction work of the Fourth Outer City is indeed a massive project. It is equivalent to twice the work required to build the Third Outer City.

From the start of construction until now, nearly half a year has passed. Thousands of people have been mobilized for the construction, yet not even half has been completed.

Although a lot of manpower and time were spent on the early collection of construction materials, and the natural disaster caused significant delays.

Nevertheless, the progress is somewhat slow.

After hearing Li Yuan’s response, Uncle also shared his thoughts:

“People are resources, but also a burden. However, if we can use them well, they can form a positive cycle.

Quick steps, I think we can let them in. After the trials they’ve been through, I believe they would also cherish this opportunity.”

Li Hang nodded and then looked at Third Uncle, asking, “Third Uncle, what do you think?”

Third Uncle rubbed his eyes and said, “Anything is fine, but if these people come in, we need to implement proper precautions.”

Li Hang wanted to hear Third Uncle speak more, but that’s all he said and then fell silent.

Li Hang coughed a couple of times and then addressed everyone, saying, “What about the rest of you? Any opinions, feel free to share.”

Subsequently, Ding Jiu and He Chao both expressed that they could come in, but Li Gang, Dapao, Song Min, and others voiced opposition.

In the end, a vote was held.

12 to 8.

Regarding whether to agree to the request of the people from the four satellite cities and let them in, 12 voted in favor, and 8 opposed.

Li Hang finally announced the result, saying, “12 in favor, 8 against.”

Then he looked at Li Yu, asking, “City Lord, what do you think? Will you use your veto power?”

Li Yu winced when he heard the term “City Lord.”

But thinking it over, he figured a bit more formality might not be bad.

Though it did sound a bit awkward.

Li Yu pushed aside his thoughts for the moment and said to everyone looking at him, “Since the vote has already given a result, let’s do it that way.”

He was somewhat conflicted, intending to use everyone’s perspectives as a reference.

After everyone’s vote resulted in this decision, he found himself not too opposed, so he knew it should be feasible.

Li Hang, hearing this, understood Li Yu’s intention not to use his veto power.

And so, everyone said, “Alright, after a fair and just vote, we agree to let personnel from the four satellite cities temporarily enter the Outer City to avoid the natural disaster.”

…..

Southern Paradise.

In a building ruin three kilometers from the wall.

The people from the Northern Territory Federation, who had been tracking all the way here, stayed here without making a fire, quietly observing the distant Southern Paradise in the dark.

“Big brother, I just gathered information from a few refugees outside the wall. The leader in this Southern Paradise is called Mr. Hu, and there are about two thousand people inside.”

Wensheng tightened his clothes, feeling a bit cold at night.

He continued, “According to those refugees, the team we were following is a close subordinate of Mr. Hu, called Chen Er. Since three months ago, they often drove oil tank trucks out. I suspect they were going to Oil City.

They probably started cooperating three months ago.

It is said that there was a rebellion by the second-in-command in Southern Paradise not long ago, but it was swiftly suppressed by Mr. Hu.”

A well-built man heard this, frowned, and asked:

“When you went to gather information earlier, you didn’t expose your identity, did you?”

“No, we changed our clothes. I told them we were refugees from the south, and they didn’t pay much attention.”

“Hmm, you must keep your identity hidden and not expose it, or we’ll have trouble if Southern Paradise notices.”

“Oh, during the day you mentioned they were trading sugar and medicine. Did you find out more about this?” the sturdy man, who was called Dadao, asked.

Wensheng replied:

“Yes, I’ve found out. This Southern Paradise reportedly cleared out zombies from a medical factory and took all the medicines inside.

As for the sugar, that’s true too, but we don’t know where they got their sugar.”

Dadao nodded and continued, “Alright, let’s find out more tomorrow. The Governor mentioned that for humanity to achieve ultimate victory, we must unite. See if there’s a possibility to bring Southern Paradise into our alliance.”

“Okay, I’ll take someone to investigate further tomorrow,” Wensheng nodded.

“Right, you’ve worked hard. Don’t take the night watch tonight as you need to probe more tomorrow. Rest well tonight.”

“Got it, big brother.”

The night was silent.

They looked at the refugee camp wall in the distance with a touch of emotion.

Compared to the Northern Territory Federation, the people inside the outer wall were still somewhat fortunate.

At least they didn’t have to worry about the threat of zombies.

Meanwhile, in Southern Paradise, the refugee camps outside the walls had hardly any defenses.

They merely dug a trench less than two meters deep and one meter wide outside the refugee camp to block zombies.

But this level of defense is not strong.

In case of a heavy rainstorm, the zombies might just break through.

…

One night passed.

The next day at the Big Camphor Tree Base.

After yesterday’s emergency meeting, it was finally decided to let people from the four satellite cities enter the outer city of the Big Camphor Tree Base.
