Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

An aurora, like a drop of water on an otherwise calm lake surface.

Stirred up a wave of turbulence.

After the torrential rain, the reaction from the zombies outside the walls was obvious, becoming noticeably less agitated and frenzied, trending towards calmness.

Even the height of the zombie stack was continuously decreasing.

But it was still nighttime, and the zombies had not departed.

Within the Inner City.

Li Yu sat on the balcony rattan chair in the room. In two hours, the sun would rise. When the sun appeared, the intense solar radiation hitting the skin felt like being scorched.

Without protection, the skin exposed to solar radiation would rot within ten minutes, with prolonged exposure leading to even more severe consequences.

What’s more troublesome is that intense solar activity causes charged particles to disrupt the DQ magnetic field, making radio signals lose their function.

At that time, walkie-talkies in the base would be affected.

Even more so, when the first wave of solar charged particles scattered — which would occur as soon as the sun emerged — it would be the strongest magnetic storm period, leading to the collapse of the entire electricity system, including damage to some transformers.

So, what’s most important now is to quickly shut down the power system.

Wait until the magnetic storm weakens before turning the power system back on.

This will last for two days. After two days, the magnetic storm will weaken, but solar radiation will not.

At the Big Camphor Tree Base, electricity is extremely vital.

If the power system were hit, it would deal a devastating blow to the entire Big Camphor Tree Base.

He suddenly thought, ordering the shutting down of the power system without any forewarning seemed abrupt and could lead to speculation.

Yet, if the power system isn’t shut down, the losses would be profound.

Thinking of this.

Li Yu could no longer be bothered by anything else; time equated to life. He quickly picked up the walkie-talkie to contact Second Uncle.

However, without the obstruction of clouds and torrential rain, there weren’t as many charged particles at this time, yet they still affected radio signals.

Thus, Li Yu could only notify everyone in person.

He hurriedly stood up, took a gun and tucked it at his waist.

Ready to run out and inform everyone to shut down all power systems.

But as he ran down the villa, Second Uncle and Uncle came towards him hurriedly, both looking tense, as if something serious happened.

”What’s going on?” Li Yu asked.

”Old Dong’s daughter, in the radio major at Electrical Science and Technology University, just said she saw the flickering lights and felt something was amiss. Later, she took a geomagnetic detection instrument and reported slight magnetic storm, possibly a big magnetic storm when the sun rises.

The magnetic storm would have a massive impact on the power system, possibly causing its collapse.

I tried the radio just now, indeed it didn’t work. What she said is likely true. We must quickly shut down all power systems, or the consequences will be very severe.”

Uncle also spoke nervously, ”I think what she said could be true, otherwise the radios and walkie-talkies wouldn’t have malfunctioned.”

Li Yu raised an eyebrow at this.

It’s like receiving a pillow when sleepy.

”Are you talking about Dong Ying?”

”Yes, yes, exactly him, Xiao Yu. There’s less than two hours until daylight, time is scarce. Following her advice and shutting down the power system would only waste a bit of time, but if her speculation is correct, we’re doomed.”

Li Yu was originally about to discuss this matter with Second Uncle and the others. When he was going downstairs, he was thinking of ways to convince them.

After all, he didn’t understand the principle himself and could only tell them what to do. If he couldn’t convince them, he would have to use his status to forcibly order them to do so.

”Alright, let’s now go to the First Outer City to ask Dong Ying for the best course of action.” Li Yu understood the urgency and decisively said.

Uncle and Second Uncle glanced at each other, surprised that Li Yu believed it so easily.

The three hurriedly ran towards the First Outer City.

Before long.

They arrived at the First Outer City and came to Dong Ying’s room.

She was Old Dong Kong Shuang’s eldest daughter, and they lived in the same room.

Li Yu pushed the door open directly and saw Dong Ying sitting in a chair, with a geomagnetic monitor placed in front of her.

Her expression was anxious, like an ant on a hot pan.

Saying to her father, ”Dad, we really can’t wait any longer; we must act quickly...”

Upon pushing the door open, Li Yu went straight to the point without any nonsense: ”What can we do to protect our power systems and electronic devices?”

Seeing four Big Camphor Tree Base-shakers rush in — Li Yu, Second Uncle, Uncle, He Chao.

Behind them, the Jackals, Luo and others were drawn by the commotion, gathering as well. Since the room was too small, they didn’t enter but stood outside the door.

Dong Ying was taken aback, then delighted.

As time slipped away, she understood that if countermeasures weren’t implemented soon, it could deal a devastating blow to the Big Camphor Tree Base.

But her words carried little weight, and if the leadership didn’t take it seriously, it would be troublesome.

During her stay at the Big Camphor Tree Base, living and researching here, her family lived well. She had grown fond of the Base.

Upon discovering the issue earlier, she immediately sought He Chao, who then found Second Uncle; she hadn’t expected to alarm the leader of the Big Camphor Tree Base, Li Yu.
