Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

”Moreover, there’s the matter of lubricants. Lubricating oils and greases are widely used for lubricating various machines. Without lubrication, almost all machinery can’t function properly.

The majority of lubes and greases (butter) consist of base oils refined from petroleum. Many lubricating oils contain 90% petroleum.

The common lubricating oils are engine oils for car engines, commonly known as motor oil.”

Li Yu was somewhat surprised; some of this knowledge was unfamiliar to him.

Although he knew the importance of petroleum, he didn’t realize it had such extensive applications.

Immediately after.

Kong Shuang continued, ”Actually, in recent days, the fertilizers and pesticides we produced also required petroleum. Plus, petroleum products are involved in food preservation, coloring, and seasoning... ”

Faced with all this information from Kong Shuang, Li Yu listened and nodded deeply.

He’s not omniscient; he can’t understand every industry and field.

Despite making preparations when Doomsday first broke out, it now seems insufficient.

If he were only tasked with surviving with a small group, just the stockpiled pharmaceuticals and such would suffice.

But now the base needs expansion, which necessitates achieving one goal.

The ability to produce self-sufficiently, the capability to manufacture these things independently.

That’s the long-term strategy. Otherwise, as time passes, external resources will inevitably be depleted. It’s better to start research now and then scale up production.

Li Yu’s expression grew more serious as he listened; he felt this matter needed to be elevated to the level of the future development strategy for the base.

It’s essential to achieve self-sufficient production of daily necessities and some basic supplies.

This process might be lengthy, and more manpower and materials will be needed later, but getting started and laying the foundation is crucial.

Thus, Li Yu looked at Kong Shuang seriously and said, ”Alright, I understand. Later, you can compile a list of required items with Bai Jie and the others and give it to me. I’ll find a way to solve it for you.”

Kong Shuang thanked him, ”Thank you, Director Li.”

Li Yu waved his hand and said, ”No need. You gave me a pleasant surprise. Good job. How’s life with Old Dong? Any issues? Do you need a bigger room?”

Kong Shuang quickly responded, ”No issues, no issues. We’re living quite well, with no worries about food and drink. Thanks for your concern, Director Li; we’re already very grateful.”

Li Yu, hearing her say this, didn’t press further.

He then talked with Ma Di and Bai Jie for a while, discussing the matter of developing a fortified version of the Zombie Attraction Potion.

Both expressed no issues.

Afterward, Li Yu was about to leave, and Bai Jie quickly said, ”Director Li, let me see you off.”

Li Yu glanced at Bai Jie, and when no one was paying attention, she winked at him.

Li Yu coughed, about to refuse, but then Bai Jie approached and whispered, ”Director Li, I have some new ideas about the fortified Zombie Attraction Potion to discuss with you.”

Li Yu then nodded and said, ”Alright, let’s talk as we walk.”

He then exited the Research Room, with Bai Jie following behind him.

As for those in the Research Room like Ma Di, they found this scene perfectly natural.

After all, Bai Jie is the person in charge of the entire Research Room, so it’s reasonable for Director Li to consult her about the situation.

It’s just like in the workplace before Doomsday, where sometimes the big boss would call a middle manager for a private discussion, which was considered normal.

As the two walked out of the Research Room, there were several rooms nearby storing raw materials, as well as a lounge.

Li Yu turned his head, about to inquire about the fortified Zombie Attraction Potion when he noticed a small hand reaching towards him.

Following that, Bai Jie glanced around.

She stepped in front of Li Yu, lowering her right hand.

Li Yu frowned, catching a scent of fragrance that made him swallow.

”Hey, let’s just talk business, no messing around,” Li Yu said solemnly.

Chuckling, Bai Jie had an alluring beauty mark near her lips that was particularly noticeable.

Bai Jie usually wore black glasses, emanating a very serious and cold aura, which was a stark contrast to her current demeanor.

Bai Jie gently tugged at Li Yu’s sleeve, leading him towards the lounge.

Given her understanding of the people in the Research Room, they are all workaholics who rarely use the lounge.

Feeling his sleeve being tugged, Li Yu sensed inner turmoil.

This was far too indulgent and brazen, doing something so audacious in broad daylight; it surely taints his dignified image.

Noticing he couldn’t move Li Yu, Bai Jie’s eyes gleamed as she changed tactics.

Her hand moved downward, grabbing Li Yu’s belt as she chatted and walked ahead, smiling.

Alas...

Feeling helpless, Li Yu followed along, figuring they might as well discuss work matters and exchange ideas; it’s not a big deal.

Once inside the lounge.

Bai Jie in high heels.

........

Su Xue.

Back end.

....

....

Li Yu spat a few times on Bai Jie’s face.

Then he tidied his belt and looked at the ceiling, saying, ”Alright, talk about it—what new ideas do you have for the enhanced Zombie Attraction Potion?”

Bai Jie gently lit a cigarette for Li Yu, then sat on the table as if oblivious to any potential exposure.

She began, ”After the last research, I realized that while the Zombie Attraction Potion is undoubtedly potent, every potion has a corresponding antidote.

Recently, I’ve thought of a solvent that could counteract the enhanced Zombie Attraction Potion, the production isn’t complex. It’s not yet tested, but it’s worth a try.”

Li Yu nodded upon hearing this, saying, ”Not bad, give it a try. Also, the Zombie Attraction Potion is found to evaporate easily; try to find a solution for that.”

”Alright.” Bai Jie put on her glasses, speaking earnestly.
