Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

After communicating with Uncle and Second Uncle about the decision regarding the extra staff, including Guo Peng and others, they decided to wait until Third Uncle and the others returned to discuss further.

Li Yu also discussed with Second Uncle and others some matters that had been set aside recently while Li Yu was absent, and finalized the handling methods.

After finishing these, Li Yu and Li Tie, along with several others, passed through a long corridor from Weng City to enter the Third Outer City.

Due to the presence of numerous zombies and generators in the residential buildings of the Second Outer City, the passage between the Second Outer City and the Third Outer City was not opened. However, the First Outer City and the Third Outer City were connected by a corridor.

After descending the wall, they arrived at the construction site in the Third Outer City, seeing densely packed people busy building the walls and greenhouse sheds. Li Yu felt much happier, seeing the base constantly growing bigger and stronger was indeed a joyful thing.

While passing the construction site, many people from the Outer City, extra staff, and cooperative personnel greeted Li Yu, who nodded and smiled in response.

Ding Jiu quickly noticed Li Yu’s arrival, handed his affairs to Xiao Liu, and then ran over.

By the time he arrived by Li Yu’s side, Li Yu had already reached the side gate of the Third Outer City.

Looking at this huge steel gate, Li Yu took out the dagger he carried with him and knocked twice, producing a dull clanking sound.

Seeing some pipes installed behind this gate, Li Yu frowned and asked, ”What are these?”

Ding Jiu laughed and said, ”This was researched and crafted by Old Dong and He Bing together, it’s an electric hydraulic gate, half a meter thick, weighing 6 tons, powered by electricity, and remotely controllable.”

”What if there’s a problem with the power switch, what if there’s a blackout? Will the gate automatically open?” Li Yu asked, very concerned about this, worrying that if it were during a zombie tide outbreak and heavy rain caused a blackout, it would be a terrifying situation.

So he used the simplest methods for the main gate, using many pulleys, relying on manpower to open that heavy gate.

Upon hearing this, Ding Jiu quickly pulled down a wire nearby and said to Li Yu, ”This hasn’t been completely finished yet; later we’ll add a layer of steel casing, and as for a blackout, it’s not a problem. Once the gate loses power, it automatically locks and can only be opened and closed manually.”

Then he operated the electric mechanism to close the gate.

Next, he switched off the power with a click!

With a sound of metal colliding, Li Yu pushed gently, indeed it was automatically locked.

Immediately, Ding Jiu then pulled a wheel beside him, and as he pulled the wheel, the heavy gate slowly moved open.

Although manual opening was comparatively slow, it could be opened or closed within fifteen seconds.

Seeing this, Li Yu nodded slightly, knowing that this was acceptable.

Then, looking at the line equipment temporarily placed by the gate, he advised, ”These things should be placed on the wall at the time, and these lines must not be exposed; they need to be buried.”

Ding Jiu nodded and said, ”That’s right, later a hole will be directly dug in the wall, connecting it to the top, and it will be welded shut with steel casing on the outside, no problem at all.”

Li Yu finally felt reassured, as a sufficiently solid gate was of utmost importance.

Even if it’s somewhat troublesome, as long as it’s very stable, that’s no problem.

”Shall Weng City be built over there?” Li Yu pointed toward the stake set twenty meters away.

Ding Jiu set down what he was holding, looked toward where Li Yu pointed and said, ”Yes, the entire Weng City covers about three acres.

By the way, this hasn’t been mentioned, during the time you were away, your Second Uncle and He Chao found that sometimes when vehicles returned, the Weng City at the main gate couldn’t accommodate them, so they suggested building the Weng City a bit larger.”

Li Yu thought for a while and said, ”The Weng City at the main gate is one acre, less than 700 square meters. This Weng City is indeed much larger, three times bigger. Second Uncle’s suggestion makes sense; the current Weng City seems a bit small.

Alright, I understand, we’ll build the Weng City over three acres.

Have you made any modifications elsewhere?”

Ding Jiu shook his head and said, ”No, except for the gate and Weng City, no other modifications have been made, everything is built according to the blueprint.”

Li Yu nodded and said nothing more.

After circling the wall, occasionally using a hammer to tap the wall surface, after completing a round, he looked at Ding Jiu and seriously said, ”The walls are of great significance; although speed in construction is preferable, the sturdiness is most important. The walls will be our shield during the zombie tide; you must remember this, no carelessness.”

Seeing Li Yu’s serious expression, Ding Jiu also solemnly said, ”I know, so during construction, from materials to execution, I’ve supervised the entire process. Additionally, your father often comes to check.

Don’t worry, speaking of other things is uncertain, but regarding the wall’s sturdiness, there’s absolutely no doubt; no explosives can breach such a thick wall.”

Li Yu nodded slightly and then prepared to leave with Li Tie and a few others.

As they were leaving, he spotted many acquaintances.

Zuo Ruxue was driving a forklift, transporting some cement. Under the sun, she was sweating all over, and perhaps due to being in the sun often recently, Zuo Ruxue’s skin had tanned to a healthy wheat color.
