Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 1225: Chapter 754: Escape to the Secret Chamber (2)

The zombies outside the vehicle all raised their heads, their ghastly faces bearing an eerie... comfortable expression.

Crack, crack, crack!

More and more zombies crawled out through the gaps in the vehicles, as if the rain was granting them more strength.

Bang, bang, bang!

Seeing this, Li Tie quickly fired at a slowly widening gap, shouting towards Li Yu, ”Bro, zombies are getting in, get on the vehicle!”

At that moment, Li Yu was on the third floor, clutching the last box of ammunition, watching Lao Che and the others.

”Bro, what about them?” Li Gang pointed at Lao Che and the others, their faces full of pleading and despair, and said.

Li Yu hesitated for a moment. To be honest, these people had cooperated well today, even volunteering to help resist the zombies earlier.

Taking them along for an escape was unrealistic; they would only be a burden. More importantly, Li Yu didn’t trust these people enough to watch his back.

However, thanks to their cooperation today, he hesitated for two seconds.

He threw a few cold weapons to them, then said, ”I’ll lock the door; you’ll have to figure something out on your own.”

After saying this, he ran downstairs.

Li Gang took a look at them, sighed, and quickly followed Li Yu.

He knew, now that it was raining, the zombies could stack and the granary couldn’t withstand the zombies.

As they went downstairs, more zombies forced their way through the vehicle gaps.

Yang Tianlong and Li Tie held rifles, shooting zombies seven or eight meters away.

However, under the heavy rain, the zombies’ agility changed visibly fast.

Originally limping as if they had a broken leg, their speed now matched a casual human walking pace.

Bullets fired.

A group of zombies fell.

Li Tie was just changing magazines when two zombies suddenly squeezed out from between the gaps of two trucks on the right, which were growing larger. After the gap expanded, more zombies charged in from outside.

Crash!

The rain poured down heavier and heavier.

Torrential rain came pouring.

The rainfall drenched them, soaking their bodies completely.

The heavier the rain, the quicker the zombies’ agility and strength increased.

Bang, bang, bang!

Li Yu reached the ground floor, firing at the zombies rushing through the widening gap on his right.

He then pulled out a hand grenade and tossed it towards the seven or eight zombies coming their way.

Boom!

”Get in the vehicle!” Dapao shouted from the driver’s seat.

Li Tie and Li Gang ran while shooting at the zombies outside.

Li Yu shouted to Yang Tianlong, ”Tianlong, get in, use the rocket launcher to clear the way.”

Hearing this, Yang Tianlong immediately rushed to the vehicle, casually tossing away his assault rifle, and then readied the rocket launcher, loading the bomb.

He pulled down a portable ladder, then half of his body emerged from the car roof.

Before these zombies became too agile to stack and climb, he quickly got up.

Otherwise, in no time, they wouldn’t have the opportunity to attack from the rooftop anymore.

Once the zombies stayed in the heavy rain long enough, their agility would vastly improve.

The zombies could easily climb onto the vehicle, reach the roof, and completely enclose it.

After Li Yu closed the granary door, he got into the Unimog, slammed the door shut, and told Dapao, ”Go.”

Rumble—

Dapao hit the gas, heading towards the direction of the scrap warehouse and Gan Xiong’s secret chamber.

Ahead, two trucks parked close together were rammed open by the armored vehicle’s front.

Swish—

The two trucks slid to both sides, with their tires screeching unpleasantly against the ground.

Due to the rain, the ground was wet, reducing friction, and with many zombies cushioning behind, the trucks didn’t overturn.

Boom!

Yang Tianlong pulled the trigger of the rocket launcher, and the bomb shot straight down the vehicle path.

The road ahead was packed densely with zombies.

A single bomb sent the zombies twenty meters away flying, creating a vacuum zone in the middle.

Simultaneously, dense gunfire sounded.

Rat-a-tat-tat—

Li Gang pressed the trigger of the heavy machine gun, shooting at the zombies ahead.

In the pouring rain, bullets pierced through raindrops, striking the zombies’ bodies and heads...

Just fifty to sixty meters ahead, it was all zombies.

The zombies surrounded their vehicle completely, and Dapao didn’t dare to speed up too much because some zombies were entangled under the vehicle. If it moved too fast, it could easily overturn, and they’d be doomed if trapped in the zombie tide.

Moving slowly but steadily, they proceeded forward.

Thud, thud, thud!

The sides of the vehicle echoed with the sound of zombies pounding.

Some zombies’ faces pressed against the window, their terrifying visages clearly visible.

In the crowd of zombies, despite moving slowly, the vehicle kept progressing.

It wasn’t far from the scrap warehouse, and amid the gunfire and bomb explosions, they quickly reached the doorway of the scrap warehouse.

Dapao, skillful in driving, reversed and parked outside the warehouse entrance.

Now, their vehicle was positioned just two meters from the warehouse door, meaning they only needed to step out and take a step to enter the warehouse.

Squeak—

Once the vehicle was parked, Li Yu was the first to open the door, carrying ammunition and shooting at the two-meter gap between the scrap warehouse and the vehicle.

Li Tie faced another direction.

Yang Tianlong closed the rooftop cover, locked the crossbar, and followed behind Li Gang, both of them getting out of the vehicle.

Right after getting out, they hurried into the scrap warehouse, where some zombies already broke in, and they shot them.

Dapao was the last to leave the vehicle. He took out the key and slammed the door shut, then rushed inside with his rifle.

Once Li Yu and Li Tie saw that Dapao and the others were inside, they quickly made their way towards the scrap warehouse.

The scrap warehouse door had been dismantled during the day, so it couldn’t be closed.

They formed a combat formation, Yang Tianlong and Li Gang taking the front to clear the zombies, then Li Yu and Li Tie moved further ahead as the others provided cover.

Using this formation, in two minutes, they reached the old artifact room.

Bang!

Li Yu was the last to enter the artifact room, with the zombies outside relentlessly slamming into the door.

Watching as the door was battered, dust continuously falling, Li Yu shouted to Dapao and the others, ”Hurry. This door won’t hold for long, get down quickly.”

The circular metal plate below was open.

Dapao quickly descended, followed by Li Gang, Li Tie, and Yang Tianlong.

The artifact room door was under attack from zombies, shaking violently.

Crack, crack!

The door groaned mournfully, on the verge of breaking open.

Li Yu rushed towards the circular metal plate.

With agility, he dove into the opening, pulling up the metal plate with him.

At the same moment, the door was smashed open by zombies, with three or four rushing in swiftly.

Bam!

The circular metal plate sealed just in time.

Bang, bang, bang!

The sound of zombies pounding on the metal plate resonated.

Feeling a slight tingling underfoot.

From the underground floor to the top, it’s about four or five meters. Jumping such a height would certainly make your feet tingle.

Ignoring his tingling feet, Li Yu stepped onto the stairs and locked the crossbar on the circular metal plate.

After doing all this, Li Yu let out a small breath.

Bang, bang, bang!

The sound of zombies pounding on the circular metal plate continued.

Li Yu took off his helmet, seeing Yang Tianlong and the others sitting on the ground, soaked to the bone, their brains numb.

Had they slipped even slightly, they might have all died outside.

Click!

Li Yu lit a cigarette, took a puff, and exhaled white smoke.

”Give me one.” Yang Tianlong requested from Li Yu.

Li Yu tossed over the whole pack of cigarettes.

.....

Meanwhile, the people like Lao Che remaining at the granary watched, horrified, at the zombies downstairs.

The rain kept on falling.

Several hours later, the zombies stacked to a certain height, climbed through the windows, and amidst screams, in just over ten minutes, all that was left was the sound of gnawing bones...
