Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 940: Chapter 651: Travelers on a Snowy Road

The big cat shook his head and said, ”Didn’t have time. After we rolled out the barrel, about a dozen people came out from the distillery, all armed, though some were using homemade weapons.”

Wayne felt he couldn’t get anything useful and helplessly took out the map to look at it.

Half an hour later, they arrived near the distillery.

This distillery itself was located in the eastern outskirts of Yishi, not far from the river. There were no tall buildings nearby, and the area was fairly flat, making it difficult for them to find a higher vantage point to observe the inside of the distillery.

They could only take the risk and head to the place opposite the distillery gate. There were a few small buildings there, apparently a small supermarket before Doomsday, about five stories high.

Right across from the distillery, less than 30 meters away.

After a turn, the big cat pointed ahead and said, ”It’s right in front, go straight, then turn right, and you’ll be there.”

Wayne looked at the heavy snow outside, really not wanting to get out of the car.

Walking through such heavy snow was pure suffering.

But there was no choice; it was a task assigned by the boss, and Gan Hu was watching.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

He could only say to everyone, ”Get out and walk, Liu Ding. A few of you watch the car and wait for my signal.”

Wayne and dozens of others got out and headed into the low alley.

On both sides of the alley were rural houses, no more than three and a half stories at the tallest.

They walked through the alley towards the distillery.

Five minutes later.

Wayne reached the opposite side of the distillery’s gate.

Just as he peeked out, he quickly pulled his head back.

He saw two people on the duty Observation Tower of the distillery.

Although the two weren’t looking his way, out of caution, he didn’t dare to observe further.

He slowly withdrew his foot and made a signal to those behind him.

Fall back!

The people Wayne led were seasoned private bodyguards who had long served Gan Xiong, with formidable combat abilities.

Seeing Wayne’s gesture, they slowly retreated.

Wayne looked at the house in front of him, then crossed the abandoned yard, entering the farmhouse courtyard.

The back door of the house was a wooden door.

Perhaps it had endured wind and rain, sun and shower, and the corrosion of acid rain.

This wooden door was somewhat rotten.

When the wind blew, it would creak.

Wayne looked at his men behind, signaling them to enter first.

He then went to the wooden door, carefully lifted it, and opened it.

The lock on the wooden door had long fallen to the ground.

When Wayne pulled, surprisingly, the entire wooden door came off.

Wayne quickly hugged the door, preventing it from falling.

He didn’t know if the door falling would be heard by those dozens of meters away.

However, to be cautious, he tried not to make any noise.

Whoosh—

He held the wooden door, gently laying it down.

With the door open, sunlight streamed into the house, bringing with it a gust of dust and a musty smell.

Inside looked empty, with dirty trash scattered on the floor.

Wayne put a finger to his lips, signaling everyone behind him to stay quiet.

Stepping in slowly.

It was a small door, not reaching the original first-floor supermarket area of the house.

It did not directly face the distillery area opposite.

Wayne carefully held his gun firmly.

Slowly moving to the stairs, he ascended.

On the second floor, the glass was shattered.

Through the cracks in the broken glass, they could see the distillery opposite, though the glass was smeared with black grime.

Wayne didn’t stop, continuing upwards.

After reaching the third floor, he was a bit surprised by what he saw but quickly steadied himself.

On the third floor lay a dozen skeletons in disarray.

Covered with cobwebs and dust.

He did not know what had happened here, but it looked gruesome.

Wayne stealthily approached the third-floor window.

The glass on the third floor was also broken, letting the snow drift in.

He carefully peeked from a corner, observing the situation at the distillery opposite.

The distillery.

A massive iron gate about ten meters tall, with wooden barricades set up outside, blocking the way.

Behind the iron gate was a two-level Observation Tower, with two people on the lower level and four on the upper level.

Behind these people, several cars were parked, with four or five folks playing cards on them.

At the center was a 200 square meter plaza, behind which stood a tall building.

The building was quite tall, with more than ten stories, likely the tallest structure around.

To the right of the building was a vertical sign: Yiwu Distillery.

One stroke was missing from the character ’Yi.’

The walls were also badly weathered.

All he could see on the opposite building were two people smoking at a window.

Trying to see further was impossible due to the wall’s obstruction.

He crouched down, moved to another corner, then stood back up and looked over.

”Damn it,” he couldn’t help but curse.

The opposite building was so tall that it blocked the view of everything behind it, his eyes darting around in a circle.

Taking out the map, he examined the distillery.

No way around it.

He slowly went down, found the big cat, and asked, ”Do you know how big this distillery is?”

The big cat thought for a moment and said, ”Very big!”

”Damn!” Wayne felt like slapping him; as if he needed to be told that.

He looked at him in exasperation.
