Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 910: Chapter 640: Be Careful Out There! (3)

The people on duty, because they encountered a few zombies in the first half of the night, quickly dealt with them, so they felt it was nothing and relaxed their vigilance.

Most of these people on duty are peripheral members of the two families, and they usually do the heavy and tiring work.

The duty was assigned to those who were not very important because of certain social intricacies.

There wasn’t much food, so they had to eat sparingly, already feeling a belly full of resentment.

They didn’t care much about the Western Alliance; they only knew that it was at least safe over there, but they had no significant voice in the matter.

Duty was boring, facing the night alone.

The night was very cold, and even though you could see far standing on the roof of a car or building, it was freezing.

The piercing cold wind felt like needles on their skin.

The Zhou family member on duty went inside a car because it was too cold outside.

They could still see the outside situation without abandoning their post, how wonderful.

The Liu family member on duty saw this and did not question it but followed suit and got into the car.

There were twenty of them in total, divided into two shifts.

At the same time, ten people were on guard duty.

Once there was one, there was another; others followed suit and hid in the cars for their shifts.

Once the car heater was turned on, warm air blew out.

They were indeed tired today....

Until the zombies came within a hundred meters, they hadn’t noticed in the car.

Zhou Xiaou yawned inside the car; the temperature difference between inside and outside was so significant that a layer of mist always appeared on the glass.

The outside situation was unclear.

He habitually wiped the glass.

After one wipe, his pupils slightly contracted.

After two wipes, he opened his eyes wide.

After three wipes, he shouted, ”Zombie Tide is coming! Wake up, wake up.”

His voice was loud inside the car, but the quality of his car was superb, with excellent soundproofing.

In a rush, he simply pressed the horn.

Beep Beep Beep——

The horn sound echoed throughout the area.

Many people were startled awake by the horn, some cursing as they got up, others with drastic faces, immediately grabbing weapons and rushing out.

Zhou Xiaou came out of the car, shouting to the others, ”Zombies are here! Lots and lots of zombies.”

The personnel hiding in other vehicles also came out.

Through the gaps in the vehicles, they clearly saw the wave of zombies in the distance, dense as a tide.

And these zombies, stimulated by the sharp siren, also howled skyward.

They accelerated their approach.

”Intercept, intercept, hurry and notify everyone,” the team leader from the Zhou family said to Zhou Xiaou.

Zhou Xiaou shouted, ”I’ve already sounded the siren; everyone should be awake.”

After saying this, he took out a spear from inside the car, preparing to fight the zombies.

Guns were something only core members of the Zhou family had; people like him from the peripheral branches didn’t qualify for firearms.

The foremost zombies had already come running.

They crashed into the vehicles, making banging sounds.

A dozen people standing on top of vehicles hurried to resist these zombies.

At this time, more people were running out, most holding spears.

They were at a crossroads, and when the zombies got there, they automatically drilled into the gaps between the vehicles.

So, quickly, more than half of the circle of the vehicle wall was surrounded by zombies.

.....

Zhou Zhisheng came out of the room and immediately saw many zombies in the gaps between the vehicles.

He rushed forward, aimed a gun at a zombie about to crawl through a vehicle gap, and fired.

In such a crisis, not using the gun was not an option.

After Zhou Zhisheng used his gun, others with guns also stopped holding back and began to resist with firearms.

”Liu Cunyi, your Liu family will take care of the east side; our Zhou family will handle the west.” Intercepting zombies requires energy and might even cost manpower. Even in such times, businessman Zhou Zhisheng had to share the pressure with him.

Liu Cunyi, standing in the gap intercepting zombies, felt speechless upon hearing Zhou Zhisheng’s words:

”Are you really stupid? Still thinking about dividing duties at a time like this? Quickly let your people intercept, our encirclement isn’t a real wall; there are gaps everywhere, plug them where needed!”

After saying this, he speared a zombie crawling through the gap between two vehicles.

Another zombie crawled from under a vehicle; fortunately, he dodged in time, or he would have been bitten.

Perhaps Zhou Zhisheng’s words had angered him, or maybe it was the zombie that nearly bit him; he directly pulled out a gun and shot the zombie in the head.

....

Hearing this from afar, Zhou Zhisheng also felt it made sense; there was indeed no need to differentiate now.

So he shouted to the Zhou family people, ”All Zhou family members come on, do not let a single zombie in.”

The zombie horde outside, crossing from the city, was of an alarming number.

But for the Zhou and Liu families, luckily, it was not raining today.

Otherwise, rain combined with darkness, all of them would be doomed here.

These zombies, although more agile than during the day, were still several times slower compared to rainy conditions.

Even if they could crawl in from under the vehicles, it still had to be a big truck, where the clearance from the ground was relatively high, about 70 centimeters.

If the clearance was on a lower-car, they would not be able to crawl in.

The battle was very intense.

On one side was the two-family alliance of over 500 people, relying on the vehicle wall to resist.

On the other side, were over ten thousand zombies, and that was just what they could see from here.

Moving sluggishly, repeatedly pounding on the cars.

No rain, this was truly the Zhou and Liu families’ fortune.

Zombies overlapped given two conditions.

One was when the individual zombie area was sufficiently large, simply put when there were enough zombies.

The second was when zombies’ agility and mobility were high enough, generally in the rain or in special situations like in the water.

Today, it wasn’t raining; the zombies couldn’t achieve the overlapping degree.

But as their numbers grew, continually crashing enlarged the gaps between vehicles.

They were like living in a house leaking everywhere, continuously using basins to catch water.

Amidst screams, the Zhou and Liu families began to decrease in number.

......

Ba Wang Plastic Factory.

Li Yu got up from bed, put on shoes, wore his anti-explosion suit, and pushed the car door open to go outside.

From 12 to 1:30, it was his shift.

The night was deep; he exchanged shifts with Old Lv, using a flashlight.
