Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 936: Chapter 650: The Forgotten Ones

Li Yu looked at this greenhouse, and his thoughts became increasingly clear.

In this greenhouse, there would be paths between the plots of land, not to mention that there are dozens of acres of greenhouses within the inner and outer bases.

Even if only two or three acres of land were left for them to temporarily reside, that would be enough.

One acre of land equals 666 square meters.

Thinking of this, Li Yu felt his thoughts became much clearer.

After understanding all this, he joined the others busy in the snow to help out.

The greenhouse hasn’t been built yet; we’ll talk about it once it’s done.

The sun was out, but it didn’t feel much warmer.

In the wind and snow, everyone was building despite the harsh weather. For safety reasons, besides using lifts, they also drove some vehicles over to serve as steps to stand on the roofs and install the sun boards.

Rustle——

Snow on top of the already built greenhouse slipped to the ground along the tilted sun board.

Everyone was covered in snow, and puffs of mist came out of their mouths.

The weather was quite cold, though better than the morning; the temperature was still minus fourteen degrees.

Not just Li Yu and his group, but those from the outer city, such as Xiao Qian, Ju Tianrui, and Old Qin, were also installing the sun boards with all their might, despite the snow.

The wind stung their faces painfully.

But no one backed down.

As time slowly passed, the PC sun boards covering the greenhouse became more complete.

In the blink of an eye, it was already noon at twelve o’clock.

After the morning’s effort, there’s only a little left of the sun boards in the Inner City, and at this morning’s pace, it would only take an hour to finish.

Noon is lunchtime, but seeing this last small part, no one wanted to leave, so they simply finished it in one go.

.....

In the Outer City.

After talking with Uncle in the morning, Uncle immediately found He Chao and asked him to notify the personnel stationed outside from the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Four people, a few kilometers near the expressway, drove straight back.

But those like Xiao Shunzi stationed in Xin City had some trouble because the distance was relatively far and the walkie-talkie couldn’t reach them.

So, they had to notify them personally.

He Chao took a few people and drove to the County.

Meanwhile, some non-staff personnel stationed near the Big Camphor Tree Base, such as Zhu Xiao and Zuo Ruxue, immediately packed up and came in after receiving the notification from the Big Camphor Tree Base.

These past few days hadn’t been easy for them. Unable to go out for tasks, they couldn’t exchange for more food. Although they had the status of extra staff and could receive a certain portion of food each month, it was only enough to keep them alive.

Eating too little left them without the energy they needed, preventing them from doing more.

After receiving Uncle’s message, they immediately brought their team to the Big Camphor Tree Base’s wall.

After a thorough inspection and sealing of their weapons and equipment, they stored their luggage temporarily in the thirty-square-meter room in Weng City.

Then Uncle took them to the First Outer City greenhouse to help with construction.

That’s why the construction speed in the First Outer City was very fast, completed before noon.

Uncle then took them to help in the Second Outer City, and finally around one o’clock in the afternoon, at almost the same time, the greenhouses in the inner and outer cities were topped off, and the covering layers were complete!

Li Yu immediately told everyone to go back and eat something; the better part of this day had left everyone exhausted and freezing.

He didn’t go to the dining hall right away but instead went to the First Outer City. Having just received Uncle’s message that Zuo Ruxue and Zhu Xiao had come in, he hadn’t had the time to go see them while finishing things up.

Now that everything was settled, he headed towards the Outer City.

A few minutes later, he arrived in the Outer City.

Just in time as he reached there, the greenhouse construction in the Second Outer City was just completed.

Li Yu looked down from the wall, saw Zhu Xiao and the others tidying up in the wind and snow, and turned to Uncle, saying:

”Uncle, the suggestion I just mentioned on the walkie-talkie, what do you think? We won’t have time to build new houses. Anyway, the greenhouse needs water, electricity, and heating; those conditions are enough.”

Uncle nodded, saying, ”This matter, you decide. I have no objections.”

Hearing Uncle had no objections, Li Yu planned to talk to Zuo Ruxue and the others later.

Actually, the residential buildings in the First Outer City weren’t unable to accommodate everyone; it’d just be a bit crowded.

Li Yu’s principle has always been to put the base’s interests first.

The priority is to ensure the interests of the inner and outer city residents before considering whether to help those outside.

Otherwise, why should non-staff personnel enjoy the same treatment as outer city personnel?

Sometimes fairness doesn’t mean equal distribution, but getting more benefits when you contribute more — that is fairness.

If all benefits were equally distributed, it would inevitably foster laziness, with everyone relying on others and reaping without sowing since being lazy would still yield the same benefits.

One monk drinks water, two monks shoulder water, three monks go thirsty — that’s the logic.

There must be differences to highlight the meaning of effort and contribution.
