Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 906: Chapter 639: Overlord Plastic Factory (Double-Length)_2

Li Yu listened and, without saying much, pointed at the map and said to Dapao, ”Dapao, let’s follow what Zhu Xiao just mentioned, we head straight to that industrial park.”

Beside him, Li Gang somewhat confusedly said, ”Bro, aren’t we looking for a place to set up camp? Are we going back tonight?”

Li Yu replied, ”No, we’re spending the night camping near the industrial park. It’s a bit distanced from the city, thus a suitable spot to camp.”

”Oh, oh, I thought we were hitting the road at night,” Li Gang exhaled in relief.

He had experienced driving back to base at nightfall before, when the surroundings turned dark, and zombies occasionally sprang out from the roadside, feeling his heart race in fear.

This was an experience from long ago when they returned late from a mission outside.

They sped off.

Heading towards the sunset, they disappeared into the area reeking of blood.

.....

After more than ten minutes, some buildings started to appear around.

On both sides of the national highway, there were often some residential houses, and the closer they got to towns, the more residential houses appeared.

They were passing through a small town roughly spanning two kilometers.

Suddenly.

A voice rang in Li Yu’s earpiece.

”Director Li, there’s a little boy by the roadside to the east, near a stone pedestal,” Old Lv’s voice echoed.

Upon hearing this, Li Yu rolled down the car window, looked east, and saw a little boy wearing a shabby, oversized cotton jacket, riddled with holes, cotton stuffing poking out, his face dirty, looking pitifully at their group.

After a glance, Li Yu retracted his gaze.

This is the reality of Doomsday erupting in less than two years, where various strange beings emerged, and many forces exploit kids, women, and the elderly to elicit sympathy, not realizing these people are extremely terrifying as well.

Li Yu witnessed with his own eyes a child under 10 years old fooling four adults to death.

When faced with such situations, Li Yu preferred not to intervene. If this were before Doomsday, regardless of whether the kid was lying for money, Li Yu would’ve handed some pocket money.

But during Doomsday, he thought, better less trouble than more.

Of course, so long as they don’t provoke him.

”Ignore it, just go,” Li Yu said.

Watching the little boy, Old Lv thought of his own daughter, about the same age.

He sighed softly, stayed silent, and didn’t get out of the car, following Li Yu’s instructions to pay no mind.

After the convoy left, the little boy glared resentfully at the direction they drove off. He then spat thick phlegm towards Li Yu’s direction.

”Bah! What kind of people are these, no sympathy at all. Nowadays people have increasingly less empathy.” Despite his youthful face, he possessed a contrasting worldly wisdom and shrewdness.

While speaking, several boys slightly older than him appeared beside him.

Yet the oldest seemed no more than 13 years old.

”Such a good opportunity, wasted by you,” one sneaky-looking boy said.

Although not the tallest, he carried the fiercest aura.

His sinister eyes moved violently, filled with malice.

”Even if they didn’t stop, there’s nothing we could do. Besides, you saw those many cars, so many people. Just us few aren’t enough,” the boy said maturely.

”Couldn’t you at least fake some pitifulness? At the very least, you could beg for food. Damn, your acting is terrible. Next time let Tui Zi play the role,” the boy who appeared to be the leader said.

”Should we resort to the previous trick, force them to stop by scattering nails on the ground?”

”Do you really wish to die? Forgotten the lesson from last time? If they see nails and spot us, they’ll certainly think we are responsible.”

”......”

.....

After Li Yu and his group departed, they continued towards the industrial park.

This industrial park was built back in earlier years, during Shishi’s development, and during the approval process, it was deemed too polluting, thus was never authorized.

Since it mainly housed chemical industries inside that emitted a lot of wastewater.

After construction was completed, surrounding water sources became severely contaminated just like the initial estimation.

Consequently, many local residents moved away, and over time, the population dwelling here steadily dwindled.

Time flew quickly.

Seventeen minutes passed, and Li Yu could already spot several factory buildings ahead from the car.

Two minutes later, they reached the entrance of the industrial park.

The convoy slowed down.

At the entrance of the industrial park stood a renowned chemical plant.

However, the outermost chemical plant appeared extremely dilapidated.

The chemical plant had turned unrecognizable. Where once thrived lively factory floors, now lay chaos and desolation.

The gate had been knocked down, steel rooftops and concrete walls had been corroded by acid rain, everywhere lay broken machines and steel plates, rusty metal structures imparted severe bleakness.

Upon passing the entrance, they could see factory floors filled with collapsed equipment and remnants, scattered everywhere with corrosive agents and waste toxic chemicals, chemical pollutants permeated the air, unbearable.

Most pipelines had ruptured, ground littered with chemical spills adding to the corrosion and unevenness.

In this devastated chemical plant, there was no movement, no sounds, only deathly silence.

Li Yu gazed at the chemical plant, inquiring, ”Is there a river nearby?”
