Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

”You’ve got some nerve. Didn’t you hear me talking? And what are you doing? Hurry up and tie them back up.

If you tie them back up obediently right now, then come beg for mercy, I might just speak some kind words to the merciful Unborn Mother and have you baptized to join us.

But if you don’t listen, hmph!” This so-called Great Protector of the White Lotus Sect spoke arrogantly.

Li Hang and the others have come to admire this man’s courage.

They used to think that villains portrayed in TV dramas were outrageously arrogant under such clear circumstances, which baffled them.

Not until they saw it with their own eyes.

It turns out there really are such people.

Seems like they’ve been brainwashed too severely, beyond help. No threat would mean anything to such people.

Li Yu still ignored him. He only said one word before, and once he knew they were all here, he didn’t have any more questions.

Hmm? That’s not right.

Li Yu suddenly turned around and said to Li Tie, ”You take a few people and check this building, don’t leave any loose ends.”

If anyone in the base could put Li Yu’s mind at ease, it would undoubtedly be Li Tie. He had management skills, problem-solving abilities, and wouldn’t talk too much. Often, one look from Li Yu and he would understand.

And quickly find a way to solve the problem.

Li Tie nodded, then called a few people to take flashlights and rifles and start clearing the building.

”Hey! Our Great Protector is talking to you, didn’t you hear him?

Are you guys soldiers? Heh heh, let me tell you, this isn’t like before the apocalypse. I advise you to kneel down quickly and ask for the Great Protector’s forgiveness.

You have not seen the divine power of the merciful Unborn Mother. If she comes back and sees that you have let them go, you’re all done for!” Another man next to the Great Protector of the White Lotus Sect said, his voice filled with schadenfreude.

Divine power?

Li Yu found these two words somewhat awkward.

From what he had learned about the Unborn Mother, it was probably some kind of loudspeaker-like device, then they’d cook up some deceptive tricks.

Hmph!

A scornful smile crossed the corner of Li Yu’s mouth.

They didn’t know that their god, the Unborn Mother, was already dead?

He didn’t stop his movement, untying the few people in front of him, as Third Uncle and the others came over to help them up.

Only at the doorway, Li Hang and about four or five others were still blocking it.

Now Li Yu hadn’t said what to do with these few people, nor given proper instructions.

So, for the time being, they simply blocked the door.

”Qin, how come you’re here? Hurry downstairs, quick, Ah Huang was taken away by two guys, they might kill Ah Huang, hurry and save him!” Ah Hong said immediately after tearing off his tape.

Old Qin was startled upon hearing this.

Anger, sorrow, and grief flashed in his eyes.

He picked up a bundle made out of curtains about two meters away and said, ”Ah Huang has been dismembered by them, only his head is left.”

”This, this, this, Qin, you’re saying this is Ah Huang?” Ah Hong’s eyes widened, asking incredulously.

Blood was still dripping from the bundle, drop by drop, which seemed to confirm Old Qin’s words, but he couldn’t believe it, neither could his workmates standing behind him.

Old Qin said nothing, just unwrapped the bundle, revealing a head.

The head, bloody and mangled, was barely recognizable as Ah Huang, who had been taken down earlier that day.

”Ah! White Lotus Sect, I f*ck|your ancestors aaaaaaaaaaaah!” Ah Hong screamed in collapse.

Ah Huang was his best friend. They had enlisted together, demobilized together, and both entered the lathe factory together, being close friends for over a decade, closer than brothers.

Especially after the apocalypse, up until now.

Initially, he was the one supposed to be taken away, all because he mocked the Unborn Mother and was chosen as a sacrifice.

But then Ah Huang stepped forward and spat in the Unborn Mother’s face, compelling her to take Ah Huang first.

He never expected Ah Huang to end up like this...

Ah Hong’s eyes were bloodshot at this moment, his gaze was as if he wanted to kill.

The rest of the workmates behind him, who had worked with Ah Huang for many years, now witnessing Ah Huang’s death, could not extinguish their hatred and rage.

Li Yu glanced at them, took the knife from his waist, and handed it to Ah Hong.

Then he pointed to the disciples of the White Lotus Sect and said, ”They are yours now.”

Third Uncle and the others also handed their Long Knives to Old Qin’s other workmates.

Li Yu’s meaning was clear.

Revenge, this chance for vengeance was given to them.

Ah Hong and the others did not hesitate to take the weapons offered by Li Yu and the others.

Old Qin also turned around to properly rewrap the bundle.

The moment he turned, his whole aura changed completely. After seeing Ah Huang’s head, his calmness vanished, and he became like a Shura, full of killing intent.

Ah Hong and the others stood behind Old Qin, facing the group of the White Lotus Sect, their faces barely hiding their angry hostility, their eyes red as if they were about to devour someone.

Li Yu and the others stepped aside, giving Old Qin and the others their chance, and also to see their strength.

The base never took in useless burdens.

Every bit of food meant pressure, and everyone needed to contribute.

The dozen or so people from the White Lotus Sect, seeing Old Qin and the others with knives approaching them step by step.

Did not back down.

Instead, they had a resigned demeanor.

And the Great Protector of the White Lotus Sect watched Old Qin and them approaching, muttering through his covered head, ”The merciful and suffering-relieving Unborn Mother, purify them!”

Yet, Old Qin and the others were unmoved.

Step, step, step...

Old Qin’s footsteps were slow, as if they were the footsteps of the Grim Reaper.

It was only when Old Qin approached within two meters of the White Lotus Sect’s Great Protector that the Great Protector glanced around, a tad frantic, having not seen the Immortal Mother.

In the past, as long as the Immortal Mother was present, they had a backbone. They would simply follow the Immortal Mother’s commands, charge forward, and always manage to eliminate the heretics.

But without the Immortal Mother by his side now, he felt a touch of panic.

Old Qin looked at them and declared: ”Let you taste what true suffering feels like. What the fuck does ’purification’ even mean!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he charged forward, with incredible speed, cleaving his kitchen knife towards the Great Protector’s face.

Splat~

Half of the Great Protector’s face was horrifically sliced off by the kitchen knife.

The top half of the Protector’s head was split in two from the nose up.

”Ah! My face, my face, you mor–” The Great Protector’s speech was garbled, with half his mouth cleaved off.

The eyeball on his face was also violently chopped off.

Thud, thud, thud~

It hit the ground, bounced a few times, and came to a stop near Li Yu, who was six or seven meters away.

Li Yu watched as the eyeball rolled to his feet.

Squish~

He stomped on it, flattening the eyeball.

The juices sprayed out from the crushed eyeball.

”You all deserve to die!” Prompted by Old Qin’s action, Ah Hong and the others surged forward.

The White Lotus Sect’s Great Protector, having been cleaved, screamed and then collapsed to the ground.

The other followers of the White Lotus Sect watched as Ah Hong and his gang approached with terrifying momentum, knives in hand.

At this point, they couldn’t care less about praying to the Immortal Mother and started desperately searching for weapons to defend themselves. However, their knives were on the window sill, a good seven or eight meters away from them.

Looking around in vain, their only choice was to raise the stools they’d been sitting on in defense.

By then, Ah Hong and his group were already charging at them.

Meanwhile, after slicing the Great Protector with his knife, Old Qin didn’t pause his assault.

He wielded the heavy kitchen knife, weighing about seven or eight catties and measuring over 30 centimeters, specialized for chopping bones.

He swung it towards the nearest member of the White Lotus Sect.

The cult member, too late to raise the stool in defense, had just watched the Great Protector’s face get split in half.

That gruesome image was barely half a meter away from him and left him momentarily in shock.

As the kitchen knife swung down, Old Qin wasn’t concerned with the finesse of the killing blow nor whether he would kill instantly.

He only wanted to vent his fury.

The kitchen knife cleaved across the waist – due to the short length, he swung the heavy blade again.

One slice to the left side of the cult member’s waist and another to his right.

Snap!

Thud!

The first sound was the breaking of the cult member’s spine.

The second was the sound of the cult member falling to the ground.

The cult member was bisected at the waist by Old Qin’s blow, folding over like a piece of paper.

His upper body fell backward, but because of Old Qin’s rapid speed and great force, there was a moment of inertia.

The man’s upper body completely folded over his lower half.

His head made intimate contact with his ankles.

A look of terror still etched in his eyes.

On the other side.

Ah Hong and the others also displayed combat prowess far beyond normal humans.

Their sheer speed was considerably faster. Wrapped in the flames of vengeance, their fighting strength climbed several levels.

Zzzt, zzzt, zzzt~

Ah Hong relentlessly chopped at the cult members’ necks, and after each slice, he would make a forceful tug.

In his mind lingered the sight of his companion Ah Huang’s severed head – unforgettable, and since that had been done to Ah Huang, he was determined to repay in kind.

Including Old Qin, there were only seven of them.

In contrast, there were sixteen members of the White Lotus Sect – more than double their number.

However, due to overconfidence, or perhaps due to the brainwashing that made them blindly revere the Immortal Mother, they never expected their adversaries to dare such an audacious counterattack.

And, as they hadn’t grabbed their weapons from the window sill in time.

Though they had stools, they were no match for Old Qin and his group.

In an instant, Old Qin alone killed two men. Ah Hong and the others were also incredibly fast.

This was a battle of unequal strength.

Li Yu and the others watched from the sidelines as Old Qin and his men slaughtered the cult members.

Utterly unfazed.

A few cult members put up some resistance, but they too were quickly dispatched by the infuriated Old Qin and his team.

Three minutes later.

Surveying the bodies littered on the ground, Li Yu counted – Old Qin had killed eight people by himself.

That was half of their total body count!
